Surely you liked Holdo and Rose, though, right?

Sorry but this is hilarious and need to point it out. Whodafuk is Holdo lol, Solo? Worst movie I've ever seen in the cinema.

I'm pretty kinky for a trilogy.

I have nothing against people liking something I don't, I just don't like to see dismissal of things with genuine creativity and hard work by professionals.

"Anton Ego: In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and themselves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the *new*. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends."

To corporate creations, I would be less kind- mediocrity created by trying to please everyone and pleasing no one.
There's nothing more sad than something original being turned into that.

The future for Alien gets grimmer by the day. After this honestly I think Alien needs to die for a bit because at this point it seems that if they did continue it it would be horrible. Until the future of it is in better hands it should probably lay low...sadly.

Some days I wish it all stopped in either '79 or '86, but I don't want to be one of those people who cries and yells about a franchise being irrevocably ruined and yet never shuts up about it (like the Star Wars fandom.) If other people enjoy the new movies (and they do) I don't really care. There's a whole world burning out there that I can feel dismayed about instead. The world might probably do pretty well if we pulled our heads out of our backsides when it comes to entertainment (I remember being in my early 20's and feeling utterly confused and even insulted that other members of this forum or elsewhere dared to like a movie that I didn't. Thank god age mellowed me out and provided a little perspective.)

I know it will sound like hyperbole, but this is one of those rare movies where I can't find a single positive quality. Not even a pretty face to look at. And they've done this to all their SW movies in varying degrees, so I'm pretty sure a Disney Alien will turn out similar. Worse, since here they have an R rating to purge as well as the lore.

If nobody counted them for TLJ, how can you claim it would drop the score to the 20s ???

Estimate I guess? I don't know where people got those numbers, only that it was all over forums in January. If it was just a rumor I stand corrected.

Movie still sucked though.

Lots of sites claim RT doesn't count half stars but I can't find one with proof.

I heard someone counted them (obviously not for TLJ), but who knows. Either way it's a terrible score.

The star wars is spilling outside of the star wars thread and into all Disney related threads.

Non the less PG alien movies and PG buddy cop predator comedies are on the horizon folks. It's the Disney way.

We're still discussing the last Rian Johnson film?

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_the_last_jedi/

90% positive, 46% positive user rating.

Took all of two seconds to Google it.

And if you count the half stars given, that number drops to the low 20s. Funny how the rating is twice as high for the "professionals" also.

What they did to Star Wars?  90% RT scores and billions at the box office - sign me up.

90%? Last Jedi was way below 40, and that was after they removed the half stars. I think the real number was around 23-24%.
