I doubt Mustaine knows as much about Milwaukee as Cooper does, but Dave Mustaine is smart as hell.

The way I live my life... Is based on this movie.
Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Hurt opened
Three Days Grace, not so awesome. Breaking Benjamin stole the show, they played the song from Halo 2, Hurt was great. Seether was...okay
Just got back from Gigantour. Holy shit it was f**king metal.
High on Fire - Slide solos make me bored.
Job For A Cowboy - Can't tell when one song ends and one begins. Snooze.
Children of Bodom - My biggest surprise of the night. Laiho has some fantastic solos, and they sounded great live. Fantastic energy, and a very different sound with the harmozing keyboard. I'm definitely going to start listening to them more.
In Flames - Great energy, some fantastic riffs, but definitely a big let down.
Megadeth - Dave sounded great, Shaun's energy on drums was great, James had great energy running around with the base, and Chris Broderick (their new guitarist for anyone who doesn't know) nailed every solo. He really nailed the Tornado of Souls main solo, he is a fantastic guitarist. I'm really looking forward to what he will bring to the next album. Also has fantastic tapping skills.
They didn't play Set the World Afire though. :(
Well, my last concert was The Cure on February, they played 3:15 hour set consisting of 37 songs and 3 encores. My next will probably either Buzzcocks or My Bloody Valentine.
Just saw U.S. Black Metal Legends MORBOSIDAD....One of the sickest shows i been to in a while.. I still have Goat cum in my ears... hahahaha

Last night, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest: Slipknot and Disturbed headlining along with Dragonforce and Mastodon.
Kid Rock at Corpus Christi, Texas
Alot of red neck ugly chicks smoking everywhere. It was windy and ash got in my eyes
That sux. I had to avoid inhaling so much weed and 2nd hand smoke last night, I thought I was gonna vomit.
and you know when your performer is like I wanna hear the sexy people, or this is for the sexy people. The worst looking people you had ever seen in your life would scream and cheer. It looked like your county fair where they bring in the rides from a trailer and set them up in a day. Oh and In the VIP section there was an orgy... Seriously. no one broke it up either. it was sorta cool because there were some hot chicks.
out of the two concerts ive been to, Peter Frampton(Bald) and styx was the best. come sail away was awesome.
ROFL, an orgy??!! Wow...never heard of that happening before. Where was the VIP section?
it was right in front of the stage :o i'm just shocked they didn't break it up. but rev run was there and peter wolf whoever he is. and rev run made a funny face at me when he saw my fro and he touched it 8)

some local gig a few years back.
I never get to see my favorite bands live T.T
December 13th at the Troubadour to see a secret show with THE CURE. So god damn awesome.
I went to the 'Easycore' tour last year, in Nottingham. It was a pretty good show, I mainly went to see Four Year Strong and New Found Glory but we only got to see the first 5 songs from NFG's set and then we had to catch the train back home. :(
Oh I go to see some metal bands nearly every week, mainly on thursdays becasue it's alternative night and a friend's band is usually playing then.
...I have college the day after too and it's a bitch trying to get up at 7AM with a hangover. :D
Dropkick murphys. I wasnt as impressed as i thought i was going to be. I saw them at the house of blues which is a small joint. It being a punk band i was expecting the atmosphere to be a little...shall i say "active".

I went to see Frank Turner on tuesday, because he was supporting The Gaslight Anthem in Nottingham.
Just went to the Rock and Worship Roadshow Tour this past weekend. It was very powerful.
Planning on attending Sonisphere 2009 on Sunday 2nd August, been years since I've actually been to a live festival or gig.
Lineup: http://uk.sonispherefestival.net/line-up/
Looks decent.
The Sonisphere line up looks great. I'm hoping I can get enough money to go.
Last couple of concerts:
- TestamenT, Unearth, Lazarus A.D.
- Amon Amarth, Goatwhore, Skeletowitch(!), Lazarus A.D.
- Kreator, Exodus, Belphegor, Warbringer, Epicurean
- Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, some local bands
- Metallica, Machine-Head
- AC/DC, The Answer
On the near future...
- Monstrosity
- Toxic Holocaust
I was working the MuchMusic Video Awards last night, so I guess you could say I was at a concert. I had to painfully sit through Lady Gaga, the Jonas Brothers, Black Eyed Peas, and a bunch of other idiots.

more like a typo that was ment to be after realizing of its arrival...
Wtf?
I'm going to see Slayer along with and a bunch of other bands at the Mayhem tour on Sunday in San Bernadino, I got pit tickets yesterday with some friends for $50 which is a pretty good deal, it's going to to be f***ing crazy, damn Slayer puts on a show...

was goign to go see em in denver... f**king sold out and people where sellign for 200$
i was pissed
Heard that. They are coming to Toronto, but tix were f**king expensive. Which is odd, considering I paid $60 to see Disturbed, Slipknot, Mastodon, and DragonForce all in one show.
I feel for you guys...we bought our tickets months ago...it was a three day festival, Fri-Sun...luckily they sold single day tickets so after Ticketmaster raped us, they came out to $105 each...
But I'm making up for it Saturday, going to see the 10 for $10 show...10 hardcore bands, including a reunited V.O.D., for a dollar each is a recession special if I ever seen one...have to hit up my hardcore roots... :) ...and then I have Dream Theater on Sunday...
August is looking good for Gates... 8)

Slipknot and Disturbed in Charlotte NC.
9th July, optimusAlive'09, Lisbon Portugal
Slipknot, Metallica, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Machine Head

