Vertigo

Akira - not that keen on the film (although it's certainly very interesting and well worth the watch), but the soundtrack's incredible.

The Terminator (to skip the ominous stuff, cut to 2m50).

The Social Network - a pretty varied and generally awesome OST, but this is my favourite track. Well, and Soft Trees Break The Fall. And Intriguing Possibilities. And In Motion. And Hand Covers Bruise. Ah, screw it, I just love the whole thing.

Twin Peaks - the Angelo Badalamenti/Julee Cruise/David Lynch partnership produced some seriously mesmerising music.

And some game stuff...

Unreal - in terms of raw gameplay it's still the best of all time as far as I'm concerned, and really beautiful so long as you add the high-res textures and an HDR renderer. The soundtrack complements it perfectly.

Ecco II: The Tides Of Time - another of my all-time faves, another really beautiful game, another stunning soundtrack. This game got very little coverage at launch, which is a shame because it's infinitely better than the first one.

Streets of Rage 2 - finally get a chance to stop saying "beautiful", but there are lots of awesome tunes throughout the first two games (not least the main theme). Hard to believe the same guy did the soundtrack for SoR3, which is mostly awful.
It loops from about 1m30, so don't sit through all 10 minutes unless you really like it...

Jurassic Park Rampage Edition - some cool tracks scattered throughout this and the first game, but the epic masterpiece has to be the Cargo Ship music, which segues into different parts of the song as you progress through the level.
Keep listening, it doesn't loop much...

And finally, a bit of Unreal Tournament. Ahhh, the memories...

you can get a music of Unreal series CD, i got it with a cheap boxset of Unreal + Return to Na Pali, Unreal 2, UT, UT 2004, has all the good tracks i remembered on it, (i got unreal not long after it came out and ive loved the series ever since, even if it's never reached the heights of U1 or UT ever since :( )

As for video games, it definitely has to be this:

The blend between modern synth-sounds and classical orchestral arrangements is just amazing!

Anybody who loved the Tron:Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk but was a little bit disapointed that Derezzed was the only track that could have fit on a Daft Punk album fear not. Because theyve just released a remix album and its full of absolute corkers. Definately picking this up sometime this week.

This is incredible. I love M83 and I love Daft Punk. I cant believe theyve actually crossed paths and its fantastic.

Hm, I listened on a couple of previews over at Amazon, didn't really like it. The score that was used in the movie is much more to my liking.

I listen to alot of electronic music, including electro and french touch so having remixes like these is great. They wouldnt work in the film, but thats not the point of this album.

Did you listen to one I posted in full. Forget that its a remix, that its from a soundtrack and just listen to it as a standalone track as though you didnt know who it was by or what it was for. Its brilliant. As a huge fan of both M83 and Daft Punk it works brilliantly and you can hear both of their styles coming through. Dont know who Big Black Delta are but i'll be sure to check them out.

Shasvre

I did, but didn't really care for it either. Guess I'm just not a big fan of Daft Punk or their kind of music in general. I loved the score for Tron: Legacy though, that's about the only exception I can think of.

If you dont like that sort of music or Daft Punks studio albums (cant for the life of me see why anybody wouldnt  :D ) then you wont like this album. If you do however I urge you to check out the album. Its on Spotify too so its easy to listen to the whole thing. Some absolute corkers from Moby, Boys Noize, M83, Teddy Bears, Japanese Popstars, Glitch Mob, Crystal Method amongst others.

Surely youve gotta love this though Shasvre. How can you not. Superb sampling.

Nope, didn't like that much. Just not my kind of music.

I did enjoy Derezzed though, that's the closest I get.
