Damn f**ks, they just throw that kind of stuff into a random tv trailer... it's utterly unavoidable to not get spoiled at this rate. Was just watching batman on spike and then the covenant trailer came on and I thought I saw fassbender getting stabbed in the neck. Why do they do shit like this.

I think Crudup said in a recent interview that they had originally wanted him to play it as sort of a villain but he didn't think that was right for the character.

In the film he comes across as unseasoned but well intentioned. He's suddenly placed in a position of authority and doesn't want to be undermined by his crew.
