There’s a new addition to the online community in the way of Alien Encyclopedia. It’s ‘an ongoing project aimed at creating a comprehensive guide to the complete Alien universe’ says its creator Markus Friebe. It’s not built like a wiki site but in a book format and you can download the latest version of it in PDF format here.

There some of other great specialised Alien sites in the community too. We have Valaquen’s Strange Shapes blog, wmmvrrvrrmm’s Alien Explorations blog, and the Weyland-Yutani Archives from xeno_alpha_07. All three contain very unique and interesting articles about the Alien series. A lot of the older sites are of course still online including SM’s Alien Encyclopedia and Alien Timeline, and Anchorpoint Essays too.

i like the idea that the encyclopedia is downloadable as a PDF book. My own would intend to be a book if I only had a clue about programming such a thing to work that way.

I've been assisting Markus with editing this.  Good to see he's got it up already.  Markus, if you read this - I'm on leave and haven't been checking my emails; not ignoring you - honest!  ;)

Yep, thanks goes out to Scott for helping me with this. The encyclopedia probably would have been an embarassement if he hadn't pointed out some glaring oversights and errors. Enjoy your leave! :)
