Both Greg and Colin spoke today about the status of the AvP2 trailer. Greg said on IMDB that they’re still sorting out which trailer to use. Colin said here that they will see some new trailers tomorrow. Fox have been testing out different versions and there are two cuts which a lot of people like. They’re currently finishing the film off (and adding some new stuff to the movie) so that’s their priority.
Greg said that his estimate (of a week or so after Comic-Con) was a little optimistic but they’ll be letting everybody know what’s happening. I reckon it’ll be the middle of next week when we see it. Also, Colin revealed today that there will be two trailers. A green-band one and a red-band one. At the end of the green-band it’ll tell you the name of the website where you can watch the red-band version apparently.

Ya know MovieSeekeR, if AsvP kicks my ass, which Im sure it will at this moment, with all the leakage of positive things, then they will be some of my favorite directors. Right up there with Fincher, Carpenter, Cameron, Scott, Tarantino, Rodriguez. Fincher would be my favorite. I love dark films a'la Fight Club.

Red Band vs. Green Band explanation: Green Band trailers - are the only kind you see in theaters. They have the big green screen with the "This trailer is approved for all audiences" message and they basically don' t have have any overt violence, no blood, no pointing a gun at the audience, not nudity, no swearing etc. etc. All the large theater chains will only play green band trailers (that's why you only see them in theaters). I work for Lionsgate and we are constantly battling with what we can get away with. Red band trailers are the opposite - violence, blood whatever you want, no real restrictions but they also are really only shown online or in some select theater venues (think a grindhouse type theater). Hope that helps.

I think it's already very exciting that we're gonna see Aliens vs Predator in less than a half year. So I don't mind mind if they're taking their time to give us some good trailers.

I didn't like the first AVP movie, yet still couldn't hate it, like most people, to the core. There was not a minute where it was even half-way to genuine suspense. Literally everything was revealed out in the open in actually well lighted sets, eventually. Even the hieroglyphics tell what would happen before it happens. There was little action. Even more disappointing is the lack of blood and gore. I mean, the reason that we watch and enjoy these movies is because of that with these enjoyably cool and scary creatures. Having a film lacking that is like taking half of its dignity. And you would know that Paul W. S. Anderson is more an Alien fan based on the concept and having one Alien kill two out of three predators. Some the characters of AVP could've been great, but the rushing of the film gives you little time to grow a deeper attachment to them by personality and characterization and Anderson just eliminates them on their first round seemingly as quickly as he can.
The Strause Bros. are sure to make it better. There are equal fans of both the Alien and Predator. They know the meaning of the word suspense. They'll have it hardcore, with lots more blood and gore, just the way we liked all the other films. They are sure to have characters that you'll have more care over. But one major con is the setting. Small town where Big things happen is something that's done a lot of times already and is in general lame to begin with.
AVP 2 is sure to be a better film, but unsure of being called a great film. We're entering one of those dark times in film-making where talent is becoming bland and overly routine, especially horror and/or sci-fi movies like this, with the exception of a few films each year. I think that after this they should make films with the Alien and Predator films separately. And if ever go back to the crossover, get a person who knows how to make films as we remembered in the past.
one of the things in the first movie that really pissed me off was having the stuff from the comics and books, but not in a cool way, like the director just looked over the material and 'oh that sounds cool ill have that in my movie.' as in not an actual fan. like ok the preds take aliens and seed them on planets and that is a huge part of their culture and stuff. ...but their armor is not acid resistant. same with their wristblades and that net. what the HELL? and the team up: pred is like ::) human okay come on.. in the original stuff noguchi was a badass and actually earned the respect of the predators and wrecked shop if i remember correctly

Is the storyline still that same terrible script set in a country town in America? If it is, then it has already lost my interest. I am a big fan of both Alien and the Predator franchises, and even though the first AvP totally ruined what was great about both of them, I still had hopes to see it rectified in AvP2. I just do not get what is so hard about making an AvP film set 800 years in the future, on a newly terra-formed planet which is co-incidentally a colonial marine deep space outpost. Chuck in some story about a crashed Predator space craft (that was overun by Aliens), a marine investigation and infection, a Predator search and rescue operation, followed by an epic escape sequence onboard a marine battleship and Predator mothership, and you have a movie. Same recycled material from the old films, but thats what fans want to see. Hell you could even spice it up a bit and put something like a female predator in as the main predator character (just to give the movie something else going for it). Just don't show us her face... I do hope this movie is as good as everyone is saying what it will be, but if it is not true to the original franchises and adhere to keywords such as "space", "future", "hunter", "alone", "suspense", "action", and "decent damn storyline that even a damn kid could come up with", then it's automatically terrible in my book.

