STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH, AN ALL-NEW ANIMATED SERIES, TO DEBUT ON DISNEY+ IN 2021
CLONE FORCE 99, FROM STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, RETURNS!

Today, Disney+ ordered its next animated series from Lucasfilm, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Fresh off of the critically-acclaimed series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Disney+ original series will premiere on the streaming service in 2021.

The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+.  “While The Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning.  We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance) and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance, NCIS) with Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (Star Wars Resistance). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.

Thanks for the video. In Rogue One the CGI faces for Leia and Tarkin bothered me.
This video helps to explain why.

Maybe because I have some background in art history and graphic design I can immediately pick up on these changes?
While others have no problem with these visual variations? I'm not certain, just a guess.

;)

The only bit that was NQR for me in Rogue One was Tarkin's first scene.  Even watching it again the other day.  I stopped noticing by his next scene.

Interesting to note in the cinema both Tarkin & Leia looked a little too plastic and shiny for me. But watching again on Disney+ on my 4K Bravia they look far, far better now. Especially Leia at the end. Colour and light calibration perhaps?

Rumor.

It was only a matter of time for this deal to get done. We here at LRM can safely say that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker for the upcoming Disney+ Kenobi series. Our source shared with me that the deal is done and Hayden Christensen will be coming back to the Star Wars franchise! The hope was to have the deal done and announce it for Star Wars Celebration.  With Star Wars Celebration on hiatus until 2022 this news will be announced at a later date closer to the beginning of filming.

Opinions of his acting and the prequels notwithstanding, does anyone really believe that he's the best choice to be what's essentially a glorified stuntman?  He doesn't fill out the costume and he doesn't do Vader's voice, so what's the point of bringing him back for this show?

Unless he and Ewan are going to be de-aged for some flashbacks, why not just hire the guy who played Vader in R1?

I can't imagine he will portray Vader. It must be flashbacks/visions.

If he's Vader, maybe they'll show him maskless in his meditation chamber from time to time.  That's the only way it'd make sense for him to reprise the role, but I can't imagine that would happen very often.

Flashbacks or maybe a force ghost/personal ghost of “good” Anakin to Obi-Wan as he is presumably by himself so he needs to “talk” to someone.