Next week it's DreamTheater/Opeth then PorcupineTree then Pestilence... Gonna be a expensive few months!
I'm gonna try to go see chevelle at the house of blues on the 27th but i dont know if i want to risk the drive with my service engine light on.
I saw KISS live on the 17th. f**king awesome.
I was at Creationfest at the Gorge in Washington State. Ahh, amazing experice...
Oh and i'm going to see, Skillet, Hawk nelson, and decyfer down this halloween!
Creationfest?
...
Sounds hippie-ish
Oh, Creationfest is one Big Christian festival with lots and lots of Christian music artists, (Praise and worship) or (Christian Rock). Plus guest speakers. Its a four day event.
There's two each year. One in Washington state (Creation Northwest) and in Pennsylvania (Creation Northeast)
Best four days of my life!
That sounds horrible
No, actually it was the most refreshing time of my life!
If you mean its horrible cause of the music, dont judge a book by its Cover. There is some really Good Christian rock music out there. :)
Skillet,
Thousand foot krutch,
Haste the day,
Since october,
and lots more...
Look them up and hear some of there stuff, they're really good.
Just because they're Christian, doesnt mean they have no talent ;)
I was going to say it sounds preachy.
I hate christian rock. They may be talented with their instruments but the message is..well like DoomRulz said...Preachy.
I can understand that... but if you actually listen to most of it, its not so much preacy as it is...relatable, and loving. A lot of it is good to listen to, because it deals with the same everyday stuff we all deal with. It helps bring hope.
But, there is a lot of Christian music that is aggresive with there beliefs, but they never condemn those who dont believe.
Take "Thousand foot krutch" for example. Yeah, they believe and Christ and they are aggresive about it, but not so much "In your face" aggresive just "we're here to help" aggresive. TFK is my favorite band, check them out... they're pretty sweet...but you dont have to, just a suggestion.
Christian rock festival? Have you seen Eric Cartman somewhere nearby?
No, i've never heard of him
:D
:D
:D omfg I'm guessing he doesn't watch South Park lol XD
That was one of the funniest things I have every read. ;D
Last concert I was to was The Who. They were in Edmonton in 2006 I believe. I don't go to many concerts.
Just got back from a gig, nothing huge just some almost local bands playing. I think the headlining band was 'With Chaos In Her Wake'.
Megadeth in Milwaukee Tuesday night.

Got a couple lined up all over the UK as well that im really excited about. 2manyDJs in Leeds, Slow Club in Newcastle, Death From Above 1979 in London and im going to Bestival (The Cure are headlining) on The Isle Of Wight in September. Thats one good thing about living in the UK when it comes to music I suppose. If theres somebody playing you love and theyre not playing at the nearest city or town, the UK isnt a monstrous place to get around like the US so its an excuse to jump on a train to another city and make a weekend of it.
Im sure there'll be plenty more as the year goes on.
Judt got back from N.E.R.D. with jackalope! Had a really great time!
Arcade Fire in Decemeber at Cardiff, MCR in Cardiff last month, and ive got Elbow lined up for next week, with Glasvegas in may, then Reading festival in august. Hoping to get to see some other bands this year too.

Lucky guy and gal. :)
The last big show I went to was KISS last May, I've been to a couple of smaller gigs since then. I'm mainly waiting for Frank Turner's tour to come around, and The Gaslight Anthem to do one too.
Just got back from seeing Protest the Hero, Maylene & the Sons of Disater, and Tesseract at my local. Such awesome bands. :)
it was either Disturbed or Stone Sour at the end of last year, probably won't go to another one until Festival season,
Gah, I wanna see Stone Sour live!!! I didn't even know they were touring in 2010 :(
yeah, for audio secrecy, hell i saw them TWICE last year :D:D not only that but both times the concert was filmed for DVD stuff (when i saw them in the summer the songs they filmed were the DVD videos on the special edition of Audio Secrecy, and the time i saw them in the winter they were filming for a full live concert DVD, which i expect weill be out this year)
Ugh, they probably won't be touring again for another 2 years at least. But I am seeing Disturbed with Korn in 3 days ;D ;D

I really liked Korn live! Munky spat on me xD
nice, korn are great live, seen them a few times, and will be again this summer, although the time i enjoyed them most was when david was having his break before he quit for good, and joey jordison drummed for them, that was awesome.
I imagine the moshing will be nuts. Mayhem Fest, which featured Disturbed amongst others, had me crying for help lol
in my experience Disturbed concerts are tame in comparison to Korn concerts :D good luck! is it tonight?
Yup. That first concert though featured in this order: Mastodon, Dragonforce, Disturbed, and Slipknot. Seeing as how the mosh pits got worse and worse each time a new band came on stage, I learned the best way to deal with it is to not force your way up to the front and always stay balanced.
Haha, Dragonforce. They pretty much got their fame from Guitar Hero (at least for me). :P

Yeah, and it only cost $50 too 8)
So Music As A Weapon VI was good. Not great, but good. The opening band Stillwell was f**king amazing. New, nu-metal band that's just breaking out and they have really good material. I would encourage all rockers to check them out.
Disturbed was underwhelming. Draiman is really losing his voice when it comes to live performances. He's never been a good live singer, but last night was especially terrible. He skipped over words, wasn't as animal-like as he sounds on the CDs, and even needed the bassist to back him up. At least the music was good and Draiman is one hell of a showman. He knows how to get a crowd worked up.
Korn was insane. I haven't seen a crowd go that nuts for a band since I saw Slipknot. Though the best part for me wasn't the band, but rather, the two hot chicks next to me that we're making out the entire time ;D
The Decemberists ...
Or was it Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade?

My buddy and I are debating if we want to go both days, just coz Downsview Park is pain in the ass to get to. Takes almost 2 hours via public transit. The Saturday lineup is the better of the two, that's for sure.
I'm so pissed though that Godsmack and Mayhem Fest aren't coming to Toronto. They have given no reason at all.
I went to the Azalea Festival on Sunday. Saw three bands and a nameless guitar duet doing Jimmy Buffet covers. The bands I saw were
- The Rockin' Horse band
- Madonna Nash
- The Phantom Playboys
All three were a mixture of rock 'n roll, alternative, and country.