Well, they did take the hassle of setting up the effects and stuff for the trailer. To make it more compeling from what we are told. I will be a big ass monkeys uncle if what we see is just plain crap. With all the secretcy and delays. However,if we like what we see. Then its all good. I can then show the clip to the Nay-Sayers without getting the "We told you so!!!!" bullshit.

It's more than reasonable to believe one alien warrior is fully capable of killing two predators in succession. Especially considering the circumstances of that situation. Each alien is a very formidable opponent, or preds wouldn't waist their time with them. And considering they're suppose to be the pinnacle of the galaxy's deadly prey, watering down the alien's effectiveness indirectly ruins the predator's credibility. Regarding acid proof armor, obviously they hadn't earned it yet. I also thought their faces were great given the fact that they were young adults. The only problem was the elder. I obviously enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't perfect (oviously). I won't go into detail, but there were a number of things I would have done differently. Showing almost all of the only one-on-one fight sequence online before the movie opens is one major problem. Having only one one-on-one fight sequence is another. lol ;)
HMMM OKAY SO WHEN NEXT WEEK ARRIVES...WILL WE WILL GET ANOTHER STORY....????

Good grief, guys. You sound like a couple of rabid pred fanboys out looking for revenge, and that doesn't represent yourself well. Have a little maturity. ;) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Predator, but at my core I'm still an Alien fan. I have no problem with preds beating the crap out of aliens so long as it's accurate and true to the Alien and Predator films AVP is based on. That's the main problem I have with past AVP comics, novels & games. They're terribly skewed and differ so much from the films that I dislike them. Anderson's vision wasn't perfect, but he still did a pretty good job servicing us fans given the circumstances with Fox. And considering the preds were young, highly skilled & trained yet fairly un-experienced, it was a logical & believable series of events. Anderson also did a pretty good job sticking with canon for the most part. A few scenes would've made more sense if certain other scenes were finished or filmed.
If two predators act stupidly and waste their time with humans and posing around when they should be trying to keep track of Aliens, of course they're going to die. What would have been "beyond gay" was if those two creatures had survived. And if you want Aliens to be easily killed, then your'e going to dilute the Predator. The Predators consider them the most challenging prey in the entire galaxy, which is why they use them as a rite of pasage. If they can kill them easily, then it makes a mockery of their own rite of passage, which you shouldn't want.
Also, what do you mean the PRedators are going to kill Aliens "this time around"? Their entire nest got incinerated, the adults were destroyed and the Queen was disposed of. How is that winning? The main one even shot several of them in quick succession.

I agree with some of the comments made, that a predator hunting a alien should be hard! kinda ironic that us as humans with our brains and weapons etc are easily defeated by a predator and the aliens arn't. That to me is more relistic! But yeh! i felt that the two predator's getting killed by one alien in AVP was shite! i really like the pred with the two blade's and skull on his back he looked the hardest! and got battered! Hopefully Aliens vs. Predator will undo some of the mistakes that the original made! Rock On!

predatoriankang: The comics mean nothing. The original writer's guide Dark Horse gave to writers actually pointed out that no gender attributes were allowed to be shown, because, as they stated, if you were close enough to see them, you're already dead. :) In the films, the ones we've already seen could easily be female. I don't believe it's realistic that something with jaws like taht would be able to suckle breasts without mutilating them. It's unlikely they have females with breasts, in my view.
PredKing87: If there are other creatures either as strong and adaptable, if not more so, then why do their rites of passage uniformly have them face Aliens every time? It's because they have yet to find another creature as strong or as adaptable, even in thousands of years. I don't see why you think Predators are invincible agaisnt Aliens. If they can be killed by Danny Glover or Arnie, an Alien is definitely going to be able to kill them. You admit yourself that you only want to see twenty Aliens killed by a single Predator "in 5 minutes". You seriously need to stop hero-worshipping Predators, if you seriously believe they're capable of doing anything of the sort, without resorting to ranged weapons. Ask yourself what the point of this franchise is if one creature is able to dispatch the other with ease? There would be no point in them showing that. Sure, the Predator wanted their guns back, but even a reasonably trained human could have killed the few who had them in far less time. They wasted time being sadistic and showing off. That's precisely the mentality Aliens take full advantage of.
HuntersMoon: We don't know when the rooftop scene happens. It could be at the start. AVP 2: Aliens weren't "kickin preds asses all over." If you watch the film, you'll see a single Predator wiped out the entire nest and neutralised the Queen. I don't see how that equates to some immature need to see Aliens mewling around like little baby kittens, while you get a hard-on at the sight of a Predator being hunky and walking around like it's on steroids. No offence, but those who worship the Predators as some sort of invincible gods need to remember what happened to the fictional humans who used to do that. :) That and the Colonial Marines who thought they'd have no problem, just as much.

