Amazing, but if you can pull it off with colors, Iw ill praise you!! I don't have the sack to try and color my drawings. color to me is my enemy.

aliens are so hard to color. i mean, people do the queen in blues and grays sometimes. and the regular aliens in muted putrid browns (or sometimes, vibrant ones, ala alien 3). not a really great color palette. i think giger's one of the few people who can actually use that near-gray color scheme effectively. i know i can't.

i sort of like them in BLACK with just a hint of coloration from the gloss in their exoskeletons, and cast lighting. i especially like the queen in black.

i probably won't have time to work on her tonight, need to catch up on the sleep. more this weekend, i wanna see how far i can take this. i normally get bored and move on at some point. adhd is MY enemy.

This looks really awesome. If I had to point some issues, I would say it's the upper teeth. Seems kind of too big.

it's possible. i like to emphasize the teeth on aliens. i don't know why. it'll probably look a little different if and when i put some gums in.

But other than that - splendid job. Can't wait to see the finished pic.

Looks really good man.  You did that in 2 days...how long were sessions?  If you can add the Loader, it'll make that pic that much better.  8)

i dunno, a couple hours? i lose track. it's kind of a meditative thing. i used to doodle aliens in class all the time.

i did a drawing in like fourth grade once, on two sheets of notebook paper, of ripley in the loader fighting the queen. it was awesome, considering i was in the fourth grade. if i saw it today, it'd probably suck. this feels like it's an update of that, only it'll be two 18x24 sheets. this is only a small crop of it.

on 18x24 paper. from a photo reference. i'm not rich (or insane) enough to have one of those super accurate maquettes.

this will be mostly ink when i'm done, though i think i'm going to use some (colored?) pencil too. you can see i've put some pencil-shading in on the crown, to work out where to put the pen. i think it's interesting to show the process sometimes. this is about two night's work. will post updates as i go...

it'd be cool to make this a fight scene. i'll have to find a good picture of ripley in the loader.
