Quote from: GearboxStasis Interrupted, an all-new campaign add-on for Aliens: Colonial Marines, is headed to PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 next week!
The final piece of Aliens: Colonial Marines DLC, Stasis Interrupted, tells the story of what happened to Hicks between Aliens and Alien 3 through the eyes of three different characters. The story begins as Lisbeth Hutchins and other passengers onboard the spaceship Legato wake unexpectedly from hypersleep and must figure out why their vessel has been diverted to intercept the Sulaco leaving LV-426's orbit. Fight your way through the alien-infested spaceship, find out what Michael Weyland is after, and discover what truly happened to Hicks!
Packing new Achievements and Trophies, Stasis Interrupted will be rolling out on all platforms beginning July 23th (July 24th for PlayStation 3 players in Europe) and will be available individually or as part of the Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass, a bundle that includes access to the previously released Bug Hunt mode, Reconnaissance Pack and Movie Map Pack.

"Michael Weyland"...ugh still annoys the piss out of me.
Maybe it will be fun...
I CALLED THIS, MONTHS AGO.
Months, Gearbox!
Mooooooonthsssss... >:D
Some shitty Call of Duty: Aliens level where you fight of PMC's in recycled maps, yea can't wait.
"That's a longer story, ten more dollars and I'll tell it to you."
Yeahhh, I'll YouTube it, thanks.
f**ks.
I bought the season pass for this game, and haven't even played it since before the first DLC was released. :(
That's how much I love the game...
PITCHFORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*goes into nuclear meltdown*
Put a bullet in those bastards!
Aren't y'all glad YouTube exists? Gearbox still ain't getting more of my money.
Should give it away free as an apology.
I'm calling it now: this will redeem the entire game.
This hour long DLC will probably be better than the whole campaign storywise.

I honestly doubt that. Not trying to be snarky, but I really doubt it. They didn't give a damn about the main story. Why would they give a damn now? Just saying, in order to "fix" that... *ahem* "story", you have to redo the entire thing.

But in-order to redeem the story, you still have to contend with the other crap besides the Hicks is alive retcon, which this DLC will not do. The main story will always be crap, the DLC just has the potential to make a lazy retcon look less lazy.
Yep.
It's not going to suddenly legitimise the existance of the AP, colony and Derelict.
It won't even legitimise Hicks being alive. Just flesh out some more bullshit Mikey Neumann made up after regarding what he just left in the toilet bowl.
Meh, if I'm feeling curious I'll just find a torrent of it.

I think when all is said and done and the last DLC rolls out the gates, almost every Aliens fan worth their salt will declare this game non-Canon. It makes
Resurrection look
great!
Why wait?

Time for YT to come in handy. Lucky for me, Pitchford didn't get a penny from me for this crap.
Ehhhhhh
Aside from game night the only thing I've really enjoyed about ACM is how upset people get about Hicks being alive. I don't think I'll be getting this.
Too little too late.
I'll watch it on youtube, well if anyone from this site says it's good.
Screw you Randy.
im tempted to get this when i get back from vacation i really do hope this dlc is well made and a slight improvement to the overall experiance and if not well ill piss all over the gearbox logo everytime i come across it :)
I just really hate how they are esentially selling you an important aspect of the story that should have been put in the game. "That's another story" was obviously DLC-bait, but dammit, that's something I would expect from EA. This DLC is just plain greedy.
LOL I suspected there was going to be a SP DLC. I was not wrong. I'm glad I bought the Season Pass. The company making the Expansion did a great work in Borderlands 2... =)

I got the season pass and I haven't been making use of it much lately. The movie map packs are actually pretty cool. But can't find anybody else that plays them unless I play in the GBX Forums game nights.
I'm one of those guys that really likes Hicks, so I really don't care that they retcon-ed him. As long as they make the story for it slightly believable. I wouldn't mind it being canon if the explanation was at least decent, which is doubtful.

I bet he is going to be the final playable character. The first, Lisbeth Hutchins, is an obvious tribute to the actress who played Shaw in Prometheus, Noomi Rapace, since she became noticed by Ridley Scott after playing Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... ;D
Wonder who the second character will be? A WY PMC perhaps? :o

To be fair SM the last page of the tech manuel says the Derelict is intact, just putting that out there.
Lots of stuff assumes it's still there.

I don't think you wondered that at all.
As for the CMTM, I know it (and comics and video games) says it - doesn't mean it's correct.

Off the top of my head, description of LV-426, size and speed of Sulaco. ie. Stuff where you can make a comparison to the source material. Other stuff that LBW made up - no problem.
The last piece of this DLC set better be an improvement over the rest of this smoking turd of a game. Not really convinced it's even possible, however.

Famous last words, well you never know. Maybe the fact that it's centered around Hicks might make it somewhat more enjoyable.
I for one cannot wait to play this simply to see what justification they've cooked up story-line wise as to why Hicks is still alive.I'm not expecting it to make any sense but I'd love to see them try

At the end you approach the chair of Michael Weyland to finish the company once and for all. Only to have it swing around to reveal Randy with two fists full of money and laughing at you.

Normally I agree with this statement. But, in the case of Aliens, it just looks like complete shit on consoles and mediocre at best on PC. Sure, some patches later it got better on PC, but its weak compared to most AAA games that have come and gone in the same time frame, and hell, some years before. Modern Warfare 1, which is I dunno how many years old now, and just about all other FPS games look way better than Aliens does, and thats just sad. The character models look like something from 2004 PS2.
Hardware problem no, not this time, game just looks beyond dated for a 2013 game. Had it looked like, say, Dead Space 1 thru 3 no one would have complained. And Dead Space 1 -3 on consoles looks great. (I use Dead Space as an example because of it's dark 'Alien' type feel).

Poor optimization and lack of care is to blame. There are console games from 2007 that look better than Colonial Marines.

Contrary to popular opinion, I am glad at the fact that the SP DLC is finally coming and they did not cancel it despite all the negative feedback. Is probably going to be a long long time before the next Aliens game is out, and all the hate ACM is still getting won't make the situation any better. Do not want to wait that long for the next game... I am not getting any younger, you know....? :-\
still needs dedicated servers/..
"Stasis Interrupted" now downloading on Xbox!
Surprisingly, it's over 2 gigs! Time to see if questions that have been lingering since 1993 with Alien 3 will finally be answered!
Any early non-spolier reviews of the DLC? I'm gagging to play this, but it isn't released in the UK until tomorrow. Is it more of the same? Does it feel different?

They couldn't just cancel it like that. The devs are under contract with the publisher to release all "Season Pass" content. They can't just bail out because they will get their ass sued to death for not fulfilling the contract, let alone screwing everybody who purchased the content already with the season pass.
Any videos yet,talk,something?
Well since spider in my basement has been dealt with, I had a chance to play the first level of the DLC, presentation on the xbox is pretty bad, but so far the story and voice acting kicks the crap out of the vanilla game
