If they're gonna wait around on the teaser trailer, that's fine, but let's talk about what the first teaser POSTER should look like.
What do you want to see? I loved the "limited edition" poster with the relief of the alien and the predator curled around each other for the last movie, but obviously that was themed to fit with the temple of the first film. The main poster, with its striking white background, was also pretty nice... but just having an alien and a predator on a poster won't be anything special this time around. So how to shake it up?
Maybe they could just show two separate posters for each side - one with a resin-encrusted sewer tunnel and one with a cache of Predator weaponry displayed on a wall.
I'd like a poster with either just an Alien egg on it. Or a woman screaming in terror. No spoiler shots of the Creatures.
But no doubt the posters will thrash the looks of the creatures to death.

Another thought - an empty city street with signs of devastation. And in the center of the image, we don't really see a predator... just his cloaked, warped shimmer standing there.

I always wanted it to be a misty background, with the Pred and the Predalien facing each other. You can just make them out though... or a poster thats split in half, the top has a pic of the town while the bottom is a pic of the sewer with a cash of Alien eggs in it.
How about a poster of the Predator and Alien armwrestling like Dutch and Dillon in "Predator"... J/K.....

The alien through the eyes is pretty generic, woman screaming is generic. I like the idea of the alien egg in the woods with the predator mark on it (if the eggs are even going to be in the woods) and the city on top/sewer on bottom idea.
Don't dream too hard though, we're most likely going to get an extreme close-up of the creatures faces or something (ex. AvP) which could also work real well if done right.

I dont like any of them...they're too simple, and lack detail, and they dont blend well. The first one is decent, but the logo, and the helmat ruin it, it doesnt blend at all. Try blending things, making them work with EACH OTHER, dont just stick a mask on some random picture and expect praise.
ill let you know its very hard to make such things i know iam no professional but i could make it better if they have something more to work with :-\

I just noticed that in that series of AvP 2 posters with the Pred helmet PSd onto the AvP Pred that the first one has a box around the title. If that wasn't there it would be ace.

The rest are just filters. Plus i'm pretty sure i saw the civil war one as a signature for someone in another forum, and the facehugger on google images...

Wow, that Alien reflection is a great play on the reflection in the Predator's mask, but if the Pred was facing him it'd be even better. Haha, a good joke one would be a screen of a Predator from one of the movie's with a surprised look in his face in the Alien's reflection.

It's nice and all, but I don't think it conveys the reflection idea very well.
It just looks kinda like the Alien is wearing a little Predator mask on his face.
(Not to mention, the Predator's mouth area looks like a weird nose on the Alien. ;) )
The problem is, if the Predator's reflection was spread over that much of the Alien's noggin, there'd be more distortion to it. The Alien is not a flat mirror.
I guess this alien has a relatively flat forehead :D

Hey PS people, would it be possible for you to do what Karhan did and incorporate the AVP2 Pred gear that we've seen, into older Predator pictures so we can get a better idea of what it will look like??

Nice poster I like that color because it goes good with that predator picture, and although the alien is cool I don't really like how it's the figure alien...a real alien picture like that one would look sweet!

I have to say your first is still my favorite. I just don't know if it's something that needed any improvement. It had everything going for it, with the angles that make it so striking and the shuriken and the red overlay to make it stand out in a theater. As for these, not so sure about the neon pea-green.

He he he, I know, I'm just playing around with it, trying to find different moods and settings, I do like the first one a lot, but it feels somehow "raw" maybe that's what makes it appealing, while these last versions are more "clean cut" but I'm having a lot of fun, I have a new idea that I want to work on later this week...

How about placing the REQUIEM word under ALien versus Predator... the word placed at the bottom would be a bad idea because of the movie credits...! ;D ;)

on the poster you can see a busstop-building with a person is sleeping at the bench, but with the ace to the wall. its night with a big full-moon...in the background is a wood, very dark....
behind the busstop-building, at the right sight there is standing to or three open alien-eggs and on the right side there is wolf sitting on the rooftop of the building and looking at the eggs, so not direct out of the poster....

Thanks dude!! As soon as I saw the trailer and saw that scene I tought about a poster with the tagline. It was a little tricky to put together, I had to find a complete Globe pic and do a bit of photoshop to make it look right, then cut out the ship from the HD trailer and impose it. It wasn't to bad but it was a lot harder than it looks! ;)

The red triangle is only visible in preds mask. Three laser dots are visible for preys so there should not be a triangle on the egg. But moon is good.

real nice! maybe you could have a really faint alien/pred/predalien in the black of the sky?
to make it less like every other spaceship poster, i meen have a hardly noticable pic within the sky, just a thought........

It's awesome. It's like you took my "egg in the woods, town in background" idea from the start of the thread and brought it to life better than I could've hoped to ever do. :)
Glad you like it. So basically I used some of your ideas and added some elements to it. It's very symbolical and doesnt show much of either the Alien or the Predator themselves. Really loved the concept, so I HAD to make it :).

you should look for as many pictures as possible and yeah then you begin to work on...
for example for the avpr, copy my one or the original teaser poster and cut the avpr out and copy it to another pic.... maybe with photoshop or photoimpact or or or...

I think it works better with the ship, though. The laser is too generic. The cracking egg effect and Predator ship is perfect for explaining what it's about, while being clever enough to not need to show any of the actual body or equipment either creature is famous for.
Perhaps the shot someone posted earlier, with the ship over the top of the planet, instead of by the side.

Looks great, but i think it must be darker... not as dark as my ones^^ ...but a bit darker... you could see to much from the creaturers and from the humen less...

The thing with what I suggested for the ship and cracked egg theme is that it deliberately avoids showing any of the actual creatures. Whenever they're put in it, posters tend to lose the artistic subtlety.
Try to come up with ideas which avoid showing parts of the adult acreatures - especially the faces they have. :)

Well in a movie named "alien vs predator" people that dont no what the creatures look like want to so they can remember what they are.......and plus alotta people no about the creatures anyway so theres no point in hiding them, but i agree it shows a curious like sublety.

If you wanted to emphasize the predalien theme you could have Scar's cracked and damaged mask lying next to a dead facehugger. Kind of plain though, and a lot of people don't know the facehugger dies after it's job is finished, maybe just the predalien chestburster next to the mask, or wrapped around it.
