But look at this:http://www.worldoffandom.com/avp/avp.htmPWSA: QuoteFor example, in AVP you're not just free to change the design of theAlien, nor would I want to. I think that where the Alien franchise hasattempted to do that the movies have been less successful. I was not abig fan of the kind of change of the look of the Alien in "Alien3," forexample, or the way the alien look in "Alien: Resurrection." Creatively,we went back to the original Giger design of the Alien, which is kind oflike the classic form from Ridley Scott's movie. So we didn't get toplay with the look of the Alien, and I don't think that is a bad thing.Yeah. Right.QuoteOne of the things that assisted us is my insistenceto returning to the classic designs to a lot of the creatures. I wantedto go back to Ridley Scott's Giger look for the Alien. I want to stickwith a classic look for the Predator. I think if we had wanted toredesign the Alien and redesigned Predator, create something like the"newborn" that appeared in "Alien: Resurrection," there may have been amuch longer lead-time on the film. Because we were going from originalclassic designs, and then working with a lot of the people whomanufactured those original classic designs, that certainly did help usspeed up the process a little. We work with Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillisof ADI. Tom has been the guy in the Alien suit for the past threemovies. They built the aliens and had built an Alien Queen, so for themit was just a matter of looking through the old blueprints.

Because that might have been what he wanted in the first place, and FOX, in their eternal wisdom, may have wanted and demanded something else entirely... And the SOURCE must be credible, otherwise this may be another 'PWSA said this but after all, he didn't' kinda thing...
