Title: How is it that anything can survive the Blazer?
Post by: shadowedge on Aug 01, 2013, 03:29:18 AM
The Predator's Blazer gun in AVP extinction emits a beam of energy that is hotter than the core of most stars and instantly combusts anything it touches. How is it that anything in the game survives it? One beam in a sweeping motion should destroy everything for miles until it reaches the curvature of the earth and extends into space.

I know the answer is gameplay balance but still...

Same reason the Alien and Predator classes can be whipping the crap out of Marine units for a good 30 seconds before they fall. :)

Jesus, can you imagine that?!

A twenty minute battle with Aliens and Marines duking it out...and all of a sudden, HERE comes Mr. Blazer, power-walking his way into battle- vaporising everything in on fell swoop with his laser-pens of doom?

And of course, Miss. Predalien scoofs at the light-show, shaking a can of asbestos over her head, while giving Blitz Blazer the finger.  ;D

Such a weapon couldn't exist anyway.  It would vaporize after one shot.
