Saw the trailer last night. I don't like movies that are the gateway for a whole new franchise, but this one looks like it will be ok to watch.
I liked how Surfer fell through his own surfboard to look behind him, it was very badass.
Yet, I don't like the teaser pic of him, his eyes, they are just to fake looking, I would have been fine if they kept them plain white.
That looks good, but I hate the cast, I particularly hate that Johnny actually says "flame on", I hate (and love) Jessica Alba - if only there was talent to go with that beauty.
I do like the character of the silver surfer, but don't know what to make of him in this film.
That one scene alone is probably enough to make it better than FF though. Not a hard thing to accomplish.
Don't you just love the flame effects on Johnny though? I just watched the teaser again and really like the effects. They're outstanding.
I'd like to get back to school and watch it on our school's widescreen Mac computers. I have dialup, so I am forced to use youtube.

Yes, it looks well. But CGI shit looks just as fantastic.
However, the Punisher 2 film will be note-worthy not for it's looks, at very leaqst. So I'm looking forward a lot to that. Marvel know their stuff for the most part. FF2 is just too up in the air, quality wise, for me to be comfortable with.

Ive just seen the new Fantastic Four 2 trailer and I thought i'd start a topic here on it.

No film is perfect. They all have some flaws. You like Predator don't you? As much as I love it, some film critic could point out a million problems with it. It's not gonna make you like Predator any less, is it?

Going by the first film it has a lot of problems to deal with, but they've taken steps to improve the sequel. A better thing costume, bringing in the best character from the comic (the silver surfer originated in FF right?).
If it goes properly over the top, which is really what it needs to do to be enjoyable, it could be very entertaining. We already have superhero films made to be "realistic" (you know what I mean), more of the same with weaker characters, sorry FF, doesn't work. Over the top action set pieces, and a world destroying galactic super-being would be a nice change of pace.

But if you took a formula from the X-Men films and applied it to Fantastic Four you would end up with far less satisfying results.
X-Men has a certain serisousness that FF doesn't. There is greater conflict with the characters on a whole, and a message (many messages) to go with X-Men, particularly due to the widespread nature of the mutations occuring. The same cannot be said for FF.
On the other hand, it is perfectly okay for FF to have a character like the Silver Surfer (we're talking about his origins here, not his look or abilities) and even Galacticus.
I should mention that I'm talking in terms of the films, not the comics entire.
Yeah, I know what you are saying. But for me, personally, there is nothing in it but glazzy effects, and that isn't enough.

Who knew the T-100 could surf as well??
T2 was made in 91. 15 and a half years ago, and I still think the T-1000 looks better.
Hopefull it will have better acting this time.

sure hope it does well. In my opinion it still won't come close to Spidey-3, or the Transformers.

uh actually he's going to be a storm cloud in the movie.
it was said that he is a storm cloud, but then this picture was released so it kinda made everyone go... Uh? Cloud? So maybe theyve changed it... Maybe they haven't. I don't think they have, but I would like it changed to the original Galactus
I hope to god that the storm cloud is just covering up galactus, just like independance day clouds of death (what i like to call them) were covering up the alien ships so...

the first one had a pg13 rating in the U.S. Which could possibly mean it won't have as much action. Which I really hope I am wrong about.

So I just saw it today. I'll admit, was very surprised. I didn't go in expecting much and it wasn't a masterpiece by any standards, but it was a lot better than F4 1 and Spiderman 3. They actually tried for some semi-decent character developement!
Pretty funny with some cool stuff in. Also, I was the only one who laughed at Reed proposing a tachyon pulse would stop the Surfer.
Did the stormloud at least had galatus's olors or something...did it talk? Did silver surfer talk to it?

Just saw it, it was borderline crap but better than the first film. The Silver Surfer has some cool moments. Be wary there are some hardcore corny moments in this flick. I figured the Doom Surfer was going to be terrible, but it was pretty decent.
The interesting thing about Galactus is that he may be a storm cloud, or he may not be. There is a portion towards the end where Silver Surfer confronts Galactus and I could have sworn there were subtle hints of machinery behind all the clouds. Then again those could just be homage to his look from the comics, like his shadow on Saturn.

Just saw it, i was expecting more, but it is a good movie.
Silver Surfer was the best thing about the movie.
I loved it.
When we see the inside of Galactus, there is a flaming helmet shape.
The cloud, and its other victims, was done well.
Doom rocked. His fight scene rocked.
When the guy got blown up, I was thinking... why is this PG?

So, if he wanted to, Silvy could have killed Galactus whenever he wanted?
I cannot believe I am saying this, I actually enjoyed the movie, do not tell me how, but this movie was actually good. The burning mass of Galactus was what made me forgive their decision to make him a damn cloud, Galactus was even referred as a "HE", and i think i did see eyes, when th Surfer was getting close to him. Hopefully when they do the Sufer movie, they will at least do something to make Galactus look like the humanoid Galactus, cause in the comics Galactus is seen differently to most planets that he comes to devour, who's to say that in one other planet he nis not seen as a humanoid type of giant.
And yes, I agree that the ending was like "huh?" If the Sufer did that, what was stopping him from "killing" Galactus in the first place?

Well, I've seen it at last. I liked it, will be getting the DVD when it comes out. There were a few scenes that were a little silly. There were a couple of funny jokes. Effects were great. Kinda thought the ending was too rushed. If the Silver Surfer could have destroyed Galactus at any time, why didn't he before? And how did he do it? I thought the film was way too short too. Shame there wasn't more action scenes with the Surfer.
I didn't like Jessica Alba's hair or blue contacts either.
I finally saw it and i thought it was great, like Cellien said it was a lot better than Spiderman 3.
