Favourite Alien Movie?

I rank them in the order they were released.

Aliens then alien then alien 3 then alien res but I would rather watch them in order

I used to like Aliens a fair bit, but now the more I think about it the more I see wrong with it.

1. Alien
2. Alien 3
3. Aliens
4. Alien Resurrection

Each have a predominant, central "theme" of some kind:

Alien (Suspense)
Alien 3 (Drama)
Aliens (Action)
Alien Resurrection (Bizarre)

my favorites would have to be Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and last and surely least A:R. The series sure went downhill by the end.

Its really hard for me to choose between Alien and Aliens... i REALLY like them both... but i might have to tip more toward the 1st is i really had to choose As for Alien3... i love it! but just never was really as crazy about it as i was the others... dunno why...

Actually thats more a genre then a theme.  Theme would be more like:

Alien - Rape??
Aliens - Family mother/daughter "would you go into the pits of hell to save your daughter"
Alien 3 - Sacrifice
Alien Res - What makes us human

Now having said that I find it most interesting that the film that has the least in it in terms of themes is Alien, and the most is probably Alien 3.  Now I don't like Alien 3 BECAUSE of it's theme and I quite like Alien despite it's lack of one.

As far as Alien Res is concerned - I don't think it was executed as well as it could have been and ultimately it was quite poor.

And Aliens - I think had the best theme (personal taste) out of all of them and was executed better then any of them.
