Fun, but no new Maps or Game Modes. They just keep milking those skins. So sad.

I'm just gonna wait and see what illfonic does to this game before jumping in, I would rather have them work on bug fixes, balance changes, and new modes

Indeed, the game would benefit for at least 3 more maps. I don't like how they count nighttime as maps themselves, such a cop out.

They dont care about Xbox players, these developers are so bad, they released the Xbox version recently, but they dont do the physical versions for Xbox? So, no Jungle Hunter for us, same as with the Dutch, Dante and Isabele. They should rather create another new maps, urban & city environments.

Mike’s Monsters

Unsure if this will affect HG, but Illfonic cut a bunch of staff today due to the state of the industry.

Huh not surprised

A post made at their phg forum summarizes the situation well:

Quotethis is exactly the end that was expected to be honest
In there history they made what 5 games?
F13 PHG Arcadegeddon Ghostbusters Killer Klowns

Of these two of them were successful the first two F13 they got shafted due to wrong place wrong time
PHG they struck gold but didn't have the means to capitalize on it because of a bad contract and lack of talent cause it was still early on in their time as a game dev studio

They wanted to do something original and noticed how successful PHG was so they used that money to work on other projects letting phg fall apart

They then release game after game that was just... Not good compared to what came before

Then they spent god knows how much money to go back to phg the one thing they had that was successful

And aren't even able to do anything with it because for some f**king reason their management decided they didn't want to change anything they just want to release some dlc and hope people buy it for some shortfall to hopefully push them through this financial ruin

If you want to make money in the gaming industry make good games
Listen to your customers to improve on said game

If you don't and you choose to make bad games

I have no sympathy for you get out of my hobby there are other jobs for you

Mike’s Monsters

I personally think a lot of the comments I've seen are uncalled for, like the one quoted below. It's more of an industry thing rather than a "make good games and listen to the fans" thing. The entire industry is crashing and burning and real people are losing their jobs, and livelihoods.

Yes, they should improve on things, but they are a very, very small independent studio compared to the big corporations that are also dealing with issues similarly as well. The fact that there is no sympathy for any of this is disheartening. How can we expect better if the industry is failing?

Respectfully disagree.the Industry isn't crashing. Gamers are waking up and not just buying the trash developers put out. When you see how much games like dragonball sparking zero sold in 24 hours and how many are excited for GTA6 you can't tell me the industry is crashing that's a complete cop out to explain terrible mangement decisions.

Illfonic spread themselves too thin, had terrible communication with the community. Didnt update PHG for a year and a half  became the publishers but still refused to answer any questions the relaunch wasn't going to go well.

They are the most incompetent game devs of all time

Mike’s Monsters

I don't know, I've lost track of how many reports we've had over the last year or two of competent and successful studios who've made great games getting shut down due to the state of the industry. There's clearly an issue right now.

And for the record, I'm not really a fan of this game. I used play it from time to time, but it has severe issues. But I don't like to see people losing their jobs. This whole team was dealt a shit hand with all the timing of lawsuits and buyouts of the IPs they've produced. I'm not seeing many talk about how they basically got put on hold with Hunting Grounds due to the merger with Fox & Disney, which basically shot the game in the foot.

They've definitely tried to get it to live as long as it could, and it's a surprise to me that it's even been released on XBox and has a new physical version. These layoffs aren't going to help the support of that game one bit. But it still had major problems for sure. Celebrating folks losing their jobs is wild to me.

Honestly, having the developers ignoring any conversations with their community about player feedback/game improvements in the past three years eventually have people develop this mindset. The fact that they launched a dev stream on Twitch since for almost a year, without without having to acknowledge anyone trying to discuss the results of the last patch instead of actually communicating what went wrong and right in that patch DID NOT HELP EITHER.

I try to keep a positive mind about things, but even how they just outright ignored the chat did sting, as if further justifying what the community perceived as a uncaring dev team who just sees the community as a bank machine that must go buy DLCs and nothing more. Nearly a year of outright not having a PHG community stream and that's how you treat them? Genuinely not surprising how there are people who are celebrating Illfonic employees losing their jobs.

Hell for for myself, seeing how while I'm happy being an Alien fan in getting all these new games, as a Predator fan, this game is really all we have AND the development team for it is slowly shutting down? It just saddening for various reasons.

People already reporting new bugs after yesterday update lol at least if there was no one working on the game they cant make it worse.

You can put in a ticket by posting on PHG forum in "bug reports". This has been very helpful when I had issues with the game.
