Clearly we forgot along time ago that the plot in Alien was that humans were being 'lured' by a so called signal.
Its the details that we should look at that the lure is basically 'satan in all it's depictions and disguises which is luring mankind' and one of them being a distress signal, an sos but we soon realize its actually a warning.
The intent here are that the engineers represent a holy grail but all the visuals are there to say that it isn't so.
The telescope is not a telescope, the ship isn't a exploration ship but a vessel full of eggs, the temple isn't a means to make kind acquientences but a place where they held vials of death.... what next? Oh, just another alien film where we have an invasion of stuff with xenos.

Mike’s Monsters

I really think this is Ridley producing the new Fede film and all the news articles stating otherwise just misunderstood the details. It would be wild to have him direct a prequel film while Fede is making a follow up to Romulus. But I just don't see it playing out that way.

part of me agrees with@Mike'sMonsters but I also remember reading several months ago about Ridley Scott doing another alien film on Daniel Richtman's Patreon.

Wasn't that rumor/report about him doing a show, not a film?

No. Not now that the studio has made bank with the Romulus model; it'll power away from Covenant territory at flank speed.

And, if you ask me, that's a bit sad.

I honestly agree with you, unless they were planning on doing something that connected the two films. Even with that though - I still agree it seems highly irregular and unlikely.

I do hope I'm wrong though, and I know some people may disagree but I would love another addition from Ridley.

Nightmare Asylum

I still say the most likely option in all of this is a Ridley-produced, Fede-directed direct sequel to Romulus that features David.

That would be great. Right now Romulus is kind of flailing around without any real connection to the overall narrative; anchoring it to the prequels would validate it a bit and give it more meaning.

Yeah that makes the most sense. David to huh - I know its a hot take but I wouldn't mind that. I love Fassbender so I'm down for that.

Nightmare Asylum

I just hope that if David is in the Romulus sequel, he's not utilized in the sort of video game NPC quest giver way that Rook was in Romulus. I want to see him fully realized and expanded upon since we last saw him in Covenant. There's real potential there.

CANNON

Same absolutely, his character deserves that.

Immortan Jonesy

We've already seen the Alien + a new creature. So...What's next in this sequel? A queen, Engineer stuff, more Weyland Yutani experiments?

Personally, I don't mind seeing David in a new installment, however unlikely that may be. Also, it would be great to see something like when Blue Marsalis transformed herself into a Xenomorph Queen.

Just watched Romulus on digital and the film did not improve from when I watched it. The only bits I really enjoy is the scorched alien and ash and Andy is ok.

The acting and cast are very weak compared to all the actors of decades ago.
