Deuterium

SON OF A BITCH!

I don't know how many hours I spent checking the discussed stars (ZR 2, Gilese 208, Epsilon Eridani, etc.) by converting their celestial coordinates (RA and Declination) over to Galactic coordinates, converting sexagesimal to decimal and even binary, and all that stuff...all in the hopes that the number 245409 popped out in some form.

And it was staring us in the face, right on the friggin' Cosmic Call Wikipedia page.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!

:P

Help me... I can't stay away from these forums even though I've said I've seen enough before June. :(

And this newly uncovered image isn't helping any.  Wow!!!

That is truly incredible!  I sincerely hope that's a shot from the film.  I doubt they would render a shot like that just for a website, right?  That needs to be in the film!

Ripley might like to take a page from the book of Vickers. Would've saved them a lot of trouble. ;D

With the god-damned comma. As has been said, a total dick move, and all we get is a photo.

Nice find - how on Earth did they figure out the password lol?
Quite easy, as it might seem now. Well, upon searching on Wiki something related to magic number 245409 you get results http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=245409&title=Special%3ASearch , where from it's more than clear, that this number relates to Orion constellation and sent to the star HD 245409 message from the Earth, which was named Cosmic Call 2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_Call
What you were left to do is just remove all blanks and arrows between the parts of the message and leave in the place, where it was, namely after PP, that stupid comma (what I personally didn't!!!  :o)
Anyway, I think, it was a stunning riddle!  ;)

Well, this sure as hell doesn't look much like the LV-426 we've seen in prior films, does it?  I believe that it has to be a different planet. The atmosphere and look seem completely different, but I guess we'll find out in June, eh?

Can't be a coincidence that it opened up after both the logins were cracked. There's something hidden in that bloody great image file, you mark my words.