The sunday line up is weak in some respects (billy talent wtf) but I really want to see Slayer and Mastodon, and everything else is just more band for my buck :D
It's Rob Zombie I want to see more than anything else. I echo your thoughts on Billy Talent being there; it's like JT at the SARS Concert. At least BT is rock though. Not stupid teen pop music.
i am seeing Rob Zombie this summer! :D
The bands I am most pumped to see at Heavy TO are
Megadeth
Slayer
Testament
Anthrax
Mastodon
Motorhead
Opeth and
Children of Bodom
Don't know if I'm glad or not that Metallica isn't going..
I'm not :( I missed them in 2010 and for some reason the Big Four isn't coming to Canada!!! This concert though, is essentially The Big Four without Metallica if you think about it.

Lenny is very unbadass sounding. I'm glad he is named Lemmy.
Looks I'll be heading down for both days ;D now the second part of the debate begins...Live Nation tix or not...
Heading down to Leeds tomorrow night to stop at a mates and go see 2ManyDJ's. ;D

I'm getting mine friday or later in the weekend. My friend's dad and his godfather are renting about 5 of us a room, gonna be fun :P
Why rent a room? Didn't you say you were only an hour away from T.O.?
I just got back from seeing Disturbed live in Newcastle. This was the first of their live shows I'd ever been to, & it was f**king awesome. The song lineup was perfect & the crowd was pumped as hell.
One funny thing I noticed was that David screwed up some of the lyrics to "Warrior". I'm not sure how many others caught that.

Because it takes away driving home at whats probably going to be midnight and then getting up again early to drive there again, 2+ hours of carride. And plus it will be like a sleepover :3 haha
Why get there early? Main stage doesn't usually start till 6 PM at the earliest I would imagine.
Copied from their site: "Heavy T.O. doors will open at 11:30AM with performances beginning at 1:00PM. Performances end at 11:00PM." The lineups are too large to do in just the evening I would imagine.
Also this weekend I'm seeing Protest the Hero, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and Tesseract on friday (second time seeing this show), a local hardcore show on Saturday night (its the RIP show for a band called King Cobra that has been around forever, a large turnout is expected :) ), and Rammstein on Sunday at the ACC. f**k. Yeah.
f**k yeah, I'm going to Rammstein as well!!! Which section you in?

Summer Slaughter
Slaughter Survivors
Amon Amarth
Obscura
God is an Astronaut
Yeah some dec things happening.
Going to Evolution in Newcastle tomorrow to see Hercules & Love Affair, The Kills, Two Door Cinema Club and Iggy And The Stooges ;D
Went to Evolution today. Saw Cattle & Cane & The Good Lovelies at Ballast Hill who were both excellent, and saw Hercules & Love Affair, The Kills, Two Door Cinema Club and Iggy & The Stooges at Spillers Wharf. Iggy & The Stooges were great but could have been better, but they were restricted by an hour set. I felt the same way about The Kills. It was great to see them live but the crowd and atmosphere was crap, and they only had 45 minutes. Cant wait to see them again at Leeds.
Allison sure is weirder than I thought on stage though. Covering her face with her hair most of the time and then putting her hands over her face the rest. Shes a bit of an odd one, but thats why I love them. A bit weird, but intriguing for sure.
My city rarely gets any good bands...except at Bluesfest. ;D
I would of been going to Rob Zombie concert next week but he cancelled 2 weeks prior. Here is his twitter statements.
''Sorry to all that we had to cancel the shows in Ireland. We will come back and make it up to everyone. Sometimes shit happens. Again sorry.''
''Yes, I know it sucks. I hate canceling shows. It is never something we take lightly. Sorry some of you don't seem to understand.''
''Thank you Berlin. Awesome night last night!''
f**k YOU ROB ZOMBIE.
Guess you're one of those guys he's referring to.

shame, i saw Rob Zombie on sunday and it was amazing. :( if it makes you feel any better it was pouring with rain the whole time.
anyway last concert i went to was Download Festival.
Motorhead, Clutch, and Valliant Thor back in March.
And it was f**king awesome.
Only 4 weeks till Heavy T.O., w00t!!!
The Black Keys (Deer Lake, Vancouver).
I'm still recovering from the awesome. Went with the lady friend, my friends, and two of my cousins... we were all speechless afterward. It was an outdoor one too, so we just relaxed out on the grass... wonderful experience.
It was a while ago but it was Alice in Chains, Mastodon and the Deftones. It was a killer show
I was at day 1 of Heavy T.O. yesterday and what a day it was!! I saw Diamond Head, Children of Bodom, Motörhead, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Excellent sets all around I must say. Today it's day 2: Mastodon, Slayer, Billy Talent (?), and Rob Zombie ;D ;D ;D
Day 2 of Heavy T.O. was better than I expected. I'm not sure if Slayer or Rob Zombie put on a better live show. RZ certainly had the better visuals and there was more to ogle at, whereas Slayer had no visuals to speak of yet, by pure musical force, they just commanded an intense show. Both bands sounded amazing live so I can't say one was better than the other in that aspect. I felt bad for Billy Talent though becaue people were hurling water bottles at them. If you don't like the band, then just go do something else. Simple as.

