2700+ theaters....you guys think that is a good number and how you think that will effect the opening weekend/overall gross of the movie. ???
Don't scare me man, I just went to my theater today and I asked if I could get a midnight ticket for Predators and they told me "Predators isn't on the system yet" and I was "not even on July 9th?" and she was like "nope I got nothing".....

Ya stupid ass AVP got 3,395 theaters in its release and the new twlight movie got near 3700........man this sucks
Yes that is scary :( ; so far my theater hasn't uploaded the schedule for Friday so I don't know what will happen, even though I think it'll be shown since there's a ticket advertisement on my theater's website, and a poster set up in the actual theater.

Karate Kid opened to 3,663, I think that Fox doesnt have faith in the flick bringing that much cash.
The Last Airbender opened to 3,169, though. But that flick was swamped with bad press.
Get Him to the Greek did actually opened to 2,697 and it ended up making 17 million.
the new twilight actually set the record opening in 4468 theaters, the widest release ever.
the 2700 theater opening is not a surprise, the last actual predator movie was in 1992 and the last 2 movies to involve predator were terrible and its coming off a total domestic box office flop in avpr. it makes sense that its only opening in 2700 theaters.

I checked my local theater, nothing.
I have to drive an hour and a half to see it on Thursday night.
They are playing it at my theater, but no midnight showing.
I will have to catch it at 1:00PM on July 9th. I'm going to ask one more time tomorrow before I buy my ticket, after all the local IMAX theater is right down stairs where I live lol :)
finally movies.com/fandango updated the listings for Thurday and Friday and the theater I usually go to will have a midnight screening, so I'll be there.
THe cinemark next to me is having a midnight showing and i got my ticket. When i went today to see eclipse (stfu) i asked how many midnight they had sold and the lady said only 10 tickets:S
Well, I might start the official "how far did you drive to see "Predators" thread? If not in my town, 2.5 hours baby! The wife will roll her eyes, but it's my birthday present so she won't be able to say no!
Anyone know if there's a way to see which theaters it's being released at?

If the US is anything like how our cinemas work, the midnight showing are entirely down to the discretion of that cinema and that cinema chain. Depends if they think it'll sell out.

No Midnight where I live. First showing is at noon. I'll be there.
Well I am extremely relieved to say that my Carmike theater has updated the showings, and Predators is up for Friday yay! However no midnight showing from the looks of it; even so as I said before I got my family to all see it on Friday to see what they think. Now I can stop worrying and start quivering in anticipation again ;D .
Those who have midnight showings enjoy yourselves, though I think we all know you will ;D . People who have to travel to another distant theater just keep in mind the movie is a Predator movie and its worth it ;) .
I have about 4 movie theatres near me and all four of them are showing it lol

The RMC in my town has it and I just got back from buying my ticket for the 1:05 pm show, they didn't have a midnight showing.
Same for me. Got the 1:00PM show.
I just checked mine, and yes, PREDATORS will be there FRIDAY morning. :)
The theater I normally go to just put it up, after I picked up my ticket for another theater...

well where I live we have an AMC theatre and a famous players theatre. When a movie is released on a AMC theatre its usually a bad thing. The bad movies or movies they think is bad go to AMC. Its all because the avp movies.
Really wanted a midnight showing for this movie tomorrow.
Also funny how AMC rates is 14A and famous players rates it R
The AMC closest to me is not playing Predators at all. Just three theaters in the Los Angeles area of California and that's it really.

really jealous. For the past 2 years I only watching movies at a midnight showing first day so I was first to watch it. Guess this movie isn't big enough to get that treatment
Ya it sucks tho cause it's still an hour drive.
Seeing one of the late night July 9th showings at the theatre near me.
I just checked my local theater listings and its not showing in my town....nor is it showing on any cinemas near at all.

Seeing the midnight showing at an AMC in san diego tonight! So excited, it should be awesome!!! ;D
