Speaking of Cults, I was playing AVP:E and I was running around with A Predalien at 5,000 health when I saw these guys called Cultists.i attacked one of them and they started bowing to me
What level is that on?
it was the last level. Enemies are tough and don't screw around.
Enemies:K series Aliens,Predators, Marines.
Wildlife:Oswoc,Kurn,Cultists
The cultists are right outside the hive near the oswocs to the South.Sometimes the predators kill them.
Hahha, WTF is up with cultists? They just let you kill them!!!
Can someone take a photo?
The cultists annoy me. hey make me want to kill them.....like all other humans in this game since, they're such goddamn annoying enemies to deal with. What's up with the Cultists anyways? They don't even seem to have any part in the plot of the game OR mission.
Just there to build your army, well thats what I use them for lol :D
They're also a referance to ALIENS:Earth hive
If my disk ever works again I'll have to look at them even though I may have just killed them reguardless of their name lol.
Heh, since those fools worship me, I give them the "honor" of being hosts for cystic warriors and praetorians ;).
^ Poor cultists.
I let them live, occasionally when they get by the eggs, some accidents occur. ;)
This is what I do to the cultist as...
Marine: Leave them alone or target practice. ;D
Predator: Have never met them.
Alien: Use for host... or use ravagers to behead them. ;D
You can find them in a Marines mission? Iv'e played through every mission and had never seen the cultists in a Marine mission. Where are they?
Some where in the level 5 I think it is. The level when you attack the hive and get a cocoon.

You're right, but I only found one. In the last Alien mission, there is a whole group complete with a cult leader.
:o Mmmmm.... Cultists. :D

I thought there was more then one. Is it possible preds killed some? I think I remember preds killing them after you get the cacoon.
EDIT: I remember now there is only one.
After I reached my obsession with demons and cults....I want to know what kind of religion those cultists have for the Aliens....Demon Queen Xenomorph Goddess.....
Or maybe the devil is the King alien, and godess is Queen. ;)
Or maybe cultists need to rethink their lives :-\
Too late when your strapped to the wall of a hive...

lol. I like building my army with them.
Lol, same here. I really just believe thats why they're there.
I remember one time I was playing as the USCM, in the praetorian cocoon level. I came across a human encampment, that looked a bit like it had been ransacked. In the center of it all was a unit that was identified as "Cult Leader". I had my infantrymen target and shoot him, but his health meter always stayed the same. The man wouldn't die!
I think there cool but they don't help me at all.(K Series always takes them first. >:()
Never knew they were there.
Some people will worship anything. Aliens are actually quite a rational choice of idol if you think about it from their perspective. They are looking for something to believe in, and there they are, beings that are nigh on unkillable, and I can see how they might believe that worshipping them would gain them 'ascension' to the ranks of the aliens through being facehugged.
On a purely gaming note, I try to catch and use them as hosts, but the K-Series usually get them first and since they're tougher and more numerous I often get owned trying to fight them off.
Oh! Cultists? These guys arent unknown in the Aliens universe. The first cult rose up in Aliens Earth Hive, and the real reason why the xenos escaped in the first place. It was led by a guy named Salvaje. You see, in the early comics and stuff, xenos were able to communicate sorta, using telepathic dreams. People that recieved these dreams either saw them as horrible nightmares, or visions of 'The true Messiah'. Of course, it was only a way to lure people into being hosts, which worked quite well.
The place where the first xeno was being housed in Lima, which had matured into a queen and laying eggs, was raided by hundreds of cultists. Many gave themselves willingly as hosts, but some sorta regretted it. Before a destruct sequence was activated, around a dozen inpregnated hosts got free.
Anywhat, a lot of cults exist after the alien wars, but mostly through the spread of Royal Jelly which is in the extended universe. You can see quite a bit of this in the Omnibus series, mostly in the first and fourth volumes. Freaks...
Anywho, Im pretty darn sure the cultists in the game are only there to kinda give you a freebee, since its the last level and its the toughest. After all, you are going up against a full sized hive of the K-Series.
Hahahaha! Hope I didnt talk anyone's ears off with the whole thing with the extened universe. ::)
Oh, on another note, I think it's fun to have a Ravager pose in the center of a cultist group.

Since the comics aren't canon they don't count as part of the alien universe.
I know, just thought I would put some info out there. ;D

We're not talking about making a movie, here. It doesn't need to be canon.
Also, there's no such thing as official canon.
No statement has ever been made, it's all canon, you just have to decide how it all fits, or simply relegate certain material to non-canonical universes yourself, but nobody has to agree with your take on it.
And back on topic, I remember Salvaje and his cult, he had that commtech working for him who got taken away by men in black and got drugged, right?
That whole storyline could've made a great seperate story altogether.
I did enjoy the novels of the Aliens series pretty awesome! Especially with Mr. Perry's excellent weapons and gadget descriptions. Only major plot problem I had with it was how it related to the original storyline in Aliens. Replacing Hicks with Wilks, and Newt with Billy. Wasnt his fault though, DH just seems to have some trouble with ideas.
Either way, I would love to see stories that are about the Colonial Marines without xenomorph involvement. Human on human combat would be awesome!
i remember those guys :) if you zoom in and watch em for a while they mimic having a burster explode out of their stomach... kinda like psycotic mimes! ;D
HA! I actually have not found the cult leader!
Of course, if the cult leader got killed, how would the mighty god aliens thrive? :D
Cultists they're great they respawn and they dont run i would be a Cultists if aliens come to earth

Maybe the alien would accept me then I could become a double agent working for the hive by letting them track me as i move to different places where humans are hiding, in trade for my own life.
Wishful thinking much?