:D
Truthfully, there was only one tentacle porn shot and it was only 3 seconds long. Everything else was just random boob flashes haha. But it really was a spectacle. The man knows how to rock out.
The Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Four days of some great performers; Taj Mahal, K.T. Tunstall, Edward Sharpe, Lyle Lovett, John Mayell, Joe Louis Walker, Andrew Bird, Noah and the Whale, Imelda May, this great Irish group called Kíla (who made staring at clouds f**king epic), and countless others.
Funnest moment was definitely while listening to this Quebecois Folk group called Les Temps Antan. Had this great beat that made everyone just get up and dance.
The Tragically Hip on July 30th.
Just got back from Leeds Festival on Monday and I caught these live acts / DJ's.
Best Coast, Dave The Elephant, Friendly Fires, DFA 1979, Elbow, Muse, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero's, Naked & Famous, Foster The People, Metronomy, The Offspring, Simian, Digitalism, Joy Formidable, Pigeon Detectives, Seasick Steve, Two Door Cinema Club, Jimmy Eat World, Madness, The Strokes and finally Pulp.
I also saw SBTRKT play live in a small tent after Pulp (the final headline act of the weekend) and Two Door Cinema Club then came on and did a DJ set. Two Door had played live earlier that day and SBTRKT had done a DJ set in the dance tent the day before and had come back for the sunday to do a little live show to keep the party going ;D
Brilliant weekend.
I enjoyed all of the performances above but my standouts were Best Coast, DFA, Muse, Naked & Famous, Metronomy, Simian, Madness and Pulp. While I enjoyed seeing them live for the first time I thought Strokes were piss poor as a live act. Dont know if it was because they headlined Reading and then Pulp headlined Leeds so they werent arsed but it was completely forgetable for me. Pulp on the other hand were superb.
Just saw Chased By Wolves, The Lake Poets, Mystery Jets, King Blues, Frankie & The Heartstrings and The Charlatans at the weekend at a little mini festival at a local cricket club.
Tonight im off to The Cluny in Newcastle to see Emmy The Great and Im so damn excited.
About a year ago I saw Bruce Springsteen for like the sixth time. Best performer I've ever seen. Ruins every other concert I go to because he's that mind blowing of a performer
Just saw Judas Priest last night.
Just need the Sabbath reunion to actually and I can die happy.

There's about as much chance of that happening as Guns N' Roses doing the same.
Most recent for me has been the Feeling down at the Bristol O2, was a really good night. I have the Smashing Pumpkins lined up next on the Sat 19th, with Explosions in the Sky the night after at the Bristol O2.
Gordon Lightfoot... ;D
He has changed a line in the Edmund Fitzgerald since the discovery of the cause of the wreck.
Oh, that would've been great.

Oh, well, they tour often in Canada.
last concert for me was The Big Four concert at Yankee Stadium. That was my first concert and holy crap I was blown away, almost literally (I was sitting in front of a speaker!!!) I was turned on the Anthrax and grew a greater appreciation for Megadeth. Metallica was the main reason I was there and they did not disapoint.
I was supposed to go see Friendly Fires and SBTRKT last night but the gig was rescheduled for the 18th of December. And today ive just bought tickets to see Justice in Febuary up in Glasgow. Cant wait for that, havn't seen them live for over 3 years.
Evangelista (Carla Bozulich and her backing band) the other day, I met her and one of the band members, John Eichenseer with whom I hang out for like 40 minutes and he was so kind that he gave me his 2 CDs for free, I took some photos with him. Overall, an awesome experience :)
Shamefully enough, the last gig I went to was about eighteen months ago. I saw Aerosmith in London and they were fantastic. Before that .... I can't remember. I want to say System of a Down, but that was YEARS ago :-S
Think Friendly Fires is rescheduled for this week so i'll be going to that. Hopefully SBTRKT will still be supporting. But the big ones still to come. The Boss next summer. And at my team's stadium to boot! Cant ruddy wait!
Seen White Lies in Wolverhampton monday, was awesome!
Butthole Surfers back in Sept. It was a crazy friggin show..
hmmm, due to budgetary reasons this was Sonata Arctica In Antwerp in march or april 2011... The girlfriend likes it...
Friendly Fires and Totally Enourmous Extinct Dinosaurs in Newcastle, the weekend before Christmas. I was disapointed SBTRKT where no longer supporting but I was equally excited when I found out TEED had replaced them. Absolutely excellent and I enjoyed TEED more than Friendly Fires (who's tour it was).

Friendly Fires? SWEET. i live in sweden, i dont believe they have come here ever. loved their latest album.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs? sounds hipster-douchy. they any good?
This summer, i was in gothenburg, here in sweden, it was a sweet festival called Way Out West. this is why i came:
Janelle Monae
Empire Of The Sun
Prince
Explosions In The Sky.
and finsihed it of with Kanye Motherf***in West.
it was amazing.
I saw more artist, but there were alot of shit among the best.
TEED are excellent. SBTRKT were supposed to be supporting but when the original gig got cancelled and then rescheduled it got changed to TEED and I was over the moon.

yeeeeah, i am sorry, i judge everything by the cover first, and then i get into it, and often love it. thats how i do stuff.
I will give them a listen, thanks! :D
I'm seeing Rise Against on May 10th, w00t!!! Hopefully the mosh pits won't be too insane. They aren't quite RATM.

I went to Evanescence in Newcastle the other night. I have to say it was an amazing show, the whole band had so much energy on stage & Amy Lee's voice sounds just as perfect in person as it does on their records. I'll definitely be going back to see them again when they tour next.

