I think its because Anderson was stupid and didn't know what the hell he was doing. It doesn't make sense to have some of the weapons acid proof and some that are not, ofcoarse Anderson's head was shuved too far up his ass to realize that.

No one is that careless no matter how badly you wish it to be true (or how many times you say it :p).  Mixing and matching the acid proof and non-acid proof was to make sure the Predators stayed on their toes, thus forcing them to fight hard for their right of passage at the same time while actually giving them a chance to survive.

Paul Anderson probably didnt think about that. Oh well, i liked the wristblades melting, it was a cool shot.

No, I don't think it should have.

Arguably, acid-proof armor would be better in quality and harder to get than standard non-acid proof armor.  Going by some of the established Predator culture, you do not give cocky hormonally-high teens expensive gear meant for pros knowing that they stand a good chance of dying anyway; it would be a waste of resources.  On a more down to earth level, in a video game, you don't immediately get the best stuff, you have to earn/buy/find/steal/aquire it as you advance.  This would also be why the Preds didn't have the guns to begin with, they had to work their way through the hell of a pyramid and find them before the aliens grew too overwhelming for them (though admitably, the idea is still somewhat silly).  Nothing that hasn't already been said, of course.  The spears and the ceremonial dagger were the exceptions because arguably, you would still have to give the kids SOME chance of making it out alive.

I am not saying I'm satisfied with Anderson and his AVP, but he and his crew were not stupid enough to have unintentionally mix-matched acid and non-acid proof gear.

Ok, in avp we saw da celtic's wristblades and armour melt when they came into contact with alien acid, BBBUUUTTT...... What about the preds spear/shruiken? The shruiken was used to cut a facehugger inhalf, cut an alienhead in half, and it was thrown through the queen alien's neck TWICE. And the combi-stick was used to spear an alien that lex killed, and it was pucked into the queens head too. Why didn't they melt?  Was this a directors mess up or what? you tell me.

It could be down to trying to make the hunt more challlenging. But more than likely it was Anderson f**king up.

LEAVE ANDERSON ALONE and ALIENS RULE so their blood is supposed to corode anything....the flashback of the preds shows the same alien ship as at the end, so if they can't upgrade their ship how would they able to upgrade their armor?

My point being that you would not wear a vest with no kevlar in a gun battle, nor should beings with intergalactic spaceships be going into a hunt with aliens unprepared. It was just bad planing on the writers part. You also neglect to acknowledge the fact that the predators body is not covered entirely with armor thus leaving plenty of hurt for the alien to inflict.

As far as the predators raping the aliens, well yeah, they put them there to hunt for fun.
It's all a game with the aliens on the receiving end of the stick, what did you expect?

Fighting such a deadly foe is proof enough of their courage.
I'm just as big a predator fan as the next guy but I'll also be the first to tell you that if the two species were butt naked fighting hand to hand the predator would likely lose. The fact that they are so strong, smart, and technologically advanced places them ahead of the aliens right off the starting line. There is nothing you nor I can do about this, it was all set in motion before anybody had ever imagined there would be an alien vs predator comic/movie/novel/ect.

Silly?  I would've thought it would've been the mark of a greater warrior to go toe to toe with an Alien without acid proofing to prove his worth.

But then we are talking about a species that hunts (supposedly) inferior prey from long range with energy weapons.  While using a cloaking device.

To keep them in character as the arrogant pussies that they are YES they should've had acid proofing.

Now someone answer me how Anderson explains this to the audience who are going to say "Wait a minute?  Don't Aliens have acid for blood?  Why didn't it do anything to the Predators?"

Yes, let's rape the Alien a bit more by robbing it of one of the things that makes it what it is.

Yes.

The predators go through way too much trouble to hunt aliens.
Bringing armor that does not protect against alien blood is just silly.

It's just another example of how unprepared the writer and director
were for this movie. Stupid little mistakes ruin good movies.

In the AVP comics their is an armor called ceremonial Armor

"Usually only reserved for the upper castes and the elders, Ceremonial Armor is only found on one hunter per combat team usually, always the leader. He stands out from the group as a proud symbol of honor and leadership. This interchanging plate armor is somewhat clunky, offering more dazzle than heavy-duty defense. However, the ceramic plating is composed of a foreign compound, which seem immune to the Kiande Amedha acidic blood. This makes the armor very efficient when fighting the hostile species."

I think the Predators do have acid-resistant blades but maybe they're not something all Predators can afford. Or maybe the Elders deliberately gave the young Preds acid-vulnerable wrist blades to keep them on their toes.

the concept art was more of a Pred wearing some "modified" alien skin. but I would like to see how a hunter would utilize the armor and the alien's exoskeleton together.

Yep I'm talking about a hybrid suit between Predators plate armor and the Alien's tough exoskeleton.

1.It is made of a very durable unknown metal able to stop bullets
2.Its plate armor that uses flesh of a Xenomorph

are you talking about say a hybrid suit between Pred armor and the Alien's tough exoskeleton or just a Pred wearing a Xeno skin ?
