Sega has just released a new batch of screenshots from Aliens: Colonial Marines in celebration of the game’s presence at GamesCom (August 17th – 21th). You can see them all by clicking the image below:
We can also reveal that the game will be shown behind-closed-doors at Gamescom. According to Sega, they will be showing a bit more than at E3 to press. Please keep checking this thread on the forum for further updates.

They may all be using the in-game engine but only the 3rd pic looks like it's actually in-game. The rest of them look like cut scenes. Either way, this is all looking excellent. The image of the hive looks like a new locale that we haven't seen in any of the movies. I like that too. :)

No he means the tails have been fixed. As far as I know. They still have bigger than ALIENS design blades but thats ok with me as I know its going to be a weapon or probably will be one.

I think thats just because the particular Pulse Rifle has not been upgraded at all. I still want to know what that one piece on the side of it is though.
Actually I think I know what that piece on the side of it is for, either attaching it to your armor somehow so you can use more than one weapon without a sling or its a flashlight/laser slight slot. :-\

The new screenshots look great...it would be nice to see some gameplay for a change though.

I think thats just because the particular Pulse Rifle has not been upgraded at all. I still want to know what that one piece on the side of it is though.

The facehuggers shot looks absolutely amazing, I imagine in motion during game play it would be terrifying.
The alien design seems great, especially with them hiding in the hive wall like in the film... I think we're in for a treat.

Thats what were discussing. Seems they kept the larger tail "blade" and got rid of the fin like thing that are on all ADI aliens cept the runner. Id prefer the little barb but this is ok I guess.

Love the new pics! I'm not sure if anyone already asked this, but uh, I read that this game is suppose to be between Aliens and Alien 3. How is it possible that there's more aliens after they blew up LV-426 at the end of Aliens? Does the game even take place on LV-426? I saw the teaser for the game and they appeared to be looking for Ripley or something. So I was thinking this is what takes place in the mean time while she's on Fiorina 161. Anyone have any ideas or did I not read something right?

Yah they are keeping the big blades. They aren't as big as the 100% ADI blades though. But they are certainly larger than the original designs.

i cant stand facehuggers i could barely get through avp 2 and avp 2010 knowing one or even more could come at me this game is gonna be the scariest f**king game i will ever play if they have nests and scenes where there are multitudes of them on glass i would be so afraid opf that shit i would pop off a grenade right there into the glass god this game will be epic

Another thing I like is, the pulse rifle actually looks how it's suppose too look. I hated the AVP 2010 look.

As long as you have some grenades handy them facehuggers shouldnt be a problem.
Lets hope there is some sort of melee action incase if the player has a Close Encounter.

I just hope Im not stuck counting rounds the whole game. I like survival horror, but it doesnt work with the pulse rifle. Maybe some levels can have you crying over ammo but that shouldnt be what makes things difficult.

Dont forget that the aliens are crawling and staying low to the ground, we still haven't seen a picture of an alien standing next to a marine.

I actually really liked AvP3.