Yeah, I jelly :( haven't seen Trivium since their first tour. Never seen FFDP.
FFDP...that is probably the most creative band name I've heard in the last few years. They were at Heavy T.O. last year IIRC, but I didn't watch their set.
Anyone else going to the Orion music festival June 23rd and 24th in Atlantic City?
My most recent was Opeth/Mastodon/Ghost at the Sony Center in Toronto ON. Pretty kickass show, although seated venue so no mosh was had. Most of the bands played their prog rock stuff anyway. Opeth only played 2 of their old death metal songs, but their whole set was fantastic so whatever. Mastodon was my least favourite cause i'd already seen them twice previously. Ghost was spectactular, especially considering I hadn't heard any of their songs previously. Creepy nameless ghoul priests playing macabre old school heavy metal, f**king killer.
Did anyone else catch this tour? Anyone else a fan of these bands? gimme a shout yo

Well, ive been to one gig, but it was a very small gig for a local unsigned band...was good fun though.
Went to Deadmau5 last fall, was epic.
This year I went to SXSW, saw a few 'indie' acts like Anoraak. Also some death metal band at Hoek's (a crazy pizza place with a stage for metal bands). Lastly some small electronic venues which were kinda cool.

that is a great lineup. well, i'm not really into baroness, but meshuggah and decapitated are epic. the first 4 decapitated albums are all brilliant! meshuggah are a bit hit and miss, but their best is brilliant too. (catch33, chaosphere and destroy erase improve)
seen agalloch in london a month or 2 back. some really nice doom/black/folk type metal!
Dude agalloch is so rad! They are playing in Toronto in july at a decent venue so I'm super stoked on that.

I just got home from Volumes + The Contortionist at a local venue in my town. It's the first local show I've been two in like 6 or 8 months so it was awesome to see all the familiar faces and a lot of new ones too. Love the scene in Barrie. The contortionist is my all time favourite band at the moment, so seeing them again and chatting with them about the new album and upcoming headlining tour was awesome.

This is the kind of shit that happens at barrie shows
Never seen that in Toronto; we're too busy getting drunk and headbanging to coordinate a human pyramid, haha.
i dunno if you old geezers are much for house music, but Swedish House Mafia is splitting up, as a swede, that mkes me very sad, what makes me happy though, is that their last concert will be here in sweden, and i bought tickets to it today!

LMAO no lol Maiden was on the friday night and warped was on the sunday morning, both at Ontario place in and around the amphitheater.
Warped tour has (largely crappy) music that is popular with the youths. I went to see Every Time I Die and a couple specific others.

I was there at the Saturday show!! Despite all the mud and almost throwing up from eating that God-awful Colossal Onion, it was an amazing show. Slipknot was better than ever, and I am now an In Flames, Gojira, and Suicidal Tendencies fan.
How was System of a Down??? I COULDN'T MAKE IT ON THE SUNDAY!!!!!!
Oh god the blooming onions were so gross and totally not worth 10 bucks looking back. I'm a slipknot fan now, and I wish In Flames had of played at least one older song. Suicidal was pretty sick for me only knowing 1 song of theirs.
My favourite sets were Gojira, Protest the Hero, and Dillinger Escape Plan (holy f**k I love Dillinger holy f**k holy f**k)
System of a Down was really awesome but the best band on Sunday was cannibal corpse for sure \m/
I have never been to concert well unless you count teenage mutant ninja turtles live :D

I caught the tail end of Gojira and it was enough to sell me on them as a legit metal band. You weren't a Slipknot fan before?!!? For shame...
KISS and Motley Crue on The Tour. Yes it was called "The Tour." and it was the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life.

I had fallen out of love with them for about a year or two in favour of other more metal bands, and seeing them re-confirmed my fandom for them in a way. Yeah Gojira is super rad.
Went to go see The Kills perform last night, and it was insanely awesome!
Leeds Festival at the weekend. I saw Little Comets, Of Monsters and Men, Django Django, The Joy Formidable, SBTRKT, The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Justice, The Hives, Adam Hills (Comedian), Passion Pit, The Cure, Mystery Jets, Grimes, Miike Snow, The Vaccines, Azealia Banks, The Cribs and Kasabian.
Journey - California Mid-State Fair at the end of July.
Oh and a couple of weeks ago I went to a little festival in Stockton and saw Willie Mason, The Go Team, We Are Scientists and The Pogues.
Just saw SoaD a few weeks ago, they are pretty much back to form, but Daron gained so much weight I was shocked (must be off whatever drugs he was on)...and before that, I was grateful to finally see Pink Floyd live at the Yankee Stadium show - f**king amazing..!
EDIT: Just got tickets for Lamb of God and Hatebreed at Roseland, NYC..! Anyone going..?
Warped Tour 2012.
It was great, I rather enjoyed myself. Might go next year if I have the funds.
Orion music festival in Atlantic city was the last concert(s) I went to. Anyone else go?
That was last June, right..? I was gonna go but I've seen them so many times, something else came up, and I was like f**k it...
Did you go the Ride the Lightning night, or the Black (ewww) night..?
I was their both nights. Ride the lightning night was ok but pretty tame. Most of the crowd was dead. Black album night was a completely different animal. The crowd was really into it. Their was also so much more then just Metallica. Over 30 bands played over the course of the weekend as well the car show, the meuseum and comedy shows.
Metalocalypse last night, featuring Black Dhalia Murder, All That Remains, Machine Head, and Dethklok.
Yeah.
;D ;D ;D
Red Hot Chili Peppers. I thought they were crazy and flailing about while they were on stage, but I've heard stories that they were even more maniacal back in the '90s. Really wanna look up some videos now.
But yeah, wonderful surprise concert, with great music, great musicians, and holy shit that was loud. I think I have some slight hearing damage from this.
Most bands from the 90's that are still together were better live in the 90's. They were younger and had more spirit. Korn comes to mind. Jonathan Davis used to have his famous freak outs on stage. Up till 1997 he would get so upset he'd be laying on the stage crying.
Apparently Metallica used to put on some crazy shows in the late 80s when they were really popular. I've heard stories of them tossing beer bottles at the crowd.
Saw GWAR, Devildriver, + Cancer Bats in Toronto on saturday. Kick ass show.
Its been a while, but the last show I went to was The Summer Slaughter Tour. Watching Periphery, The Faceless, and Between The Buried and Me was an absolute blast.
Saw Soundgarden with my dad and Tenacious D with my brother. I was borderline raped at the D concert.
I'm not kidding.