There would be a point to making the movie..Its just how the movie would really go i would imagine..its just specualtion but the predators are gonna kick the aliens asses in this one..that doesnt mean they shouldnt make the movie.The aliens in avp killed 2 predators in ten minuites so what would of been the point for the predator fans..the alien fans are just gonna have to deal with this one like we did for avp aliens.. whats a few dead aliens gonna do their basically parasites..There numbers are abundant.unlike the predator which is one..That is why the predators will win cuz they only need one for many opponents..I LOVE ALIENS but the predators would win in a fair fight. Maybe not always but you no what 90% of the time they would outmatch and alien head on..

Ok, Ive been pretty patient, but where the hell is this trailer? this movie comes out in a little more than 4 months, and Fox has not even admitted its existence, if we just got a teaser site with nothing but the logo, I would be satisfied for the moment, but nothing except one little production photo, and a foriegn dvd case has been shown. they only reason Fox would be waiting this long to Advertise a movie is if it sucked.
OR if it's incredibly awesome and is gonna kick our butts i bet they're gonna release a butt-load of stuff at the same time to thanks us for being such great and patient fans! =]
It was a global ritual. You only have to look at what the inscriptions said to prove that. It was merely to do with the rite of passage, not the usual hunts they come here for. They can do the latter at any time. The pyramids were done for a completely different reason. It was nothing to do with different clans or whatever. It was what they used the enslaved human race for, en masse. Even the writers of the films say both of them were deliberately written as featuring inexperienced creatures. If so, then they would never have faced an Alien before. Please don't make assumptions about me. I don't believe the Yautja stuff because it's stupid and contradictory. Even the directors have said it's not canon. I don't believe the novels and comics when it comes to the Aliens, either - for the same reason. The Predator will have problems dealing with these Aliens, I can virtually guarantee it. I'll even tell you why: If it was easy, then there would be no story and the film would fail.
Who cares if Predators kill Aliens? No Alien fan is going to criticise that. You assume they do, because you admit you could not mentally handle the fact Predators died because they got egotistical. Most of us don't have such a fanboy complex and don't masturbate every time an Alien or Predator is shown on screen. We don't care if Aliens are shown as dying, so long as it's realistic. If the range decreases, then the odds even up. That's how it is. We also know for a fact it will need to use a medical kit. Why would it do that if it doesn't get severaly injured?

The one thing that kept the alien series going was mostly it was the characters itself. Ripley was the best lead. But we know she won't be in avp anytime soon. What i would like to see is Waylend/Bishop. Having him around kinda gives a tangy feeling. He was basicly the mastermind/badguy of the aliens series.
Even though they killed him in the first avp. We want clones!!!!!! :-X
I just wanna see a predalien and a predator go at it in a(n) atleast 12 to 15 minute fight that would deffinatley make this wait worth it......and i wanna see some of the predalien in the trailer next week but if i dont, thats alright too.. aslong as theres some decent footage worth both alien and preator franchises, reviving AVP after that bland, tacky, PG-13 disgrace that we even dare to call a movie....

Hi I'd just like to say that this movie will probably suck. Strause has no experience in quality directing and simply don't have the budget. The fact that no famous directors want to handle this project goes to show how stupid they feel it is. Instead, lets all us geeks focus on other movies...like...Transformers. The next best movie coming out is Transformers vs Harry Potter. TvHP...booyah! :o :o

I used to have a framed print of Giger's "Alien IV" (Scott's inspiration for the monster) displayed in my living room when I was a bachelor. There was no mistaking the phallic symbolism :o I got sidetracked looking at all the cool animatronic Alien and Predator stuff made by fans. I wish I had that kind of talent :(

This entire thing reminds me of ERAGON. That movie also had very late marketing. The trailer for that didn't come out until mid september. I expect same for AVP2.
