The Devil's Rain

Completely nuts and a ton of fun. Could have used a bit more of Shatner, though.

What's wild is DeepStar Six, Leviathan and The Abyss all came out the same damn crazy year!

Hollywood does that shit surprisingly often.

Two other examples would be Deep Impact/Armageddon and Dante's Peak/Volcano.

Yeah, I remember that almost happened with 300 too, where George Clooney would have been Leonidas in a competing film. But three films is just crazy.

Finally got around to watching Terminator Dark Fate. Some really great action scenes. I had a hard time with the character of Dani but overall the movie wasn’t bad. Oh the terminator who does drapes, love it.

I didn’t mind Genesis or Salvation either but they just need to calm down and stick behind one of the movies they put out for once. All those stories were meant to continue on and it’s really annoying going into a movie you know won’t have the story finished on. It’s getting old and has been for awhile.

I really wanted to like this film and whilst I appreciate Zombie's take to go off on an original tangent it felt too much for me.

Yeah, you're either into it or you aren't, I don't blame you. And it doesn't help that his first Halloween movie isn't very good, naked Danielle Harris aside.

Akira 4K on the big screen with my son. I hadn't watched this properly since it first came out back in the late 80s. Was awesome.

I'm still in awe of this one ... the little details you pick up on the big screen were amazing. And the animation is superb ... for me it's right up there with anything Disney did during the 50s and 60s.

Frankenstein (2015)

This is mostly an interesting modernization of the story, but I don't think the narration, taken directly from the novel's text, quite fits.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

Overall a very strong piece of work.

The Blackcoat's Daughter

Wasn't sure what to expect here, but it was really good.

That was messed up lol especially the end

Just when you think the messed up-ness has peaked, the movie pulls another ace out of its sleeve and tops what came before.