Nice..! And as much as I'm glad the
Black night had a better crowd for you, it pains me to read that... :)
Meh, today's crowd can't appreciate real metal if they've grown up with radio music.
Maybe I wouldn't go that far...generally, people are a product of their times and too lazy to dig deeper, so it's only natural that the younger crowd is more familiar with the newer shit...
With metal, I find it's a love it or hate it affair. I have yet to meet someone who's in between.

U like Soundgarden Doom? Had no idea. That's awesome dude! Nobody I talk to my age group seems to like them. Thinks Cornell can't sing for WHATEVER reason I will never understand. They've been my favorite for some time now.
U gotz good taste 8)
I'm not a diehard fan because I haven't heard much of their music, but I respect them as a band. I love Black Hole Sun, amazing song.
These days, live, Cornell's voice is hit-or-miss...you figure with his style of singing, that voice wouldn't last forever so it's understandable...
How anyone thinks he can't sing is crazy to me though...just make them listen to Jesus Christ Pose...
That's exactly what I tell em dude! Perfect example. When I saw him live solo, he NAILED every note of it live. Its weird how we think its amazing on record, but when u hear that a human being can do something like that live in person, its so surreal.
It's too bad David Draiman can't do the same...
The Tragically Hip. Goddamn, that was insane. I knew as soon as Gordon Downie canoed across the stage using his mic stand as a paddle that I was in for something special. One of the loudest concerts I've been to (these guys rivalled the goddamn Chilli Peppers for decibel level), and one of the most purely entertaining. So many fantastic songs that they played, yet so many more I wish I'd heard. The most surreal moment by far was when Downie began talking about his relationship with both his microphone and his mic stand, as he stroked both in a somewhat sensual manner.
Oh Christ, my ears are in actual physical pain right now.

Oh man, when New Orleans is Sinking started being played, the whole arena just exploded.
Yeah, it was tonnes of fun. Downie is one of the strangest performers I've ever seen, and I loved every minute of his antics.
They didn't play Three Pistols or 50 Mission Cap, which disappointed me slightly, but they have so many great tunes they'd ultimately leave something out no matter what.
This mofo got tickets for Clint Mansell, live, at a f**king church..! :D
Glory..!
Saw Bosnian Rainbows 5 days ago. Super stolked for June though.... BONNAROOOOOOOOOOO! :D

Love em! Saw them with The Mars Volta back in '11 at Red Rocks! SPOON MAN!
Sooo, that Mansell show was Wed night...was awesome...Aronofsky was on hand for introductions, and then the music started and it was incredible...they played sets of three songs for Pi, Moon, Last Night, Stoker, Requiem for a Dream, and The Fountain...before each set, Mansell gave little anecdotes about the corresponding film (except for Moon and Pi -- Aronofsky talked about Pi)...Kronos Quartet ripped it up, as did the other musicians...there were special appearances by Peter Broderick and Emily Wells (Broderick via Skype or maybe a prerecording, Wells live)...all of this on the altar of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, which was hilarity, but also added to the experience in a haunting sort of way...
Overall, it was more than I was expecting live for music that is essentially dark, ominous tones...really enjoyed it and would love to see them again...
That sounds fantastic, man.
It really was, man...Ms. Mojo recorded The Fountain set (our fav), I could put it up if anyone is interested..? :)
That sounds super cool. I love the music in all of those movies.
Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013.
Holy shit. Just... holy shit. Two absolutely fantastic nights.
Mere words would not do this justice, so I'll just post the performers list and let your imagination do the rest:
Albert Lee
Allan Holdsworth
Allman Brothers Band
Andy Fairweather Low
B.B. King
Blake Mills
Booker T
Brad Paisley
Buddy Guy
Citizen Cope
Dave Biller
Doyle Bramhall II
Earl Klugh
Eric Clapton
Gary Clark Jr.
Jeff Beck
Jimmie Vaughan
John Mayer
John Scofield
Jonny Lang
Keb Mo
Keith Urban
Keith Richards
Kurt Rosenwinkle
Los Lobos
Matt "Guitar" Murphy
Quinn Sullivan
Robbie Robertson
Robert Cray
Robert Randolph
Sonny Landreth
Steve Cropper
Taj Mahal
Vince Gill
To top it all off, Dan Aykroyd introduced all of the sets.
Some stand out moments:
Clapton, Andy Fairweather*, Vince Gill, Doyle Bramhall II doing an acoustic Wonderful Tonight.
*As an aside, I just have to mention that Fairweather awesomely looks like an English professor whilst absolutely shredding the guitar and belting out the Blues like a goddam Delta legend.
Booker T, Keb Mo, Cropper, Mills, and others just jammin' it up playing Green Onions.
Gary Clark Jr. playing Don't Owe You a Thing solo; just him, his guitar, a bass drum, and a high-hat.
Robert Cray doing Great Big Old House (which was beautiful), shortly before being joined by Clapton, Vaughan, and the King himself on stage.
Dan Aykroyd going full Blues Brothers whilst talking between the sets; one minute he's just normal Dan. In the blink of an eye, Keb Mo's out there with him, sunglasses have somehow materialized on his face, and there's a harmonica in his hand, and he starts coverin' Muddy Waters and singing about how he's gonna go down to Louisiana and have sex with anything that has a pulse.
John Mayer and Keith Urban covering Don't Let Me Down. I never really liked those two musicians too much before, but after seeing them here, I have a very deep respect for them both; absolutely masterful guitarists, and their rendition of the song was simply beautiful.
The most surreal moment was when Clapton started up the big finale, with Keith Richards appearing out of nowhere (hadn't been on the lineup), backed up by a drummer who looked like a cross between Idris Elba and Paul Winfield, and a pianist who unfortunately had the distinct honour of appearing the result of a wild love affair between Eric Idle and Sméagol.
Also, absolutely everything that Buddy Guy did or was remotely involved in. I am of the opinion he's the greatest guitarist I've ever seen, and those are big words considering the company he kept over the weekend.
There's tonnes of other moments, but way to many to list them all. I know there's at least a dozen other things that I just can't think of right now. It was a wonderful two evenings of Rock 'n' Roll, Blues, Jazz, and even a little bit of Funk (courtesy of the Slow Hand himself).
"See you in three years," were Eric's closing words.
Oh God, I hope so, was all I thought in reply.

