I'd prefer a proper comic book adaptation of Vincent Wards's Alien lll (Wooden Planet), and a comic book based on Dan O'Bannon's prototypical ideas of Alien (like the pyramid and the alien culture as something different from the Space Jockeys) but with Giger's Alien. But overall, something like what Dark Horse did with George Lucas's original draft:

AvP 3 (2007) refers to an outline the team behind AvPR came up with. They didn't do a script, just a treatment.

I think I would have somewhat preferred Alien Engineers to Prometheus but I'm glad that the Derelict and Space Jockey on LV-426 were instead left a mystery.
