So recently we were told of the Engineer's society being based on the Persians. So, I decided to do some wiki research and cross-reference, when I come up with this fellow;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeschylus

Seems this fellow wrote plays, including The Persians, a play about how a King's pride leading to loss from hubris and angering the gods...  ;)

Also he wrote Prometheus Bound, enough said about that story, I think  ;)

So, could the survivor Engineer be close to Xerxes, a son of the Elder Darius, or could it be instead another person in the film? Either way, Xerxes played a rather Prometheus-like role in The Persians.

Theories welcome as always ;)

You can spin it to any Greek myth at this rate, as they were all obsessed with tragedy and hubris. Not to be a spoil sport or anything, I just think we're grasping for threads.

Not that it's unhealthy, given the excitement we're all feeling :D
