A fitting day I finished playing this game.

QuoteBest story in an Alien/Predator game, anyone agree?
Indeed. After finishing here are my thoughts: I didn't like the Predator narrative, but the Alien and Marine is great. While Classic 2000 has the best gameplay by far it's story was half assed and AVP 2010's was bare bones with nothing interesting storywise. The elaborate backstory and setting will unfortunately probably never be replicated. Both the PH and main game stories beg for a sequel that will never see the light of day. LV-1201 is a fantastic planet with its own ecosystem and backstory with the Pilots before they became silly baldies. It just begged to be explored more, especially the Pilot experiments. The Iron Bears were a great faction to mix up the usual WY and USCM soldiers along with the sinister motives of WY's POC and FOPs are great.

The superlative "AVP" depiction. IMO

Best thing that happened to the franchises on this century. After the first movies, its the entry I value the most.

Happy birthday to you AVP2 !
I'm glad this game still lives on, it may never re-capture the glory it once had but I think this is the closest we got from a complete game from Single to Multiplayer involving both creatures.
I still think the SP campaign was top noch and the MP great enough (especially the map <3 they never captures beside Isolation quite the feeling of the movie).

And seeing new content being released even today prove how healthy publishing a SDK is for a game !

Still my favorite game. It's the reason I became an avp fan, I found out about the game some time after watching the AVP movie in 2004, even at 10 I knew something went wrong with that movie but still it gave me an interest in the creatures. Then I found out about this game and I was suprised of how much better they did it, saw how much potential the avp concept could have.

EU release was today, US would be Halloween. I spent so much time playing this game back in my teen years! The whole reason this website even exists is because of Darkness' interest in AvP2.

I just played a few games of DM on the one server with people on. It still kinda depresses me I don't have the choice I used to but I'm glad there's usually at least one populated server.
