Yea that alien is probably the "I am Groot" cutie pie some have been talking about. Seeing Little Groot dancing in some poor saps chest cavity sounds pretty terrifying to be honest. Maybe these chestburster pop out angry and ready to attack. Like literally after a quick look they jump out and bite someone in the face.
The hanger scene looks tense though.
Look like production snaps, that one pic looks like one of the props in those leaked cave pics.

Same.
While I like the descriptions from the 4chan thread, this could have already be gleamed from what is known of the film. Either way, sounds interesting. The Alien flattening out or whatever, an un-used idea from Prometheus and I think maybe Alien as well, seems to be at play here.
Yea but although the biomechanical parts of the alien are assumed to have come in somewhere between the alien and space jockey crash that still doesn't negate the fact that...
Spoiler
the black goo doesn't work on David. Unless it has an effect on his DNA which was protected by his synthetic skin. That's assuming a robot would have compatible DNA... although Weyland did say he made David in his own image so why wouldn't he incorporate his own DNA into David. Which would make the Alien a direct descendant of Peter Weyland in a way.
I mean I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
Spoiler
The Alien behind the baby-burster seems to have a spot ripe for a prop cock... this is getting truly terrifying.
well, that baby alien looks like a deacon with a tail and two ...thingys on his back, maybe it is a close as a reference to the previous movie as we will get, but as long as it is referenced i am ok with it

Is it just my perverted mind or are there some Engineer Chicks in that holocaust?
No I see them too... Good catch!! :o

Oh and another thing, I wonder if the holocaust takes places before or after David arrives in Paradise. What a surprise twist that would be.

We need trailer now!! 8)
Shit, I didn't think about that, what if they show the holocaust happening in the trailer.
So there are female Engineers afterall, and they got breasts. i've been wondering if Engineers had females or if they lacked them due to genetically tampering with themselves and were trying to find ways to reproduce via studying the life they created.
This makes it interesting, maybe they genuinely made life as a scientific hobby rather than needing to study or harvest it.
Definitely looks like female Engineers! Reminds me of some concept art.
I've updated the frontpage post with some context about that vehicle picture. It's the "terraforming bay" where they keep all the heavy equipment.
So they do have something to contribute to the gigantic dead body arena!!!
Anyway, who is willing to fight one of those little neomoprhs one on one in an octagon,

-_- I seriously hope that this movie doesn't skip over that, Prometheus 2 set up of Shaw & David discovering the Engineer home world looks to be non existent, or in the movie but very briefly. I hope they don't pull that move. Having the best part of the film not be in the film.
Spoiler
I'm starting to wonder if the petrifaction/burning process is something to protect against outbreak. This is the fail-safe to do to population centres in-case of infections as they know how it grows, and they look both burned but also completely solid. Would also explain why the Jockey was petrified in a silly retcon (but not the large hole in him as it obviously comes from the inside out). If David is the creator of that form of the xeno, than that ship has been there way less time than suggested (unless they bring in wormhole bullshit in which case I'm out for good, I expect that from Star Trek, not Alien). We all know Scott is big on angles like this from the Vickers/Janek deleted scene from Prometheus, and by how much time he's spent in interview talking about the Alien being a biological weapon. Adding to this, are they screaming to be let out of the confinement area, or to be let in to whatever is behind the wall (again, like Janek's deleted story in Prometheus)?
I honestly hope this is early morning bullshit thinking and not true at all. After Prometheus, I am more willing to indulge my terrible ideas as well as the good one, as the creators of that film explored a lot of questionable ideas.
Terraforming bay!?

Far middle, bottom right. I think they look pretty feminine.
Everything looks fine.
Wait a minute ......
Could It be that engineers are trying to breed female engineers cause there is no ones left?
Was earth a breeding ground for. Fertile female engineers?
So apart from using the xeno as a redbutton auto destruct meganism for seeded worlds ? What if Shaw was the first female the engineer saw? What about when he picked her up ? If he (Bob) was the engineer from another faction trying to prevent the engineers from breeding females? Was that why was so enamoured by looking at magazines ? He's never seen our world as he is from another faction sent to prevent the engineers from harvesting females and then destroying all creatures and man?

