So we're getting the Read and Play part before Watch has even been announced? Why the long wait for the Watch part? Weird marketing decision.

After seeing some reviews of the game, I'll probably give it a go.

Didn't Fox claim it "just borrows the character of Amanda"?

That quote worried me that the game has no story and doesn't fit anywhere in any continuity.  Like it's just a mini game where Amanda saves a crew and that's it.

The quote was:
"We wanted to reach out to clarify that Alien: Blackout is a standalone game that shares Amanda Ripley as a main character but is not related to or a sequel of Isolation."

It is a sequel to Isolation. It's just not Isolation 2.

Oh ok so no like comic book or novel tie ins that take place before this? I'm guessing this game was released to sort of herald in those?

Then when and where does it take place that makes it unable to be a sequel to Isolation?

It's a different station. That just seems to be the aesthetic of deep space stations at the minute. A lot of them in Defiance followed that kind of appearance.

Huh.
I wonder if perhaps this takes place concurrently with Isolation somehow.

I imagined it could be a fanmade movie of course, but normally those would have more info. And those involved don't take long to inform the fans for support.
