Only played ALIENS VS PREDATOR PC and ALIENS VS PREDATOR 2 PC also.
The first game was the best. If I remember right the ALIENS would retreat if set on fire and only return after being put out.
Also their attacks weren't just charge and swipe they appeared to have tactics.
On another note didn't they increase the height of the ALIENS in the AVP Classic re-release on Steam?
AvP3 - smooth animations, great graphic design on the models and textures.
AvP 1 ofc - great AI, completely random spawns each time you play - you can't memorize the enemies on the level, very aggressive behavior.

Also they moved mostly and primary on 4 legs which is wrong.

A mixture between AVP and AVP2010. I liked how the alien moved alien like in avp2010 and some of the attacks. But as for speed and power avp's alien had it.

I know its an old post, but I think AVP 2010 had the best looking Aliens.

I'd have to say the AvP 99 aliens were the most lethal, cunning, and left a lasting impression on me. I was never big on the comic book style of AvP2, and while the AvP 2010 aliens have the benefit of a next gen engine, and have a great design in their own right, their AI leaves a lot to be desired as others have said. They didn't feel nearly as hostile and engaging as they should.
In simple terms of playability, AvP2 had the best aliens for me. Though really, they didn't play that much differently from AvP1, and I simply played more of AvP2 so there's my answer.
I was kinda annoyed at the changes made to the aliens in AvP3. Felt too restricted and console-oriented.
