It was on fast-track. The Scotts and Costigan knighted Rinsch as director, than Fox halted that decision with a "No. Ridley, you direct, or we don't do it." And Tony in the last interview about a month ago stated that they were "still going to make it."

And that's the last we've heard of it. :-[

paragon

thanks for the info.

TJ Doc

Who the hell was that guy?  :D

And I was told sometime last month by Fox that they did hope to announce it soon. This was before the whole "Scott or nothing" whohar.

Corporal, would love some updates. Maybe contact Fox once again? Ridley's interest might have been piqued?

Alien Smurf

You're connected with Fox? That's pretty cool :)

If they do get round to making the film though, when do you suppose it will be released?

If they actually move on it, I'd say late 2010 to early 2011.

They haven't started.

Nightmare Asylum

Still think that now that Ridley Scott is directing?

When I read this news it sent chills down my spine.

I posted this in another thread but it's relevant to this one so:

The script hasn't even been written yet, therefore, the movie cannot be officially "green-lit"  (no script + no budget=no movie).  Example: Peter Jackson was just at SDCC talking about "The Hobbit". He had to clarify the rumor mill, explaining that the script wasn't finished yet. Without a finished script, there is no budget allotted by the production company. So the deal is not in place. Everyone just assumes "The Hobbit" is happening, but that's not the case.

I'm not getting my hopes up for anything just yet.

The story is in place, and it must be good. Scott is directing.
