Patch Changelogs:

ATI Driver Hotfix:
A hotfix driver has been released for ATI cards and is available here.

We advise players to follow the recommendation of ATI and only install this if you are experiencing hangs/freezes (i.e. the game becomes unresponsive but does not crash) when attempting to run AVP in DX11/10 mode.

Update:

Nvidia Latest Drivers fix various issues:

I cant believe it, but i just installed the new NVIDIA Drivers 196.75 and i still cant believe it...

- No stuttering anymore when i start and play the game under directX11  ;D
- Overall performance seems to be improved and everything is a lot smoother  ;)

I didnt try out the DirectX9 mode, but im just happy that the stuttering is gone now.

I got a C++ runtime error after hitting reload checkpoint in Refinery after being sucked into a fan, now the game won't open. Going to try restarting my PC now, and will post what happens here when I do.

EDIT: no luck. the game still won't open anymore.

EDIT: Fixed it. The runtime error apparently deleted AvP.exe, I did the validate option under properties on steam, and it redownloaded a file, then the game works. I know it was AvP.exe that disappeared, because I had the folder open in the background and saw the exe pop up when steam repaired it. I really hope this doesn't happen any more.

-Windows doesn't like things being labeled avp.exe because it has its own executable under that name.

-ranked skins do not unlock.

-Getting a simul kill on a couple of maps causes both players to be ejected from the current game.

Tim Jones of Rebellion had been talking about it working supposedly, however this does not seem to be the case.

It's been discussed before, but i'd like a separate attack button for the alien's tail lash, it's stupid it can only be used on the sealing + it works only at a range of 3 meters and at 2 meters distance the heavy attack automatically takes over for that attack type.

Also give the tail lash a descend stun, e.g: 0.3 secs, just enough to get behind them, because we can't stun or knock down Preds (but we can on marines? the Preds already have superior melee, where's the balance in that?), which is very annoying since all their one-shot-kill-weapons can still be used in close combat, especially the disc is annoying (if you even get past the disc at long range).
I think this is a subtle change which helps the aliens in melee, but doesn't affect the game too much and doesn't make the Alien over powered.

A small and easy change, but genious.

Just saying, yes preds are more powerfull in melee, yes preds have more powerfull weaponry, yes preds are way slower than aliens.. Wait? Oh right, aliens are really fast, I think thats where the balance is. Also the alien heavy attack has a long range, I cant tell you how many times Ive heavy spammed preds to death (and Im not talking about the insta tail wall spam, its the real heavy attack)

Seems like avp has some type of memory leak.  As soon as I alt tab I also lose video.

Doesn't run as good as the demo did.

Edit: Dx9 version runs fine.

Maybe it was to hard so they cut it out and didn't tell anyone hoping no one would notice because I doubt  a lot of people have the all that equipment

Srry, but the heavy attack of preds goes just as far, and why can they knock us down and we can't on them? It's pure numbers and logic, they have more advantages over us.

But i have to say that the probs i have with them is with skilled players, but as a skilled alien player, iam no match for those discs and very heavy melee attacks, usually i get them because they unblock by accident.

And vacuum dragon punch is back in full bro-force.

Also just lost all of current playtime's XP (7 hours) due to magic mid game syncing error caused by changing graphics settings in mid game. Awesome. How about turning autosyncing off, ya know, like real games.

So I started the Marine campaign and the floor/ceilings never loaded and it lagged like crazy. I finished the Alien campaign without ever having any lag issues, and play online just fine also, so its got to be something specific to the marine campaign. I reloaded from the start and it didn't help.

Then the game crashed and deleted the avp.exe AGAIN.

Once I repair that I'm off to tinker with the graphical settings to see about getting the Rine campaign working.

Also, the sound stutters and locks up during all the movies. I only use onboard sound, so I'm not surprised, but if anyone knows a work-around, I'd be thrilled.