I'd want to know how fast it is and what it's teeth are like before i took that fight (and thickness of it's skin). Currently I still have $50 on the little f**ker as i think it would bite your leg/arm/hand off depending on speed and the PSI of its bite. I'm not saying anything about you, your physicality or anything like that. I am saying that thing looks like it would f**k someone up regardless of background without firearms/an effect weapon.

There's that thing that's called reach-advantage, it wouldn't get to me.
It would receive kicks n punches before it could get in close n it wouldn't be hard to put it out of balance n then pin it down. Since it's newborn it'll be squisher than the adults so breaking its legs n stuff shouldn't be hard.

Reach advantage only works if you can hit it. No way to judge the speed. Sorry man, You might be Jon Jones in the reach department, but I'm still betting on the little guy in a blind fight. You also assume it won't move fast enough just bite a kick you are tossing out. You're not fighting a human, you are fighting a little hellspawn. I see someone throwing a kick and coming back with a stump.
NOTE: I would also bet on it vs world class fighters for the same reason. Too many unknowns. I'd even bet $50 against someone like Miocic, Jones, Brock Lesnar, Connor, any of those upper tier guys. Fighting an animal designed for death hand to hand is f**king insane. I admire you for being willing to do it. Not a chance in hell I would get in there without a lot more information.
Also, no one knows if Alien 3 is Cannon anymore.
I keep thinking Critters, or like, the Itz from the MAXX but infinitely less expendable.
Not only that but who says those things don't travel in packs.... That thing could let out a war cry and all of a sudden wham you got 5 more of them coming at you!!! :(

Dude, it can barely reach my knees while standing up, and look at its puny chicken legs. Size matters n so do physics, it would probably fall on its head if it tried to run really super fast.
It's a baby alien, why do you think their first move after birth is always to run away n hide? It's too vulnerable.
I think you are over-thinking it...yes it's supposed to be a super-melee-killer, but as an adult, before that it tries to hide like some hamster in the ground.
Really against Brock Lesnar? He would take it by its neck n pin it to the ground n sit on it while holding its neck so it doesn't bite. His weight would turn it into a pancakes.
I doubt that we'll even see the little alien alive. It looks like another one of David's failed experiments.

No, dude. Downloading a film you've in no way earned or paid for is illegal.
If you copy the movie (video game) and watch it without payment, the owner of that movie receives no income for their effort.
You can turn the situation around very easily and see it from a different perspective.
Go make your own movie. Just think of how much is owed to you when someone says "Yeah. I downloaded it without paying." When you've made the effort and expect to be paid for it, you'll understand a lot more when it's your own pocket that isn't being rewarded.
Then go multiply that amount by 1000... or more. See how much you're really missing out because other people think you stuff is 'free', when it isn't.
Everybody likes to be paid for their effort. Movie makers are no different.
Hope that helps.

Shit, least of all, even if you buy the dvd/bluray you don't actually own the physical copy of the movie. All you pay for is a license to play the content that's on the disc. Which can be revoked. Still the amount of hate I have towards the entertainment industry for creating unskippable trailers/commercials... is still damn strong till this day. So much so that although I buy movies I rarely ever open the damn things out of a primal fear of unskippable trailers.

Can't you just fast-forward or click the skip button? I've never had this problem because I combine the two methods.
I always click "skip" first and if it can't skip then I try the fast-forward button and that one usually works. Most of the stuff that can't be skipped (like the copyright wall of text etc) don't even last that long.

