Akira - not
that keen on the film (although it's certainly very interesting and well worth the watch), but the soundtrack's incredible.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ1pqYKMB7E#The Terminator (to skip the ominous stuff, cut to 2m50).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4ioTBAHzYI#The Social Network - a pretty varied and generally awesome OST, but this is my favourite track. Well, and Soft Trees Break The Fall. And Intriguing Possibilities. And In Motion. And Hand Covers Bruise. Ah, screw it, I just love the whole thing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU4ZbLzaqRI#wsTwin Peaks - the Angelo Badalamenti/Julee Cruise/David Lynch partnership produced some seriously mesmerising music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNgo-ppXZt0#And some game stuff...
Unreal - in terms of raw gameplay it's still the best of all time as far as I'm concerned, and really beautiful so long as you add the high-res textures and an HDR renderer. The soundtrack complements it
perfectly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6pq393A2iE#Ecco II: The Tides Of Time - another of my all-time faves, another really beautiful game, another stunning soundtrack. This game got very little coverage at launch, which is a shame because it's infinitely better than the first one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QousDdXrjWo#Streets of Rage 2 - finally get a chance to stop saying "beautiful", but there are lots of awesome tunes throughout the first two games (not least the main theme). Hard to believe the same guy did the soundtrack for SoR3, which is mostly awful.
It loops from about 1m30, so don't sit through all 10 minutes unless you
really like it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC-B3Q0cRrY#Jurassic Park Rampage Edition - some cool tracks scattered throughout this and the first game, but the epic masterpiece has to be the Cargo Ship music, which segues into different parts of the song as you progress through the level.
Keep listening, it doesn't loop much...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty7FEY8vMxc#And finally, a bit of Unreal Tournament. Ahhh, the memories...
