Predators having Acid Proof Weapons & Armor

Why would the Predator resort to slime and old shit when he can just treat his weaponry beforehand?

If I would have to guess . . . because the Alien resin is perhaps the ONLY thing resistant to its  own acid.  The only way to get the resin, is to go hunting Aliens.  Ergo, at one point in a Predator's life, they would have to hunt Aliens without acid-proof gear to MAKE them acid-proof.  For all we know, this might even be part of the premise for AVP in general: Not only are Aliens part of a blooding ritual, but they are required to increase the effectiveness of the Pred's gear for future hunts.

Well I wasn't going to anylize things withy that much logic,  but that supports my idea so hooray for you!

Predator technology enable them to fight aliens with advance alloy which resist acid and/or acid proof.

AVP demonstrated it. One thing annoy me though, Anderson inconsistence with predator weapons that are acid and non acid proof. I believe it's bullshit. You have either the tools which are resistant or not. The concept or the idea to bring both of them on screen is ridiculous. So when you go hunting, you bring the adequate tools to kill you prey thus your are a professionnal. If your are a professionnal you do your job right not half of it. Anderson play half of it imo.
