Well first off, f**k YEAH!
Second off POLVO SI!
Third off, I further suspect that we share sections of our minds because up to the point where the Pred stomps on the Alien I imagined the fight almost exactly the same for my comic. But off that.
I love the art, everything damn looks awesome my favorite shots being the alien grabbing the predator's leg and the shot where the Predator stabs the Alien as it roars. This is exactly how the fight in AvP should have been right up to the end :laugh:
They finally nukes the site from orbit! They were probably itching to do it :D

Brilliant fight
Chupacabras. One of the best renditions of an A/P clashdowns I've ever seen (bar the end of course), it shows just about every weapon and skill the original two creatures had, I liked how the Predator had precisely what the original one had! I especially loved the Alien on fours in the fourth panel. That's one great and dynamic shot, with the tail blade in first plan.

When the Alien 'defies human articulation', in my description, it's like... you know, HellBoy? When HellBoy and the second Sammael duke it out in the subway, HellBoy detaches a wall-phone and begins smashing it against the Monster, until it, when it has its back turned on the hero, turns the arm on its back and grabs HellBoy's arm. The moment in my fight should play out like that, kind of with the intention to show it's a f**king Alien and it's got unknown abilities you are never aware of; the tail 'fin' in my fight works as an effective blade, and it slashes through the Predator (the right-to-final blow). Also when the Alien violently takes off the mask of the Predator, it's not with the tongue but with the hand, like a grand bitchslap. :D So they aren't completely the same.

Don't know how the hell I missed this thread... on the comic: f**k yes, loved every pencil line. You could pretty much make a better fight scene with your pinky finger than the strause dunces could with their combines microscopic intellects, I was actually excited too see how you would make the fight turn out.
Good mix of Terminator and Alien for the xeno-borg too. And the comic wasn't thaaaaaat bad. The scene where the preds and xenos unknowingly teamed up on the xeno-termies made my day.

i should find a new Block, this one sucks. it's all rough and stuff. hard to erase, impossible to make tiny details. it's better fit for painting.

Only thing I can say negative is the legs seem a tad small.
But you got the general look down to a tee with the equipment and everything.
The rifle looks fantastic and the outfit is a great rendering of what we see in the films.
And love the idea of using the blow torch to light a smoke.
yeah the leg looks tiny, i suspect it's a combination of the bulkiness of the armor and the perspective. too late to fix it i guess.

the reason i went with a female Predator is because the Whip is not a very Masculine weapon(to me), so it was much easier to make it work with a more nimble and "elastic" body.
I love the 'ridged' mask. Very cool.
The Alien running is cool too... and I understand that your intention most likely was to make it look awkward, but it seems to be a bit goofy. :P
The female Predator's wristblade looks all-kinds of deadly, I mean, it's f**king enormous. A bear wouldn't stand a single slash.

Great job, I like the Alien especially. Neck seems really slightly longer however, is that intentional?
not really, i tried to use "suit proportions", so there's was a whole head under that neck. i used the greek standard(eight heads tall)then stretched it to match the alien as an experiment, and to find the ideal size according to the movie puppets.
originally they were going to be just shapes. then just shapes with skeletons. then i got carried away and spent several hours studying calves and shoulders.
i think i'm gonna take a jab at coloring them, but i bet it would be easier doing it in paint compared to the f**ked up system that photoshop has.

i wanted to the vietnam allegory wholesome by combining the feel of isolation and dread of a bush war with the one of the aliens, to make them a threat that just can't be predicted, can't be erradicated, and ultimately, can't be fought forever. just because you have a gun doesn't mean you're safe. just because you can kill them doesn't mean you can win. doesn't matter what you do, they will find a way to get the upperhand. and it'll cost you to lose respect for them.

Yeah yeah yeah. See I grew up with Aliens as my favorite. Alien was always kind of a strange and horrifying movie, but I fell in love with Aliens probably just because of my appreciation for sci-fi military and combat in general. I've dreamed about fighting with xenos since I was about 10 years old (first time I watched Aliens, lololo) and the possibilities have never been touched on outside of the Aliens movie itself.
Thats what I want to do in my comic series. Show how human combat units would adapt to fight the alien, implement new tactics, and struggle to survive, but also really explore how the aliens would react, evolve, and destroy everything in their path.
I mean if you think about it, we've never seen an Alien thats lived longer than a month. That's the main source of awesome for any creator, that you can still tap into all that mystery about what the Aliens would become, especially with how smart we've seen them be in the films over such a short period of time. But no, we get generic space bugs rushing soldiers like a Chinese wave attack. Its' just so uninspired, old, and stupid to do to the aliens themselves, like cutting your own balls off, creatively speaking.

