The reactor core chamber is on B deck, access to the shuttles is also on B deck. So it's necessarily between but I don't see anything special in The Blueprints...

I dont think the blueprint shows that location nor that room Ash is in when he monitors Dallas and the others trip to the derelight ship, or at least I cant find it.

Darrel Curtis who runs Thenostromofiles.com website has blue prints of the Nostromo that he drew up in the 1990's.

On the C-Deck plans there is an insert for Ash's science blister and the lift leg and landing platform.

It's a great site with lots of ALIEN and Nostromo information.

The hive is below C deck, in an "undercarriage maintenance room", according to the script.

Engine room is on C, shuttle is on B.

I still think "it was on the plans but they didn't install it to cut corners" is the best of both worlds