Just like paying a bank ::) kind of a paradox.
Everyone else got paid according to their contract, even the Producers and Directors, what they earn through the rights are just candies that drop every year :D

If you copy the movie (video game) and watch it without payment, the owner of that movie receives no income for their effort.
Considering that (In Hollywood at least) it is the Insurance Broker, it's not like giving them money make you a saint especially when that guy loves to speculates on copyrights.
Just like paying a bank ::) kind of a paradox.
Everyone else got paid according to their contract, even the Producers and Directors, what they earn through the rights are just candies that drop every year :D
(Of course some director/producer prefer a lower salary and more % on the rights, this has to be discussed when creating each contract).
True, it all depends on the contract as well. I remember my friend telling me how he knew someone who wrote novels, and she went through two choices when discussing her contract.
On one choice, she could get paid a lot of money in one go for her novel to be published, and then leave it at that.
Or, she could get paid really low and then gradually gain income as each book is sold. I guess it's the second one where her income would suffer a heavy blow due to piracy of a novel not in the first one where she would've been paid anyway (around £4,000 if I remember correctly.)
I have no experience with this stuff, it's just what I heard him tell me about what she told him. Movie contracts may be different compared to novel contracts as well but he told me actors have these choices too. What you said just reminded me of that example so I thought I'd share what I heard.
Maybe an actual author on here might know more from personal experience.

the amount of hate I have towards the entertainment industry for creating unskippable trailers/commercials... is still damn strong till this day. So much so that although I buy movies I rarely ever open the damn things out of a primal fear of unskippable trailers.
I haven't seen an unskippable trailer in many years.

Except if the film doesn't return enough money those people who made it are deemed failures and don't get further work. Whether the filmmakers get their royalties isn't the issue.

Check the bargain bin at walmart. Which are merely repackaged dvds that didn't sell when it was a trend. However I've seen a few blurays that do it, however I think the players content protection actually causes a lot of those errors if it can't log on line to check the cert.

That's why most creative artiest have unions. Still, rarely does the content creators get blamed for a movies bombing. That generally lies at the feat of the Director/Producer/Studio. However considering most are either salaried or independent contractors... they're paid up front and a movies success general only means how much extra revenue is available for investment after the big wigs line their pockets. Movies are over priced and it has nothing to do with small kine borrowing. :P
Still f**k, movies are dirt cheap today. I mean netflix is piss poor cheap compared to the old way to watch movies at home.

Don't have those here. The only DVDs that still have them are the old ones. New DVDs/Blu barely even have trailers, let alone unskippable ones.

... those
are the content creators. Director's movie bombs? Might get another chance, but if their movies don't earn money they don't get projects.
Shit, the bar for how much money they need to make is constantly getting raised, too. David Lynch can't get a film off the ground because 20-80 million dollar budgets are barely with the risk for studios any more.

Yea but there blame is heavily shared where as the big names on the posters are the ones that take the lions share of the blame. Which makes sense, since they also take the glory when the movie is successful. Of course things could be done differently in your neck of the woods. Here all the professional trades from concept art to set construction to water-person are mostly union so whether a movie bombs or not is not at issue. That and most of the back work and even the cgi is rarely to blame for a movie sucking. It's the execution that usually causes it.
However with cgi so heavily incorporated it shouldn't be surprising how movie budgets have grown astronomically large. It's a collegiate (very high skill) profession that takes thousands of people in some cases.
What are you talking about? You agree if a movie bombs that the people on the poster take the blame - which hurts future employment opportunities - then say 'but whatever, unions'.
Unions don't guarantee work. They are equally irrelevant to the discussion.
Crappy movies may kill off sequels, so yea, jobs for a particular franchise but that's life. However the demand for more movies is still there and there will be work to be had on other movies. Still when was the last time we blamed so and so from accounting or make up for a bad movie?
Most people who work on a movie get a prevailing wage for time invested. None of them see any cut from the profit stream. Nor is there a guarantee that the same people will even work on a sequel movie. Even less people are needed for re-release/director cut/etc products. Most of that profit still goes to production companies that dish it out to share holders. I mean we're talking about how people are paid and a bomb doesn't mean they don't get paid unless I'm missing something here.
Pay for your movies. The End.