Needless to say, I enjoyed this outing much more. ;D

Awesome, at least it was a rivalry game, those are always fun (crap teams or not)... :)
I think the place has incredible acoustics for a big venue...some of the others I've been to really make it stand out...
Yeah, the acoustics were fantastic for an arena.
The Musical Box (Genesis cover band from Canada) playing The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway in its entirety in November 2011. They are the only band that all the original members from Genesis support; they told them EVERY minute detail for re-constructing concerts from their 1970s albums. I told myself I will not see any other concert until they come back, playing whatever albums/songs they choose.
UNLESS, Tears For Fears comes within 150 miles of Pittsburgh ;)
I just managed to get into the formerly secret warm up Peace gig last night in a small crowded venue. It was great. Much better live, less polished sounding.

Rammstein on April 20th 2012.
Best show I've ever been to, their amazing live sound wise, they sound better live than they do on their albums. The show is extremely theatrical and entertaining, lots of pyrotechnics, lights, confetti cannons, foam cannon painted suggestively... :D . The crowd was the best crowd I'd ever been apart of. I'm a 230 pound 6' 4" guy and I got pushed around by a 5 foot nothing what must have been 90 or 100 pound girl who was just as hyped as I was, I fell over in the middle of the pit and some dude grabbed my arm and helped me up before my butt ever touched the floor. Everyone I ran into (literally and otherwise) was great.
The band members are extremely humble, not something I expected from a band as successful and one that has been around as long as they have.
Did you also get to see the "random crowd guy" jump on stage only to be doused in flames by Till then be dragged off by security?
My friend just ordered tix for us to see YES! They are playing "Close To The Edge, The Yes Album and Going For The One albums in their entirety! August 5th can't get here soon enough!
Finally got to see ASG again..
Roky Erikson / 13th Floor Elevators at the Great American Music Hall in SF (CA) two weeks ago.
Bon Jovi. I'm not a fan, but the First Lady is and she got tickets so cheap it would've been stupid to pass up. I maybe knew a quarter of the songs they played across 2 hours 45 minutes, but a lot of the ones I didn't know were pretty catchy.

Saw Megadeth at the Paramount in Huntington, NY back in December. I night I won't forget anytime soon.
Hmm couple months back went to see Pop Evil and Stone Sour. Like a month ago went to see one of my favorite bands Silverstein. Sadly, they were't the main act. They opened for Bless the Fall. Will probably be seeing Five Finger Death Punch soon.
Aw snap, I love Stone Sour! Are they good live?
(Concert DVD)
I watched this YEARS ago when I purchased it. Thought it was ok, but I really didn't know all the songs. Now, years later, I am FAR more educated on PSB and what everything they perform is about and my views on this concert are VERY good. Chris Lowe puts more bass and beats in the tracks and it really shows! I wish I had a fraction of his talent on keyboards... The dancers and visuals are well thought out and you can tell they trained hard. Overall a great show from PSB and makes me want to see them on tour when they get back around to the states once the new album (gasp!) is recorded and released hopefully next year!
9.2/10
Last saturday I caught one of the dates of the Despised Icon reunion tour!! It was f**king awesome, lemme tell yeah. Dunno if there are any deathcore fans in here but DI is (was) THE best, hands down.

nice dude. def on my list to see before i die/they break up whichever is first. they played in toronto but i couldnt make it.
Yeah man, definitely a must see...this is the second time I've seen them since they got back together and they just keep getting tighter...the new album is meh but they don't play much off it...they opened with
The Real Thing, amaze...
While I can't say I attended it, but I just watched Queen at Live Aid 85. Freddie Mercury was sensational and Brian May was superb. One day I will break down and watch the entire Live Aid 85... I was a mere 4 months old when it happened at the moment in 1985!
Jethro Tull ;D
5 Stars * * * * *
Ian Anderson was amazing...
Pittsburgh Pride featuring Ke$ha
The acts were as follows:
Silver Haze (a lesbian rap duo from Detroit), actually decent and were a good opener.
Wrabel - a kinda Zedd copy (only gay), but his songs were mellow yet upbeat.
After a while, Ke$ha finally came on the stage and performed for over an hour. My views on Ke$ha have always been meh, but man did she put on a great show! Everyone was singing along and dancing, having a grand ole time. Makes me wonder what will be in next year's Pride... ???
Btw, my ticket was 50$ (as was everyone else's) and the venue was a small stage with laser lights and spotlights on the middle of a street in downtown Pittsburgh. Great first Pride concert! As you can imagine, the men were kissing each other as were the lesbians, I felt like I did belong there and was wonderful to finally see same sex relationships flourish without any political or religious in differences/bs.
Welcome to Rockville back in April.
Two day Rock/Metal festival. Got to see Anthrax and Megadeth front row.
I would love to go to a WHO concert but there all the way up north.
I saw Nails from California on Sunday night in Toronto.
IRON MAIDEN.
Book of Souls world tour.
3rd time I've seen this utterly amazing band - what can I say, still the greatest live rock act on the planet.
UP THE IRONS
I'll be going to be seeing Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge, and Saint Asonia on Tuesday. I've heard good things about this tour.
i seen The Birthday Massacre with MXMS Last November
im Hoping to see The Birthday Massacre again in concert next year in the spring
Pet Shop Boys in Madison Square Theater (at MSG)
The music, the visuals, the crowd, the awe. Possibly the greatest concert experience I ever had!
Item crossed off bucket list/10
Death Angel, Anthrax, and Slayer at The Sound Academy. It was definitely not the ideal venue for heavy metal. My ears were being pierced so badly halfway through Slayer's set that I had to plug them up.

