Can anyone with the  A    L    I    E    N  blu-ray do a frame grab of the Ripley and Lambert side by side in the corridor immediately after Ash burns? Most in focus frame of the first five frames of that shot if possible. I don't seem to be able to do t from the DVD - I get an empty frame.

Cheers

QuoteThe white suit itself must have been new

Quote...It wasn't new. Ridley Scott and other crew members say it was Lambert's painted white.

Heres one quote from the commentary:

Quote...now we used the same suits as the planet, and all we did was recycle and spray'em white.

Quote...Working on paintings of expanded key scenes in   A   L   I   E   N.

Quote...Interesting, i'd like to see those when your finished mate :) cool idea. I'd do it myself but can't paint for sh*t.
Hi new here, been lurking for a while just been slowly working my way through the many posts on the forum, some great screengrabs in this section.

Hope you don't mind me filling in some details regarding the white space suit worn by Ripley on board the Narcissus? This was actually a different design to the surface suits worn by Dallas, Kane and Lambert, these comprised of a short jacket with velcro closures and padded pants, where as the white suit was a one piece zip up jumpsuit with lacing panels on the back like Ripleys G-4B flightsuit. It also has markedly different criss crossed stitching on the cricket style shin pads as oppose to the surface suits vertical quilting!

It was indeed Lamberts helmet sprayed white with the lamp removed along with her shoulder harness, chest armour and gloves, the life support backpack was one of the ones used for the kids spacesuits also sprayed white, this was what Ridley was referring to when he said we just sprayed them white, he was referring to the hard parts and not the actual suit! easy mistake to make.

The original white suit is on display at Planet Hollywood in Vegas, the intricate quilting and lacing can be seen on the back and on the legs and arms, the helmet on display with the suit is the one seen at the start of Aliens when the salvage team enter the Narcissus (this incorrectly has the lamp on top) and has no interior detailing, the shoulder and chest armour are also wrong! looking like they've been cobbled together in a hurry?

Lamberts suit was unfortunately used in a soft core porn mag something and ended up back in Jon Mollos private collection. Of the two adult Kane suits made ( one was used by stuntman Derek Holt ) one resides in Bob Burns collection, the other at the PropStore in London, the suit worn by Dallas is a mystery, it was on display a few years ago at one of the Planet Hollywoods? it is possible Ridley Scott has this in his own collection? As for the kid's space suits, Bob Burns has the Dallas suit in his collection, Ridley Scott has the Kane version and Lamberts is in the Arnaud Grunberg Science Fiction Archives, Bob also has the original white Ripley helmet.

Hope that clears up the whereabouts of the various screen used space suits.

Capt Fitzgerald, here is a grab of the adult backpacks........the white suit had the smaller kids life support packs.

That's the one. Thanks very much.  ;)

Now, does anyone have any shots, either screen grabs or set photos of the corridor leading up to the shuttle?

Gash, there are two screen shots right before Ripley embarks the shuttle:

I hope they are useful for you  ;)

PS. Looks like nice photobucket reduces the size of uploaded pictures, so if you'd like to get them in 1366x768, pm me your email...

Thanks, those will be great.

I'm thinking of painting an image of the classic view of the alien hunched over in the corridor, from an alternate angle, and I just need as many reference pics for the corridor as possible so I can chose the angle.

Does anyone here have a picture of one of the cocoons from Alien.  It's not an actual shot used in the filming, but one just done of the set, or possibly for promotion.  It's in black and white, and just shows a cocooned person glued to a corner.  The individual is so wrapped up or transformed that it's impossible to make out physical features.

Gah, I love that stuff too. Flash Gordon meets the old Star Wars guns - speaking of which, the scope looks remarkably similar to the tube on the ROTJ Boba Fett gun...I'll do a comparison.
Roger Christian did both Star Wars and Alien. Don't know if he did ROTJ, though.

The bottom scope is used on the Scout Trooper blaster pistol from ROTJ.

anyone who has the Alien 3 Blu ray could they take some screen-caps of the hallway where Morse runs down to alert Dillon and Ripley of the Aliens escape, but could you take it on the immediate second that we see the door closed without Morse running through it. All the best guys
