If i was going to make AVP3 i would make it based on Aliens/Predator: Deadliest of the Species. I would have Jamie Chung (From I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) to play as Caryn Delacroix.

You cant be serious. An Alien Queen teaming up with a human? Terrible, worse than the pred and human team up.
If there was an AVP in space or another Alien film with marines, Thomas Jane and Adam Baldwin would work in my opinion, Kevin McKidd too, perhaps. The main characters would need to be more rugged types, not glossy teens. I think having good actors that aren't household names is the way to go personally.
Im not sure who they could cast as marines. Maybe some of those wrestler guys as mentioned, and maybe someone like Michael Jai White or something, I don't know.

Temuera Morrison is a good choice there. I'm thinking of colonial marines with this cast too.
Gerald butler from 300 as the head marine. Just seeing him all pissed off duking it out with a predator would be awsome. Hes not an expensive actor to get and would cost less than vin diesel and look more intimidating. I know he is picky with his scripts now.
Gotta have a wrestler in there as a nod to predator. But it be a role where that character would die. I'd pick steve austin. His attitude in that prison movie would work as some tough talking marine and put ventura to shame.
For a synthoid, that chick who played lady death strike in x men 2. That role was pretty robotic and emtionless, plus she is a pretty physical actress. I think she be a shoe in. This is where a good plot twist could come in. The marines don't know what their going after, but she does and is acid resistant this time to make sure she comes back with a sample at all cost... and for good fight scenes. She's ready for aliens, but not predators.
For a comedic marine role, bruce campbell acting like he does in the tv series burn notice. Acting like a washed up drunk badass. But he's gotta be killed by an alien, and then finished off by a predator. For all the smart ass jokes he could give, he'd be equally tortured and beaten up just like in the evil dead movies.
Ron pearlman is a good actor, but man his face has gone to crap with all that plastic surgery. Roles like hellboy and marv hid that.

In my head, I see these people (i wouldn't mind the Rock) working as inconspicuous engineers or maybe an evil person for the company man. They have been in the marines together and are friends which would mean we hurt more if one of them dies.
But have it so they aren't the main screen time. Like they don't really matter until the shit blows up

Maybe its just me, but I think Katee Sackhoff or Milla jovovich would make good AVP characters. However, maybe its time to cut the whole strong female thing out alltogether. Weaver made it work with Ripley, but im starting to doubt that another actress could make us care about her character like Sigourney did......Oh well.

Hmmm, this is a hard one.
It might not be possible to get big name actors, unless they are already contracted to Fox. I'd like to see an established actor like Hugh Jackman (Wolverine could fight aliens all day and not have to worry about the blood, but then you'd have a crossover film again), Sean Bean, Viggo Mortenson, etc. It would really depend on the competence of those involved. It would have to start with a director who cares about the franchise and wants it to succeed. If we had that to start with, plus a good budget, then the other things like casting and story would improve as well.

I really believe with the right director he could really reach his full potential and pull off a serious role as a Solider or maybe even a leader like Dutch. Be nice to have a hero like Hicks or Dutch, its ok having a female hero as long as their believable pulling it off but going back to a male hero I think is the best idea.

Gerard Butler-USCM Seargant(battle hardened field leader, reveared by his squadmates)
Christian Bale(bearded)-USCM Corporal(quiet soldier, doesn't stand out initially, but when shit goes awry, he becomes the hero, my Hicks archetype)
Cillian Murphy-USCM Synthetic(science and logic are his specialty, huge blue eyes give him that natural synthetic look)
Chris Evans-USCM Private(He's dead serious in "Sunshine", and cracks jokes in "Fantastic Four", so I thought a mix of those two characters, and he could be my Hudson archetype)

My thoughts exactly. The last 2 films have caused enough drama. We don't need the drama that IS a pop singer everyday life.

If this were the first AvP, and it actually had talented people behind it and had quality and a good script, she would have done it, sure. Look at all the actors from Batman Begins/The Dark Knight. Who'd ever expect THEM to be in a Batman movie after Batman and Robin? But there they are, because of the talent involved, and of the script.
The main reason they're in them because's they're realistic and serious. There was a time when any actor could pick up an Alien scipt and have no doubts about taking part; thats not the case now. Quality deminishes with each movie.

Why would they need to hunt - if they reproduced like reptiles.. the females just lay a shitload of eggs and then they hatch and the little things just wander off and can survive on their own.
All of this hunter/gatherer stuff is based around human reproduction.
Reptiles don't do that - they just do whatever they want. They would even eat their children. Sounds more predator-ish to me. :P

Mark Whalberg, Matt Damon, or even Will Smith I'd be fine with. All of them are good actors, and know action movies.
I think the actors in the first avp would have been fine if they were given a decent script and a better director. I cant say the same for the AVPR cast. I think they would have screwed it up even if they were given a awesome script and a good director. A alien or predator story just cant win when the character are teenage pizza delivery twerps.
The AvP:R cast was better than most people give them credit. Remember: an actor is only as good as the script he has to work with.
No he's not. Some actors can sell hokey dialogue and some can f**k up good dialogue. There's more factors than just someone reading words off a page.

I think that if avp 3 is made, they should continue from avp1 showing the aftermath of the queen getting dunked and Lex with the predators as she was given the staff at the end by the elder. It could show her going to the pred homeworld etc. Also it could get written into the story of how the aliens were created etc.

The real tragic hero was Scar. If he didn't have the facehugger in him he'd be a hero.
How can she be called a hero? She did not kill a Predator. Scar was
this close to killing her if not for her giving him the plasma caster.
Alexa was a hero because she straight up fought against a 12 meters long Apocalypse-laying double-mouthed bomechanical Monster from outer space. Once on the surface, any other girl would've ran away. Alexa had the balls to f**king stab an Alien Queen. That's not something you always see now, do you?

c) Defeated? It's subjective what happened to the Queen. She must have froze off again in the icy water. Defeated would mean that she killed the queen. Arnie and Glover defeated a Pred each. Now that's what defeated means.

You dont get it do you? Where would she know where to run to? The pyramid and basically almost the entire surface of the whaling station was gone... she did not have any sort of communication with her except for that vehicle and besides she was in in the middle of Antarctica. Unless we were showed in the movie that there was a rescue party coming from the ship... where would/can she run to?

She was full of fear throughout the entire movie since seeing the Preds and aliens for the first time.
Of course a defeat doesnt necessarily means a kill but this an AvP film where the audience want to see something die, not defeated but not dead like a kickboxing match.

What evidence is there that it would be BAD?
The whole topic is about who we'd like to see in AVP3. The hope that the acting will be good kind of requires you to hope that the movie will be too, no?
Throughout the 80s, Doctor Who fans had to put up with a whole bunch of crap in between the occasional good serials, which became more and more infrequent in the mid-eighties right up to Sylvester McCoy's first season in the role. But with his second season, things got awesome again, and suddenly after all those years Doctor Who was a good show. The same thing, in my opinion, has happened again with Steven Moffat taking over the show in Series 5.
Never lose hope, fellas. Once I get James Cameron or Robert Rodriguez to see my AVP3 ideas, things will improve.
