Looks neat. Kind of looks like they just recycled the Alien image from the AvP CE tin as well :P. Still looks good though. I really hope they have a CE for PC in the US.

It happened with AvP3 as well. A western-Europe retailer leaked the first details and then some elements changed once the special editions were officially announced.
Very nice. Wish they'd give us a release date.
So the game is still being made, awesome. Nice to see proof of life lol :D
Awesome! Notice the xeno lacks the tail sail we all just loved. :P
Not sure how I feel about day one DLC. :-\
Unlock the flame thrower? Smart gun and Pulse rifle in multiplayer? wtf? Aren't those supposed to be basic marine weapons? Why do i have to buy DLC to unlock them in-game?
Maybe it unlocks them for immediate use?
Any word on price ?

79€ according to that Hungarian retailer. I'd wait for the official announcement tho.
Awesome!!! will definitely be buying the Collectors edition!!!!

Think of any other gun that the marines use that isnt a pulse rifle?
I wonder what the comic will be? If it's not reprinted material I hope they don't go for shitty anime art. Ugh... I bet they get Chris Bachalo since he recently worked on the DS game.
That's sexy 8)
I am guessing that when it says Unlock Lengendary Multiplayer Weapons it means for immediate use. You can still unlock them, probably through the ranking system, or get them immediately if you have the CE. Also notice for the Pulse Rifle it says upgrade instead of just Pulse Rifle so that probably means the Pulse Rifle is the beginning weapon (big surprise, I know) so instead they give you immediate access to a upgrade.
103 dollars sound decent, I really want to know what USCM Academy firing range is. I'm also diggin' the box art.
:o MUST HAVE !!!
I better start saving money, this and Resident Evil Revelations are going to empty my wallet for the beginning of the year.
Those are some pretty damn cool extras, I'll be pre-ordering this version for sure. But still no release date, wtf?
Is there a price ? (I can't find one)
YES! Can't wait for that Power Loader figure. Drooling over this. Don't regret my $100 AvP3 purchase at all.

It says 79€ but details are always subject to change. Better to wait until the official announcement.
Yeah, I should ;D I'm just very impatient. Should it show up in the news when theres an announcement of the price and date ?
i will be buying that! sick
are they... are they pulling my leg here? they made the Pulse rifle, smartgun and flametrower unlockable content? what the hell are the people who won't buy this thing fight with?
no, i won't say the quote, but really, i expected something like the M-42 and M-38 mentioned in the ACMTM instead. it's such a worthless unlock, everyone is going to be running around with them eventually, or do they plan to never, ever give them to normal players? at least they should have made them actual rare weapons that not everybody already knows from the movie.
and it's lazy and unfair to deny normal players from the most basic gear of a colonial marine for the sake of it. exclusive maps and game modes are okay because they don't affect people who don't play in them, but this actually benefits players that can spend more money... it's discriminating.
It 's say Pulse rifle upgrade. :)
...it's still an advantage and a very lame reward for the extra price.
I am buying this this. No f**king questions asked. Fyi, I bet the DLC comes with an expiration date; I found this out the hard way with The Force Unleashed 2 Collector's Edition so I warn people here to watch out for that cause we'll probably never get another change to download the DLC once it's expired (unless you have Xbox 360).
Now all we need to know are the pre-order bonuses that will be dished out for this game (I suspect that GameStop will be the only retailer with any unique pre-order exclusive, though, I doubt this game would be popular among gamers for multiple retailers to have exclusives [especially after AVP2010]).

It probably is reprinted material like in the AVP2010 Collector's Edition, remember?
The upgraded pulse rifle offered as dlc probably just offers better accuracy or something. This would be better than the AVP2010 system which only gave you different skins as you gain rank.
Is this also for pc?
They took the image away, luckily I saved it :P
YESSS
Actually really keen for this now!!!!
A lot of good stuff in a collectors edition for once, not just DLC...

It's not been officially announced yet. The retailer put it up early.
Must mean they're announcing it soon then I would think.
Then why was it posted to begin in the first place ?
Personally I would have preferred an art book over a comic. The comic for the AvP: CE just was a recolored print of the first AvP comic. Nice, but I essentially already have it.
I just hope they release this version in Canada, F**k you Rebellion

We report all the news. And this time we received a request from Sega to remove it.

