Quite surprised by the date. I thought it would be the middle of 2009 before we saw it.
The GI article said early 2009, so I'm guessing Gearbox realized they can release it this year. Or Sega is forcing Gearbox to work faster for a Christmas release date. I really hope it's the former.

This is the most hyped I have been about a video game in a long time. I love the Halo series, but man... Aliens + Colonial Marines + Good Writers (Battlestar Galactica) + Gearbox+Unreal Engine 3 = All time high levels of hype!
...Now ...Just gotta make sure to stay alive long enough to be able to experience this epic event. :P

I am really happy that they are going back to the events on the Sulaco, it's a story begging to be told.
I thought it was a little strange that they would release that huge GameInformer article this early. Ah well, another great game to look forward to this year (besides GTA 4, Silent Hill 5, GoW 2, etc).
Most videogames today get delayed about 30 times before they are released. Don't hold your breath is all I'm saying.

Sounds great but I'm just worried about forced development. I would rather wait and let them take their time rather then forcing it and worrying about gliches other great ideas they had but couldn't do it do to time constraints.

Who would you rather have writing this? Joss Whedon? The premise of the game already sounds great. Whatever comes of it, I'm sure this game will be far better than anything written involving Aliens and the silver screen since, say, 1986.

I really like the actual graphics of the game. The thing I'll valore will be the duration. I want long games. Crysis and more others are short for me, and that's a problem. Don't you?
Amazing graphics, incredible AI, dark corridors, blood, fear... Aliens coming from that corridors... All that things will be awesome, but if it's a short game.. :(
