On the Obsidian forums it was posted that the Aliens RPG will not be using the Unreal 3 engine. Instead Obsidian will be creating their own engine for the game.
" We are developing our own technology for Project Connecticut (Aliens). I saw our first rendered level with some fancy effects today. "

Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
They could have saved a lot of time in development if they'd have used an exisiting engine.
Well, they've gotten two years at the moment.
Concrete Jungle took two years to make. :-\
I personally think Sega announced these games way too early. They should have waited until it was at least in the development stages.
But Fox made Vivendi remake the game like half way through.
They did?
How do you mean?
It was supposed to be GTA-style, roaming play and etc. Fox made them redo it halfway through production.
More proof that all respect for FOX has been lost.
Why did they make them redo it?
I just cant wait to see how FOX is gonna f*ck up this game.
So negative. Maybe we'll get a decent game here.

Yeah, its understandable when its about FOX changing something that sounds good so far. I mean, I think avp would've been decent if they hadn't forced that crappy pg-13 rating on it, I can only imagine what they're gonna do to this game, but, Im hoping its something good for their sake.
Actually glad to hear that they are doing their own engine for the game. Wonder how it'll turn out. I've grown tired of hearing/seeing the Unreal Engine this gen...
Has any new news been released about this engine?
Would be nice if they could get Cryengine2 (Crysis's engine).