That had nothing to do with Rebellion but the publisher. Studios usually don't handle that stuff.
I hope the game doesn't have the XP problem AVP2010 had.
I don't care about the XP problem, but it better not have AvPs horrid matchmaking!
I only really like the patches, certificate, model and DLC, everything else is kinda lame, or "meh" haha
Not a bad CE, but Sega have proven they don't give two shits for gamers... This might be AvP2010 all over again. I'm sure Sega-scam-artists will also later release DLC map packs that should have been in the game to begin with, and I'm also fearing there won't be tools released. I'll be way more impressed if I see a change of trend from them with this game.
Somebody.....picture....please
saved as well !
Thank you dude !

Hot damn that's one nice CE definitely getting this.
This looks amazing! Definitely getting this! The model looks amazing and the case looks awesome! I think well have wait and see what they do with the multiplayer weapons because it would be horrible if you have to unlock all those other guns.
...I should get an xBox just for this.
I realize SEGA asked the Admin to remove the link and all..but, can I or another member post a pic of the CE?

Oh yes, I forgot to ask... PvtDuke mentioned something about Canada... Were we left out of the CE for AvP or something? I wasn't interested in AvP when it released haha!
Anyway, I plan on getting the Collectors Edition, whatever it may be... Still miffed about not getting that sweet Alien Egg with my Anthology... That would look cool in my room!!! I'm off to go scour ebay for one haha

I highly doubt that's an original legit image, guys; for starters, the USS Sephora schematic depicted is not of the Sephora, or Sulaco, or any Conestoga class ship....it's actually of the Nostromo, and they used the Nostromo blueprints I did that were printed in the Alien Vault book. ???

If that's the case then I'm wondering if this was all placeholder or a fan made special edition that someone sent to this retailer for some reason. Sega could be slapping it down to prevent confusion.
Regardless of the accuracy of the dossier/blueprints, I will be elated to have a good Aliens game- not to mention having that Power Loader on my bookcase. ;)

I am optimistic about it. And I haven't seen that Power Loader anywhere on the net. So, until SEGA officially comment on it, I have no reason to believe this CE isn't coming out with the items in the pic.
That, and SEGA haven't given any indication it was a forgery. Nothing on their site, twitter, etc..

Ah Indeed. The art as well as the content are always subject to change. Sometimes even after a product has been officially announced. But that doesn't make it any less real.
Interesting....
If they did actually want to issue some Sulaco blueprints, I would be open to that (or USS Septhora blueprints, from what I can tell its the same as Sulaco so can be easily adapted) but they'd need to contact me rather than use a crappy lo-rez image pulled from the net.
I actually posted a thread on the Gearbox forum asking if the image was real or fake and it got pulled within 10 minutes.
Again, that's because the image wasn't fake. Simply not meant to be public.

This seems really sketchy to me. I hope it's only placeholder, but still grabbing it without your consent is totally unprofessional. I hope it gets cleared up.
Thats weird, I posted here on this page but it's gone now :-\ :D

How could it be fake, they clearly built/made a diorama of the Power Loader and a Xeno even if its a CGI diorama.

Awesomeness.
And in response to the cries of the Pulse Rifle stuff, I bet it's going to be based off of the ones from the original movie. The ones in-game in the gameplay trailer they showed looked different (To me, at least), and sounded a bit different, but not that much. It could be that the ones we have seen in gameplay are actually a new variant in the series (Such as variants of... Hmm, say, planes?). That, or the Pulse Rifle thing shown in the image is a simple recolor, stat mod, or both. But I hope it's a different variant.
most games now are contracted to have so much dlc to start off with , its rarely the games company bein money grabbers its the console companies bein money grabbers and demanding it in the release of the titles , it kinda makes sense , makes the console companies a shed more cash , sometimes dlc racks up to be more than the actual game , look at fall out 3 , that was ridiculous