... no, we're talking about how pirating movies affects bottom line which affects future business prospects for filmmakers. We're not talking about sequels or craft services.
Yes, they've already been paid. They might not get paid again. That's the issue.
Pirating does take a bite but I honestly don't think it is the problem that it once was. I don't know all that many people who pirate movies anymore. I mean sure, broke college kids do and lots of people do but once they get out in the real world it's easier to appreciate the work done to make a movie. Also there's so many streaming services now. It's just so easy to buy an entire tv series for 30 bucks now days. The industry took too long to offer streaming movies and hell are the reason for pirating. No, I don't support that 2 weeks out movie thing being discussed in the other thread.
Still we don't get refunds for wasting money on a shitty movie... and most studios pay next to nothing in taxes.

Yea and an asteroid might hit us tomorrow right? You're too much doom and gloom. This reminds me of the horror Hollywood have over video tape recorders and how that would be the end of movies. Honestly, nothing happened, theaters are still popular and an entire new economy of home movies was spawned. You really need to relax a bit.
What the f**k was this thread about again? Also, there really should be a date on the thread, every time I see it I'm thinking we're going to get new pics... of which none of us are paying for... double standard much. I mean if some one leaks footage are we not going to show it? Oh but that's alright? haha just piling it on since I have nothing better to do tonight.

Tell that to people like Lynch who can't get movies made because the budgets he works in aren't worth the risk any more. This isn't me being pessimistic, this is the state of the industry. It's well documented.

Honestly I don't know but I think I'm supposed to say "censorship is wrong, dude". :P
Also I'm starting to think that Sil doesn't even care about piracy but more so that Lynch can't get work... however that happens to a lot of people. There's several youtube channels dedicated to that type of situation.
It probably boils down to figuring out too much about the movie prior to release. And people figuring out so much that the whole movie and its plot is explained and the whole theatre experience is a letdown. So if they don't remain firm and take action that's probably what will happen.
At the end of the day, anything that comes out that isn't via Fox isn't something they want out there. They do like to orchestrate their own plans for releasing this information into the wild. More often than not they end up giving it away themselves but that's their own prerogative.
Well I had hoped they learnt from Prometheus the whole movie was basically figured out before it screened and I think they don't want that this time around . I mean to say that I think they want to prevent it from happening this time around. Who knows.
Yea it kind of sucks but I just cannot resist clicking those juicy links. Curse you guys. :P
Although fox does benefit form the fevered pitch free viral marketing you all do for them. So it's a double edged sword. Still we rarely ever get that special surprise that was seeing a movie not knowing what was going to happen. Then again Alien: Covenant is sequelitis or in this case prequelities. We really did ruin ourselves with the internet.
Prometheus had a kick ass trailer but it also gave most of the movie away. I hope they at least try to restrain themselves this time.
Would be nice if they learned from The Force Awakens marketing and realised you don't need to give away the plot in the trailer for people to be interested.

And REALLY! What the f**k does an asteroid have to do with stealing? I notice that people who STEAL movies always go out of their way to justify why it's okay.
I watch films mostly without knowing anything of the plot which means not even looking at a trailer or just once.
I only get hyper excited for films involving the alien, predator , King Kong, Godzilla and dinosaurs. I'm such a monster nerd lol.

Looks more like something from Blade Runner to me.
Now I remember why it reminds me of Blade Runner. That truck is a very close match to one of Ridley Scott's, Moebius-like-drawings he did for Blade Runner. It looks like the Covenant truck may also have tank tracks (since there's no tires) although I don't see any tracks in the picture.

I sometimes wanna live in the world where Scott drew comics instead of making films. Yes, I'd lose blade runner and Alien. Might gain something even cooler.
As much as I like Alien, I LOVE 70's scifi comics. Moebius, Jodorowsky, all that weird shit humanoids puts out. My winter project is reading the lot of heavy metal i bought off Kijiji. Every issue from the first till the end of 1985.
Love Scotts drawings, they're freaky, you can see how he can turn his visions into something real and tangible, he's already half way there with the sketches.
I'm happy with giant monkeys. Actually, bring it on!!!
