Oooh, nice find!

I'm kinda hoping for a 'Prometheus' reference myself (aside from that 'Weyland Corporation' logo that was spotted amongst the concept art).  This may or may not* be because I'm currently doing a fanedit of said movie and have it very much on the brain.

* It is.

It's too bad Amanda won't live... but then again, who does?

ikarop spotted these medbed scanners from Prometheus a while back.

I spotted some vaguely Prometheus tech in the twitch archive of the guy's playthrough which is also being posted in the Story thread. SPOILERS for mid-game/A:I backstory.

Spoiler
In a flashback sequence, the crew of the Anesidora takes a trip back to a certain derelict and shuts off the beacon. The beacon room is very Prometheus/juggernaut in design and FX.

I am really trying to stop watching this playthrough, partly because the guy is terrible at the game.

It's not quite the same as the one from 'Prometheus' but still, a nice find.

Damn, I really must learn not to look at spoilers.  I would have loved to have come across that unexpectedly during my playthrough  :'(

Spoiler
Having said that, I can't wait to play through that section; it sounds amazing!  I especially like how they've tackled one of the plot holes from 'Aliens'.  Well, a semi-plot hole at any rate - I'm aware of the lava damage to the derelict, as seen in 'Aliens'.  Also, the original script for 'Alien' (or was it the Alan Dean Foster novel - or both) had Dallas turning off the beacon. Whatever, I like the idea of some characters from 'Alien: Isolation' turning the beacon off.

More Prometheus than Alien:-\  That does sound like an interesting sequence in game though!

To be fair, SpeedyMaxx said "the beacon room", as opposed the areas of the derelict that we saw in 'Alien'.  So, it's not like it's retconning Ridley's film.  If anything, it sounds as though it's merging the two styles from 'Alien' and 'Prometheus', therefore allowing them to co-exist in harmony.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe one of the urns from 'Prometheus' will be hidden away in a dark corner as an easter egg.

Spoiler
The entire game is, from what I have seen, extremely faithful to the design and overall aesthetic of Alien. That room was the only thing that had FX and/or tech that reminded me a bit of the Engineer tech from Prometheus, and it was off in an alcove on the derelict. It didn't come off out of place to me, but then I like Prometheus. I would not mind another reference either but I doubt there is one. For all I know any resemblance is unintentional, and the CA guys don't like the film.

That would be spot on! However he said something about it only being a 'flashback' which means they modelled it and all but I don't think it will be a ingame environment.

I hadn't considered it that way.  That would be a (minor) shame.  I'd really love to explore the derelict (it's always the highlight for me, whenever it appears in an 'Alien' related game).

Any chance of a confirmation on this, SpeedyMaxx?  I'd be much obliged.

I don't really understand the distinction re: game modeling or whatever, but yes, in the game, it's a flashback sequence that you (as Captain Marlow) must navigate. So it is a "level" or stage or whatever you may call it, and you do explore it a bit.

Another connection with Blade Runner is the 'ENVIRON CTR PURGE' message which was reused from Alien.
