So there are 9 killers brought to the game reserve. They are:
Mercenary
Spetsnaz
Yakuza
Sayeret sniper
Serial killer
Death row convict
Death squad member
Cartel enforcer
Vietnam soldier
What do you think of them? And more importantly, who would you pick?
Mercenary
Preferred actor: Adrian Brody or Vin Diesel
Weapons: SCAR-H, Magnum
A loner yes, but in a group the alpha.
Spetsnaz
Preferred actor: No change required
Weapon:Mini-gun or M240, Makarov, ballistics knife
Green beret
Preferred actor: John Cena
Weapon: M16, desert eagle
Another alpha that hates mercs.
S.A.S.
Preferred actor: Tim Roth
Weapon: FAL, USP .45
S.W.A.T.
Preferred actor: IDK
Weapon: UMP 45, Glock 18
Taliban
Preferred actor: Faran Tahir, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, or Jimmy Jean-Louis
Weapon: AK-47, RPG
Somali Pirate
Preferred actor: Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, or Jimmy Jean-Louis
Weapon: AK-47, M9
Big game hunter, served in the first desert storm
Preferred actor: Mark Pellegrino, with a slight Australian accent
Weapon: I do not hunt, so... sniper, big ass knife, perhaps a bow, the jungle.
He is not a killer in the sense of the others, but he knows his way in a forest, he is cocky as hell, and that's what gets him killed.
Convict maybe a skin head... I am 25/75 on it, in favor of not.
Preferred actor: Walter Goggins, or Edward Norton
Weapon: 10 shivs
"I usually carry 10 or so shivs on me, at all times, in case of close encounters." "How do the guards not find 'em?" "You don't want to know"
He and the S.W.A.T. know each other.
Yakuza hit-man/enforcer
Preffered actor: Tim Kang, or the current
Weapon: Shurikens, and dual sia, a SIG Sauer, silenced, and eventually a katana
Brazilian/Mexican enforcer, I could not choose between the current, or a CODMW2 militia man!
Preferred actor: The current or no one.
Weapon: twin Uzis.
Also the Vietnam soldier, he would be just the same.
What are yours? like mine?
I argue with the whole Taliban thing for one reason only...
...They suck at fighting.
Yet they are still were able to force Soviets to leave the Afghanistan as they now forcing our coalition. They are tough motherf**kers, I wouldn`t underestimate them.
They knew their territory extremely well.

I would. In a stand up fight they don't present anything near the same calibre of strength that the rest of the listed guys do. Its simple attrition. Not exactly something a Predator would be proud to decimate. The only thing they seem to even get right half the time is making bombs that make a real mess of things. That could be made good use of in Predators, but based on what we know of Predators, they'd see right through it.

We
lost because we had politicians playing general, telling them what they can and cant do. The same reason the war in Iraq took this long to finally even out. When you let Generals command the military, you get victories.
Misguided, ignorant radicals that only have a fighting chance against civilisation because civilisation is too stupid and decadent to give them both barrels wouldn't make challenging prey... and frankly doesn't deserve representation.
I agree with The Predator's choices for prey. They are the ultimate of killers on an individual basis. Some are really good at pure strength, some are good at tracking, some are good at hand-to-hand and CQB. The group is well rounded as is.
British S.A.S anybody?
With a Soap Mactavish sorta of persona.
Is there actualy nine characters in Predators? I thought there were five?

I don`t want to hurt your feelings, but this is just the way it is. Nobody ever concurred Afghanistan. It is quite impossible excluding genocide of it`s population. And first bad move which is leading to failure in war is underestimating your enemy. ::)

The objective is not to conquer, but to restructure. The big difference between the coalition and Russia, is Russia had the United States on the other end of the pipe feeding the Afghanies supplies, weapons, and limited training. Just like the communists fed the NVA and VC.
Again, a war of attrition is not a good measure of the strength of individual fighters. An IED can castrate a dozen men, that doesnt make the person who placed the IED a good pick for hunting, and battling in "single combat."
The Predators are picking well trained, experienced fighters to contend with, or at least well trained persons who know how to kill effectively. The doctor/surgeon would have very detailed understandings of human anatomy and the quickest method to kill them. This kind of information
could be used against the Predators given that they are humanoids.

You increase their literacy rate, schools, books, bring their employment rate above single digits. Make being a law abiding citizen more prosperous than being a terrorist, and you win.

Again, I think the Predators have chosen a pretty solid group of killers to toy with.
Instead of not reading the post, and arguing over who is the better killer, is anyone going to post their picks? From today or from history?
QuoteThe Predators are picking well trained, experienced fighters to contend with, or at least well trained persons who know how to kill effectively.
I think that Afghanistan partisans also have individuals that would make predator interested. Think about it, they are fighting somewhat endless war. They have poor equipment and still are able to resist. Their skills combined with radical interpretation of their religion makes them tough opponent.
QuoteYou increase their literacy rate, schools, books, bring their employment rate above single digits. Make being a law abiding citizen more prosperous than being a terrorist, and you win.
And how you`d do this? They do believe that killing infidels and dieing while doing so is straight way to heaven. Do you really believe that you can give them better offern than their priests?
Quote...And knowing your enemy is the first step to winning, and most importantly you do not let politicians make decisions relating to warfare. Giving your opponent can be just as lethal. Hesitation can make you just as dead.
You should also estimate you chanses for winning. And if you know your enemy you should be aware that some wars can`t be won.
Has anyone confirmed that Royce is a Merc? as far as the trailer and teaser and such have shown, he's a soldier in an unamed army.
Also, where has there been anything that says a Yakuza is a sword expert? Yes they're wear tattoos like you and i wear clothes but from what i know Yakuza are Japanese Mafia that use guns - so this leads me to believe that Hanzo is either Samurai or Ninja trained.
i promise you he is a merc

Samurai and Ninja don't swan about in tailor made suits. Plus the sword will be for cool factor.

Here's seven people I'd use as killers:
1. Instead of a merc a Delta Force Sergent - Don't know who it should be played by
2. I guess I'd leave the female South American blacks ops soldier - Isabelle
3. S.A.S. soldier - Don't care who plays him
4. The Yakuzu hitman - I guess the same actor
5. An Italin Mafai hitman - Still don't care
6. The disgraced doctor by day and serial killer by night - I would keep Topher Grace, he has that character where you would not expect him to be a psychopath
7. African Death Squad - Still don't care

Just my theory, i can't find anything that says a Yakuza wield swords, infact they are'nt even secretive. But my thought was Hamzo is a Yakuza who's been trained in the Ninja arts or even a Samurai master. Samurai is nomore than a sword fighting style now, like anyother martial arts.

Samurai - Japanese knight. Non existent for +/- 200 years.
Ninja - Japanese assassins. Have nothing to do with samurai, and used ninja-to weapon which is a sword different all together from katana.
Yakuza - Japanese crime groups like Italian Mafia e.g. Have nothing to do with samurai not ninja, as they didn`t originated form nobleman nor ninja clans. They are known for tattoos that cover their whole body.
I don`t know why Yakuza is associated with sword in media, it is probably due to generic vision of Japanese character.
I'd only change one and that would be isabelle i'd use Michelle rodrigues, damn shes fine! ;D