Yay, more post-midnight typing.... ugh, why won't I sleep...
I could barely understand what you just said, but I do say this.
Isn't the entire purpose of making games, consoles, movies, books, and selling them...
Isn't the entire purpose of that to make money? I mean, yeah, you want to share your ideas...
But money is basically what drives the world. Yes, sometimes crap games like the recent COD games (I've played everything from COD4 to now- I say they suck) are made just for money, or something similar. Games made just to get money off of something, like a game rushed and released in time for the movie it was based off of, are usually crap. Sometimes, you mess with some other stuff. Lots of people didn't like AvP3, supposedly (I personally think, even after a year, they should remake AvP2 the game to remedy that). But the ones that took time are what are usually the best. And PLEASE, do not bring DNF into this discussion. Games that took time, effort, and sacrifice, with a skilled team of dedicated developers, working hard and crafting out the fine details of the game, usually pay off for the best. Yes, DLC can cost a lot. BUT, the DLC thing in the Collector's Edition? We barely know any details about that, as far as I know. But, my bet is the Pulse Rifle is like a little tribute to the very original one from Aliens, and the other two are just instant unlocks. Kinda like Crysis 2 (Not exactly a good comparison, I know).
Also, as a side note, I just want to say, since we aren't in a chat room, or in a videogame where frantic typing gets your message across, that we take time and make sure our replies are coherent enough for someone else to read them. Seriously, we aren't in a deathmatch situation, where it's 'Type-Fast-Or-Die'. It's a place online for discussing things of the same basic interest.
if they are -just- cash grabbing they should say so instead of bullshitting us with this whole "true sequel" tripe.

Nice!
Atleast we know ONE Multiplayer mode. Also it seems during multiplayer we can have a specific gun equiped, rather then finding them on the floor like AVP3. Also it is likely it will allow us to aquire the Smartgun and Flame thrower early, and given the fact that it said Pulse Rifle UPGRADE instead. It MAY be possible that those weapons are skins for the one's in the game (Like we may have a slightly different varient of those weapons in the story mode, but im just guessing)
Im gonna try and save up abit more for the CE, I've already got my money to buy the normal edition.

No doubt I'll still enjoy it though, but as for the "hardcore fans" they demand perfection and nothing short of it. So unless ACM is like playing AVP 1 and AVP 2 combined with AVP 3 type graphics, with the additional SDK, they will no doubt be disappointed :D
I know it.

IMO, there is two types of "Hardcore fans". There are the ones you speak of, where they demand perfection at every inch. Then there is the type like myself, where I love the franchise so much, that as long as the game is good, I'm gonna love the hell out of it.
wow this is bad ass looks better then the avp one
Looks nice, sense I been waiting for the game some time it's nice to see it's still alive and well :D
Gun DLC's are just probably immediate use to an upgrade of the weapon. I think that XP is point based. Where when you rank up you get an XP point to a feature of choice to that weapon, or health.
Like
- Genade Launcher
- Flamethrower has more range
- Smartgun does 10% more damage
- Increase Alien's Health
- Headbite becomes 2% farther in range
- Other...
But this is just a thought, i'm getting this no matter what
Hope we get an announcement on pricing from SEGA of America soon. I'd really like to know how much this thing is going to cost. I estimate it will be between $80-$100, at least.

The thing is, there are certain game features/mechanics that seem so easy to implement, it's infuriating when they're not added.
I get the feeling AVP suffered
mostly because it was an unfinished product that evolved into a quick cash and grab. Disable stealth kills option, need I say more?
This game will use the more flexible UT3 engine, so lack of any mod support would be unacceptable, knowing the possibilities a game like this with custom maps could have.
Its probably fake. It should be pre-orderable by now, I have seen nothing for it at Bestbuy or Gamestop.
I thought for example games, are pre-orderable like a month before they are released.

No I can pre-order Halo 4 right now.
Must depend on the country.
Hmm.. i may get this edition but time will tell.
Got to have that ;D

Unlock the flame thrower? Smart gun and Pulse rifle in multiplayer? wtf? Aren't those supposed to be basic marine weapons? Why do i have to buy DLC to unlock them in-game?
If you read the pulse rifle one closely you can see it says pulse rifle upgrade so it probably makes it stronger

Really a powerloader? are they gonna do it like this.
I hope there is more originality to this game then a battle with an alien in a powerloader i mean thats so 80's
:)
How much does anyone want to bet that one or two marines will detonate a grenade in their hands to avoid being taken to the hive?

It looks like everything about this game is set to hit press. The toys have been casted, the box art revealed, and the trailers look like it's damn near complete. Amazon has it listed for a March release still...which makes sense to me. A part of me wants to just accuse GBX/Sega of shelving the game over the summer because there is more potential to make more money during the winter holiday season.
Good thing there is no tail sail on the Xeno or I wouldn't want it. ::)
