To be honest, I never considered the idea of mixing franchises or characters together. I don't see it that way.
My thought process for this mod went like this:
At first I wanted to make a new sound pack, to hear something different than AvP2's default sounds. I thought, hmm, I like Star Wars so I'll make a Star Wars sound pack. Then I thought, I guess I should add Star Wars music too. Then I kept adding more and more Star Wars content. Eventually I began to add character skins.
Not once did I think about the fact that I was merging two franchises together. I just focused on one thing at a time, in the same manner that any skinner who makes a character skin focuses on the skin alone, in which he/she isn't thinking about any conflict the skin may have with the realism or purity of the AvP universe (unless the skin is supposed to be based on something from the AvP franchises).
Only until the mod was around 90% completed (excluding maps) did I think about the fact that I merged two franchises together. However, I sill don't view the mod as such.
Basically, I view every file in terms of fun factor and the quality of the file itself. Not whether or not it "fits" with the game's universe. Thats what makes skinners like gh0std0wn, x-Mandalore-x, RaptorRed and I unique (this also pertains to some other modders and mappers as well). Almost every other skinner out there focuses on the same alien, predator, and avp themes. Therefore, we have more creative freedom to do what we want when making files.
Those who are stuck in the logic that mods/skins/maps should only be based on alien, predator, and avp themes wind up missing out on/not enjoying most of the custom content people create. These people are basically the ones that only like Projam, AJL, and skins and maps based on characters/scenes from the movies.
And there you go, I went off on a tangent.
I can see how you wouldn't like it though, as I don't like to see AvP in Star Wars games. But since this is a fps, I'm extremely flexible and allow anything to enter the game as long as it's fun and of high quality.

I just implied it is not a total SW conversion. I don't like the mix of these franchises at all. Alien and Predator was hard enough to swallow (but great AvP1&2 games made it edible), SW is IMO impossible. I just wouldn't like to see a jedi and a predator in the same room.
This is definitely my personal taste, I can understand some like the mix.

It is a total conversion. I only chose to keep aliens as aliens and predators as predators (although with weapon changes). So I basically wanted Jedi vs. Sith vs. Bounty Hunters/Predators vs. Aliens. The gameplay in the mod is the same as default AvP2 (to keep the mod client side for joining any server at will) but it has more changes than any other mod for AvP2.
Changes include an enormous amount of skins, sounds, worldtextures, music, cres.dll (text changes), maps, models, menus, etc. Basically everything but gameplay is altered completely. More than enough to be classified as a total conversion mod.
The 3 campaigns will seem to take place in the Star Wars universe to some extent, as the environments are still the same (this will eventually be fixed with my worldtexture add-on which is taking me forever to finish). But there are two custom singleplayer maps and four custom multiplayer maps that are set in actual Star Wars locales in the mod.

Also, if you like the Star Wars mod, you might want to look into two add-on mods I made to complement the Star Wars mod. The first is a soundpack add-on which consists of 45 different mini soundpacks. Each is designed to replace the human taunts to your favorite Star Wars character. The second is a lightsaber replacement pack. It basically changes the default blue lightsaber in the Star Wars mod to one of 28 different sabers.