VERY F**KING COOL.
Anthrax is my favourite band of all time (been a fan since the mid 80s) and I've been a Slayer fan for decades too. Used to love Death Angels' Seemingly Endless Time.
Hope your ears are better now.

Anthrax had a better set IMO because they were more lively. The lead singer (name escapes me right now) along with Scotty always keep everyone energised. Slayer had a very Satanic backdrop which was keeping in line with their music and it looked bloody awesome, but they were kinda meh in how they reacted to the crowd.
And thanks haha. They were ringing for almost a week after the show was over!

Yep Anthrax always are very energetic on stage. Joey (Belladonna) has a great voice and presence in the band - happy he's back (though I did love their John Bush era music too).
I've seen Slayer live 3 times and whilst I'm a huge fan I can agree that they stand their belting out their songs and not much else. I miss Jeff :-(
Saw Ghost in Jacksonville on November 4th. f**king great show.
The Wiggles with my 2 young daughters and wife.
I've seen Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Lamb of God, Hatebreed and so many other brutal metal bands live but that Wiggles performance was absolutely brutal.

Wanna hear something depressing? I saw Slayer live for the first time in 2012, when Hanneman was still around. I had no idea what that meant :-[
@DoomRulz I think most of us had no idea Jeff's life would be cut short at such a young age. Feel blessed we got to see him live - I know I do and as sad as it is to not have him around any more at least his music is still there for all of us.
Black Sabbath - The End (The Final Show)

Was a fantastic show
Crazy World of Arthur Brown at Slim's in SF. Great show despite him not wearing his burning fire contraption hat, especially felt weird when they played the classic "Fire". Someone said that the ceiling was to low for him to wear that thing (fire hazard). Anyways, great show. He still got it - he's a human acid trip.
Just got back from...
Tears For Fears / Darryl Hall and John Oates
All I can say about TFF is... I was in the eighth row and made direct eye contact with Roland Orzabal for a solid second. I am going to be in awe until my death. :D
Crossed off another bucket list item/10
As for Hall and Oates, it was surprisingly very VERY good. Was a tad sad they didn't play Adult Education, but the 15 minute jazz rock version of I Can't Go For That was absolute brilliance and pure musicianship.
9.5/10
The missing .5 was because Hall looked upset his main guitar kept screwing up.
Living Colour at the Gov (here in Adelaide).
Still the coolest band on the planet. Better than ever.
Seen The Maccabees at Alexandra Palace in London, part of their farewell tour, was amazing! Absolutely beautiful and was emotional for me, it being the last time i'll see them live, adore The Maccabees.
Carpenter Brut
Coldplay in Frankfurt. They are a great live band.
Blink 182 back in July, great show but no the same without Tom Delonge.
Alice Cooper, The Mission and The Tubes at The Arena Birmingham back in November last year.
Such a great show. All bands fitted well together and seeing the encore with the surviving O.G's was brilliant
The Butterfly Effect - local legendary cult Aussie rock band who recently reformed for a series of gigs. BRILLIANT! Got to see it with my son (and ex wife - weird). Was an awesome gig.
Seeing Suicidal Tendencies next Monday for the 3rd time!! GO CYCO!!!!
Roger Waters last month. Mental As Anything this month.

Where you seeing Mental as Anything mate?
Great band.
Suicidal Tendencies (with Dave Lombardo).
LOUD. FAST. BRILLIANT.
I'm deaf but deliriously happy. What a set - all the classic ST songs.
Lombardo absolutely destroyed reminding me why he's still in the absolute echelon of metal drummers.

Grand Hotel in Mornington. Right up the front. Could've turned off Greedy's keyboard if I was a dick. Had a brief yack to him afterwards.

Nice!!! Wasn't aware you were a fellow Aussie!
My nephew and his missus live down that way - beautiful area.
Yup. I didn't know you lived in Adelaide. Lived there for a year back in 1986.

I lived in Melbourne for 7 years (2000-2007). Loved it.
Small world :-)
;D
Saw Modest Mouse last night and now have the post concert blues. They are phenomenal live and Issac is hilarious when he rambles between songs.

I've been fortunate to see them previously (5 times). They've always been superb.
And I'll state that as much as I love Metallica it was always Megadeth first for me. Of course my big fav is Anthrax. Enjoyed Slayer too but got into them much later and had the pleasure of seeing them off on their farewell tour.
Finally was able to see Pearl Jam the other day. I also just secured some tickets to Knotfest!
Whitesnake, Foreigner & Europe
May 22nd Birmingham Utilita
:o How'd they sound live?
Went to see Tool last month. Amazing stuff.

Really good honestly
Sure Coverdale's vocals are nowhere near where they were in the glory days, but what an entertainer.
Also sad that Mick Jones wasnt well enough to join Foreigner onstage, but still a great set and the band is in safe hands
