I think all the movies can work together.

Weyland Seniors legacy carried on by his son.

However Prometheus and Covenant are bigger let downs for me than the AVPs or The Predator because they had bigger budgets are were treated seriously and turned out to be pretentious and crap.

Mine is that there is no prequels, no The Predator or Rez (fun film but doesn't belong imho)

I just treat it as a fun satire, it works better that way than as a serious entry.

Its a good ride for sure and the incineration scene is very impactful.

I only consider Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3 canon, though I am of the unpopular opinion that both Covenant and Prometheus are good films, just not good Alien films. Same goes for the AVP films, they're fun to watch and I consider them simply "what if" scenarios and not something that has actually happened.

For the Predator films, I count Predator, Predator 2, and Predators only, with the same view of AVP as for alien.

Both Resurrection and Prey do not seem to fit into the lore at all for me.
