Does anyone know whether or not there any fan made single player missions?

Loads of multiplayer mod maps, but never have I come across any single player stuff.

I saw this.

I'd love some insight into the development of this game.
This is probably the best and most honest insight into the development of the game: https://web.archive.org/web/19991104120948/http://www.foxinteractive.com:80/avp/notes.html

Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to giving this one a read.

This is relevant. A bit of history from Rebellion on how AVP came about.
Video: How an 11th-hour decision made Aliens versus Predator a classic
The titles of that article and the video are misleading (the decision to make the same levels playable by different species was neither a last-minute decision nor was it what made AvP a classic, just look at AvP 2010) and while there are interesting tidbits in there, it's not exactly the most illuminating interview.

Just recently back into this game. Quiet possibly my all time favourite game.

One thing i really dislike about the 2000 classic version on steam is that it is the basically the Gold Edition.

The thing i hate most is the new video messages that the Rebellion staff recorded for the gold edition. It almost ruins the game for me. I also reallly don't like the into music and background.  Petty i know.

So what i have just done is put my original 1999 disc copy into my laptop, found the original files for the things I don't like in the gold and then replaced the newer ones with the originals.

Works a treat.

Also put the uncut predator into in.

I'm still, almost 20 years on, having such a great Time with this game.

Damn fine game. Best in terms of raw gameplay for sure. I just finished it a few days ago after starting going through all my A/P games again. This game may not have the immersive setting and narrative of the more popular sequel, but it nails the gameplay much better. Non-terrible Predators weapons (arguably OP),stealthier Aliens, and no insanely OP human weapons (spider mines anyone?) I also prefer the more realistic graphics instead of the more cartoony ones of the sequel. A damn shame this game doesn't get much love. If we only got an AVP game that fused Classic's gameplay with a complex story like AVP 2 it'd be perfect.

Hm, yes. I didn't mean to redirect the point of this thread. It should probably remain a discussion of our history/appreciation/general discussion of this game. I might make a thread about skirmish maps to be played as the alien once I have something to show. It's a relatively easy yet time-consuming venture.

Having an Alien Skirmish mode would make Classic 2000 complete.

It's not just a fantastic AvP game, it's a fantastic video game in general. One of the best ever made, in my opinion.

Edit: Speaking of skirmish, I made a proof of concept for a sort of alien version of skirmish with respawning marines instead of aliens:

Woah, that looks awesome!

I can just imagine how awesome it would be to play the Alien In Hadley's Hope.

Since the old AVP-1999 Thread hasn't been posted in for forever I figured it was time to start fresh.

I have to say I love the Hadley's Hope Skirmish Map it's utterly fantastic.