I mean, you could also go into genetic memory or hive memory. They touch on that briefly in the Female War book, that the aliens would spread and learn faster than humans could anticipate, and I think that's pretty awesome. If you come up with some great tactic to neutralize one hive, the rest will know how to deal with it. Sure, it's kind of Borg, but if handled correctly (as always) could open an entire mess of interesting things about the alien without going against any established canon. It would also be great because if one hive was destroyed, the others would grow stronger or more intelligent from the experiences of the defeated hive.
That's why it's just mind-blowing that people can't come up with great stories. So many people on the Galaxy, obviously us included, have ideas about expanding the Aliens that are not only great, but spring from the lethality and plain awesomeness that is the Alien itself... Just makes me mad that we keep getting wankers at the helm.
Its the responsibility, nay, the duty of creative geniuses to work their way into proper positions of authority where the greatness of the Alien universe can be expressed.

exactly! i have a million ideas of how Aliens could be made so extremely dangerous even for the might of a 22th century interstelar armada. using the PDTs of dead marines to get past turret defences, stealing active mines and burrowing them in their hives to trap intruders, poisoning water by dropping dead things into it... and making not just themselves but their presence be a hazard, their hives being incredibly contaminating for the plant life, their decimation of the fauna, even their deep structures opening magmatic flows and causing seismic activity. showing how they terraform worlds like we do as they advance, and making them more hostile to human life. Aliens should never stop getting more and more dangerous as we discover more about them.

lot of things. the chest is meant to resemble concept art from alien3. the womb is an egg, which, in that position, looks a lot like a pregnant belly, in an allegory to egg-morphing and whatever the hell happened in Labyrinth. and the skeleton... i don't even know. just a death spook, probably.
And wow, the marines art is fantastic. I really love the body studies too. The female looks especially smooth and curvy.

oh, it's pretty small for what i originally had in mind. fact is, i've been less and less capable to build sequences lately. lack of elaborate ideas, time, and artistic development regarding how much i can tell with composition and style alone as opposed to full sequences has made me clash with another problem of mine: i can't write for shit. i am in that horrible, horrible stage in which i can tell how damn bad everything i put down is, i can tell every noticeable hole, every embarrassingly silly, awkward and tasteless idea and i am numbed to how the f**k to fix it or what to replace it. and as i revise, i notice the original idea starts to fade, and i end up scrapping everything thinking it was ill-conceived in the first place and i wasted my damn time.

I know that feel. I've had similar feelings trying to make up a story for my stuff. I get hesitant on whether the ideas in my head are as cool to anyone else as they are to me. I'm much more comfortable at making dudes that I think look cool and occasionally getting a cool background. But having them interact in a narrative that is entertaining to anybody but myself is another thing entirely.

Dude, amazing. Amazing. I will comment on this more later, but your ability to tell stories within each page is well above-average compared to whatever "professional" comics are out there. It's clean, full of energy, and doesn't overuse comic format cliches. Creative while being accessible and absorbing, and the emotions you summon mixed with your technical accuracy make a for a meaty, delicious stew of a read. Not to mention the maturity and tension that so many creators fail at when trying to do something Alien.

I usually fall into a sad pattern here... goes like this: think up an idea for a glorious entry in the AvP fanverse, set to redefine and refresh the entire franchise with fan-made greatness > begin work on said greatness > slowly lose energy and crawl to a stop as you realize that no matter how good it is, it's not going to matter because you're just some fan cooking up another fan story. :-\
I've made one of my life goals to write and/or illustrate an officially recognized Aliens story. I can't seem to get over the hurdle of the fan labyrinth to progress any further.
Once I've made it (trololo) then the true potential can finally be realized, in an exhaustive reboot of the entire Aliens EU. I mean, we're not getting any more films... the best weapon to repair and redeem our beloved xenomorph is the power of image and word!
Must.. not.. waste.. potential..

You continue to 'wow' with those breathtaking POV shots, and I'm loving the creepy build of atmosphere you've got going. The shadows are applied in all of the right places, giving the navigation of dark corridors a goddamned glorious Jim Cameron touch that Randy Pitchford can only masturbate to under the sheets.
Sucks hard about the tablet, but as shown from that Alien drawing, the wonderful artwork doesn't have to stop in the meantime... excited to see where the story goes, and can't wait until you get an operational tablet back in your possession.

"Official" is not a badge of vindication for effort, it's not a statement of relevance and it sure as hell isn't a seal of quality, so why bother? i will do what i want with Aliens, i'll get what i want from it and i'll make sure it's good enough for myself and everyone that supports me. If it amounts to nothing, so be it, but for whoever wants to look, this is what i can do, and this is what they'll find.

This is what I've been waiting for. Go all out man, this is the start of something that could be phenomenal. Love some of the perspectives in the first page, especially that half behind view of the pulse rifle in the waving marines hand in first panel. Thats the kind of shit that usually takes me hours to get right. The problem with the dark horse comics is there has always been a severe lack of true Colonial Marines vs Aliens stuff (three world war sucked hard) that I've always been hungry for.
Not particularly a fan of the green but I can deal. Only real criticism I have is to make the marines faces a little more distinct. A goatee here, maybe a scar there. Otherwise this is damn fine.
