Apart from The Predator now I think honestly.

Same. Regardless of the actual finished film, the behind-the-scenes stuff is always interesting to me.

I don't get this mentality going around, where people give what are obviously terrible movies a pass because a worse piece of trash in the franchise is born.

Agreed, but Alien/BR/Predator BTS' always interests me.

Love how unseen footage is still popping up 15years later

Me too, it's the gift that keeps on giving.  I love watching these videos when they come out, especially seeing the actors outside of character.  Like Sanaa Lathan, she just seems so chill. "What do you think the Predators smell like"

Nah, this movie is the first piece of trash in a long line of trash up to today. They raped the original AvP comic story, made gaudy corny looking predators, kept the awful Alien design from A:R, and ruined the canon timeline. This movie was a huge let down. They had every opportunity to do it right and they chose to cheapen it. Is it as bad as The Predator no. But it isn't good either. I dont get this mentality going around, where people give what are obviously terrible movies a pass because a worse piece of trash in the franchise is born ::)

I personally loved this movie from the beginning.. And never really got why it received all the hatred that it did. Would love to see another AvP game though, with some Alien Isolation kind of TLC.

When I say this I am saying it without sarcasm or irony.

"Come back AVP-2004, all is forgiven!"

Amazing a film from 15 years ago still looks like it was made by people who gave a damn, and yes that includes Paul W S Anderson.

Not a classic due to rating, modern day Earth setting and oddly lacking suspense- but absolutely top notch practical effects, sets and suitmation stuntwork.

I admire plenty about AVP as well, and how you put it has been my feeling for awhile now. I obviously nit pick and wish a lot was different with the film and even so with all other Alien/Predator films. But just in this movie's case, I really appreciate the practical and special effects and suitwork for this film. I would have loved more City Hunter/Wolf style predators in AVP in a way, but there was still a lot of design put into the armour, weapons, etc., that I like more and more still. However, Scar's face could have certainly been more intimidating/scary for sure & why do I feel like the eye contacts Ian Whyte had in this ADI Behind the Scenes video did not come out as well in the final movie? Maybe the lighting/shots?  I feel like he still wore them but they looked more human-like in the film and not as much of a yellow color :P oh well

Otherwise, I will say again that I think AVP took advantage of it's budget in a lot of ways or at least I feel that the production value and effects still hold up very well today. I especially like for one example, how the Queen Alien was handled in AVP, it had great overall practical/special effects in all scenes I felt. And AVP looks even better in the collection of all related films when we get silly CGI from films like The Predator. I enjoy my favorite parts in the new predator film, but they really messed with too much stuff and I'm still disappointed with the lack of practical predator suit use/screen time >:(  I do still like the Fugitive Predator actually and don't mind having him in the lineup of all feature film predators.

It's nowhere near offensive as other films in the franchise, notably Requiem, or even Resurrection or The Predator.

This fairly recent article makes the case it's underrated too:

Alot of people hated it at the time but they didn't f**k with the canon and put alot of work into the sets and designs, the predators looked fat  it that was the directors choice and not the fault of adi. I still hope they eventually make a third avp film. I don't have a problem with the comedy of the predator and actually would prefer a more comic/resurrection style.
