Did they change Chet's dreads during filming?

I was watching it last night and noticed that during the scene where Chet is killing the homeless woman, her dreads are ridiculously large, like down to her elbows. During the rest of the movie they're down to her shoulders.

Isn't it leaning forward with its head down below shoulder level at the time? If so, there's your explanation...
