Quote from: ArthropodHopper on Sep 30, 2024, 11:22:05 AMDoes anyone think we will see a xenomorph queen in the series? Do you think it's a good idea or has the concept been overused? Personally I think it would be cool but I might prefer them going for something new.

If an apprearance of a Queen serves the story, then yes.

If it doesn't, then no.

Appearing for the sake of appearing would be the worst decision. Especially for a... Very budget-conscious television production.

Part of me kind of wishes HBO picked up this show. Oh well.

Quote from: Ripper Rex on Oct 02, 2024, 03:43:18 PMI'm hoping we do see a Queen again, and this time portrayed properly.

Her job is to basically just sit there and shit out eggs. Not be a giant space dinosaur(as someone else here put it, heh) that can run a marathon after the protagonists. As we saw in Aliens, A Queens legs were basically atrophying/becoming vestigial. Her weird walking stance was because of that. Imagine sitting in a single spot for a month doing nothing but crapping out babies and then trying to walk. You wouldn't be making a mad dash anytime soon

I don't think the legs were atrophied.

these beings are quite capable of
to stay in certain positions for a long time and still be ready to kick ass hard.

the Queen's gait in Aliens was because of the puppeteers

TBF for me personally how the Queen moved in Aliens made it even more creepier!

absolutely. I didn't mean that I think it's bad either. it should just be a possible reason why it looks like that.
That being said, it might have been the desired result.

With David Zaslav producing? No thanks.
Look what happened to House of the Dragon. Then look at Fargo and Legion.

Also the way the Queen moved was designed to evoke a black widow spider, it moved like that on purpose.

Big swing - Retrieve the Queen from the Antarctic coast. Force AvP into continuity. Watch the world burn.

In a very Local Trouble-like fashion, I would be fascinated with this kind of chaos.  :o

Imagine a fight between a Queen and a Space Jockey (Elephant Man). That would be sick.

It would have to make sense in the first place.

A transformation from human to queen (ala Blue Marsalis) would be nice and more original.

So many possibilities with this show. The wait will be long.

Yeah, they could really delve into the transformations of an Alien to its caste system. I'd be interested in exploring that.
