Terrible news, hope he pulls through :-[
Damn. That just sucks. Hope he pulls through too
ADC posted this update over on Alien Legacy last night.
QuoteHi everyone.
Visited Trevor today with Alison. He's in the Critical Care Unit and is still out after being put into induced coma. He is on machine assisted breathing. It is a more serious stroke than (nearly) two years ago.
The stroke was on the left side this time. It is more serious when it occurs on the left side of the body for various reasons, mainly the impact it has on the brain.
He suffered multiple seizures today and they decided to put him under sedation again as a result.
They will hopefully take him out of that in the morning and then they can see if he's be stable enough to wake up.
For a bit we could see him fighting to come out of it, earlier today when he was off sedation and before the seizures. We all know he'll fight this thing. I want to stress that it's a far more serious attack than last time. I'm just saying this so that people can gauge the situation. Now we just have to wait.
There's an old saying from the First World War, 'Everyone is a believer in the trenches". Trevor is in the trenches right now. So whatever you believe, or even if you're not a believer, let us all say a prayer for our Trevor and his family tonight.
I'll report back here with any updates but Alison will post info on Facebook first so if you're friends with her on Facebook keep an eye on her page. Thanks.
Hopefully he'll pull through!
That does not sound good at all. Hope and prayers to his family that he can pull through and recover.
I'm very sad to report that he died yesterday.

I am absolutely gutted. I had the pleasure of meeting him several times and we even had him on the podcast back in the early days. Trevor was an absolute gent of a man. He absolutely loved his fans. I'm so sad to wake up to this news. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. :'(
Yea, sad news indeed. RIP.
A sad loss. Much too early. RIP Trevor Steedman.
Wierzbowski! Wierzbowski!!
:'(
Damn, that's no age!
RIP, Trevor.
How terrible! RIP Trevor, sad sad news.
Damn, Rip Wierzbowski!!
I was just watching Aliens last night, RIP
That is so tragic. We've lost another. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. RIP Mr. Steedman. God bless you. It really pains me to hear how involved he was with the community, he really enjoyed meeting the fans and being a part of the fandom.
Hey NECA toys, if you're reading this, I think we need to get a commemorative Wierzbowski figure with some of the proceeds going to his family.
Wierzbowski! WIERZBOWSKI! :(
I always thought Hicks said, "Where's Baski?"
RIP, Tevor! :(
Wierzbowski is a common Polish name. It comes from the word "wierzba" which means "willow tree". So Wierzbowski means "Of the Willow".
It is pronounced:
Viege-bovski
That's a soft "g" like the French name Gilles...
Everything Perfect-Organism wrote is true. I'm polish and i confirm that Wierzbowski must have been of polish descent.
Actually when I think of it we have many names with "Willow: in it: Wierzbowski, Wierzbicki, Wierzba...
I remember watching Aliens as kid and during a scene showing all the marines cam feeds, my mother asked: "There are polish marines in this movie?" I said: " Well one of them is". She replied: "Oh that is nice", and watched the whole movie with me. She hates sci-fi but patriotism did its part ;)
So I'll write this in polish: Świeć Panie nad jego duszą.
It;s our "Rest in peace" and literally: "Lord shine over his soul"
Damn :(
God Speed Mr Steedman
Deeply saddened to hear this and regret that I was unable to meet the man in person. I much enjoyed his appearance on the podcast, his roll in the fan film, and have been looking forward to seeing him in Alien Encounters for some time now. Hopefully sooner than later.
I still remember in my younger days first discovering through whatever means available at the time (probably Alien Encyclopedia) that there were two other marines in the background of Aliens, Crowe and Wierzbowski. I still find it fun to play a version of Where's Waldo during the first half of the movie by trying to spot all their appearances. I think my favorite Ski moment has to be when Gorman walks out of the briefing, for a split second you can see Wierzbowski's hand flipping him off at the edge of the screen right when Crowe puts the blue hat on.
RIP mate, and cheers to a great legacy.
It was a real honour to have him on the show. Really wonderful guy. I really wish I hadn't been so nervous back then (I actually say at the start when we're all saying hi, "I'm not good, thanks!") but he told some great stories and was a pleasure to speak too. I keep meaning to transcribe the interview and upload it as a written one.
Motherf**ker.
A swear word is the only appropriate response. What a life you must have lived, Mr. Steedman. We love you.

For those interested in helping out Trev's family with the funeral costs.
Has there been any official statement or tributes from his fellow cast members or official Fox channels?
Rest in Peace Trevor.
RIP Trevor.

Trev's family could still do with a little help if anyone can spare a few quid.
RIP Trevor Steedman. Loved your work in Children of Men too! That part where you got hit in the face is still one of the most convincing stunts I have ever seen.
