Sounds like the franchise just lucked out.

Luck has left this franchise a long time ago.

On the contrary, I think its one of the luckiest ones. It did end on a third movie, did not have a stupid 4th film that added on top of a finished story, and does not have multiple additional sequels or prequels or reboots. Sure, it has terrible and cheap TV movies , a reboot and a kids tv show, but thats all outside continuity, separate entity. The theatrical films ended the story in 93 and it stayed this way, and IM very fine with that even with a subpar 3rd entry

The first is clearly a masterpiece. I always felt Robocop 2 is good and a bit underrated.  Robocop 3 has it's moments, but was pretty crappy.  I really liked the 2014 version too. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a follow-up to that.

I did too. I would have much preferred if they made the story about a resurrection of the Robocop programme and went down the soft reboot road.

I liked the remake, too. It's a different enough take on the Robocop premise and did new and interesting things with the character.

Teyon did Terminator Resistance, which was a really enjoyable game. Hopefully this will be good.

Can't say I did. It was medicore in all aspects. I did like Robocop: Prime Directives miniseries though. Guilty as charged.
It's shame Blocamp's Robocop: Reactivated didn't make it.

:o

The toxic waste melting the villain and then being run over, is a lasting image.
