One of the biggest rip-offs the public has allowed to happen to them: "We have no idea how to continue the story! Let's just ignore the other movies!"

As long as people can live with that kind of logic, they deserve to live in their cages that they'll never notice.

Sienna Guillory - love the film or hate it, she was great in RE Apocalypse. She'd do it well. I don't know if people would accept anyone else as Ripley, but perhaps a new hero.

I disagree. Batman Begins was awesome, sometimes the best way forward is to start afresh. In the way of Aliens or Predator, I don't think this applies though. Its different. Personally, I don't want any female lead character. Make a change. Make em male.

Well, I guess any realism or credibility toward the Alien movies can be sucked right out of the airlock.

You would need a female actor who is tall, around 5'10"-6'2" a decent build for a woman, but not look like she lives in a gym.

She should be young, and a good actor, but not look cute like a little girl.

Just another thought, Brenda Strong would would be awesome. Watch Starship Troopers 2. Her performance is spot on, especially at the end.  8)

Maggie Gyllenhaal would be a great female lead in an Alien movie. I don't know if she's much for mainstream features though. She seems to prefer indie films.

I think the difference between Ripley and other fighting ladies was she wasn´t the "pretty doll" like Alba or Kate Beckinsale ... But..uumm, I would like to see Kate Winslet in this part. She´s cool  ;D

Yes, PLEASE.  I'm a woman and I'm sick of this "Yay I'm woman hear me roar" women.  I think a male lead in an Alien film would be awesome.

OR

An ensemble.  Aliens was successful because although it WAS still about Ripley, there were MANY other characters to become attached to.  I think AVP tried to do that, but they failed and ended up killing off about 5 just to get some action in.  Lame.   :'(

Some things should never be mixed.

I think we actually do not need a "Ripley" type character.

We would be just fine have Alien movies, without any recurring characters.

Let the Aliens themselves be the stars I say.

As for Siggy yes she was new.  The likes of Kotto, Stanton, Skerritt, Cartwright, et al were not though.

Besides, most rater R film goes like myself simply can see boobs anytime we want, and in person too.
