Cholera
Chorela?

"There hasn't been a case of Cholera reported for over 200 years."

P.S. - I wouldn't mind a Shawshank Redemption type of story in space though. However, no producer will dare to finance that type of movie :(

Look no further than Moon 44
Or perhaps Fortress 2 with Christopher Lambert.
But if breaking into a prison is your thing, then perhaps Lockout might interest you. It's a Prometheus prequel with Peter Weyland in his more reckless younger years.

Your options are endless.
Are they as good as Shawshank Redemption though? ( ͡°ω ͡°)

Well Mr. Clemens was either wasn't very well informed or records of cholera of 20th and 21st centuries were lost

There's even cholera cases nowadays.

Wait, it just hit me and remembering the Prometheus Weyland Corporation timeline. Weyland Corp probably cured cholera during the first decade of the 21st century.

Yes.
Better even.
I think you should stop whatever you're doing right now and watch all 3 back to back.
You can thank me in the morning.

I'd mostly make the movie turn out like the Assembly Cut. Hard to top that.

Why are you bothering me with this? Are you bored or something? Besides I meant that as in-universe context.

In-universe, there hasn't been a recorded case of cholera in over 200 years.

Yes I know. 200 years prior to the events of Alien 3 is 1979

Also worth noting I don't think there was any hard date set for the films during their release. Aliens gives us the year '79, meaning Alien takes place in '22, but it being specifically 2122/2179 wasn't part of the plan originally. It was intentionally vague.

So they might have meant Alien3 took place in the 23rd century when they wrote it.

@SM  correct me if I'm wrong

Well the dates are kind of canon now, we can chalk up the no cholera cases to an alternate timeline of our reality. So its possible cholera was cured back during the 20th century in the alien timeline or the records were lost. Which ever strikes your fancy.

You are not wrong.

Prior to Prometheus "79" was the only quoted year in the films, though BTS material for Alien gave us a century (22nd).  Giler and Hill weren't very sci-fi and didn't particularly care about such things - one of their drafts had Fiorina in "the Hyperion Galaxy".  Pickett set his Alien 3 draft in 2270.

In the not real Alien universe, cholera was eradicated about 200 years before Alien 3. No need for any records to be "lost."
